This Christmas and New year.

Let’s do this ting.

OP posts:
LagerthaofKattegat · 16/12/2021 20:17

I was 16. With my boyfriend at his best friends house with a load of weed I expect.
I probably wore boot flare low waisted jeans, a bra with a meshy t-shirt over the top and Vans.

We were so excited about Millennium bug obviously convinced something massive was about to happen. Or just that our Video players wouldn’t work. Was also mega excited to be writing 2000 instead of 19something. Saaaaaaados lol

DaisyNGO · 16/12/2021 20:19

I am not in touch with anyone I partied with. It's sad but I try not to dwell.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 16/12/2021 20:23

I worked in a pub which locked its doors at 8pm in case of hordes descending, but by midnight there were more staff than customers so I phoned round the pubs until I found my best mate, went and met him and downed a bottle of champagne to 'catch up'.

Best mate is now DH and I fucking love him ❤️❤️

FlibbertyGibbitt · 16/12/2021 20:42

Anyone go to the Millennium Dome ? I took my children on a work trip, it was fab!

StarryNightSparkles · 16/12/2021 20:57

Have to say this is an Amazing thread 😊🎉🎉🎉 I was at home about to have a baby, listening to all the fireworks going off and feeling the little kicks inside me 💖

This thread makes me want to get dressed up and party!!! Bacardi Breezer anyone?

No, I only realised in early 2001 that it was only opening for a year. I'd just assumed it was permanent!
TulipsGarden · 16/12/2021 21:05

I mean, it was fun, but I don't think my family would be too happy if I stayed out all night in London and snogged three different men? Plus my phone didn't work for hours after midnight because the system couldn't cope with so many new year texts.

crazycrochetlady · 16/12/2021 21:06

Was 33 and living abroad. Two under 5s. We all left a big expat party early - about 10pm - because the kids were getting fractious. Got home, tucked them up, and clinked champagne glasses with DH in bed. One of my favourite New Years

Watermelon or lime for me please with 20 Marlboro lights
NewYorkDiamond · 16/12/2021 21:17

I was at a house party with lots of like-minded people on ecstasy so don't remember much detail, just that it was a good night Smile Definitely too old for raving now so no millennium reunion parties for me this year sorry OP Grin

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 16/12/2021 21:21

Oh no, I was at a house party with my then boyfriend who (I found out later) cheated on me that night. Twat.

Don’t want to relive that! But I will take a bottle of Metz.

LazyDoll · 16/12/2021 21:21

Wow. Blast from the past. Spent that night watching the fireworks at Sydney Harbour and stumbled home through Kings Cross shoeless (naturally) at 4am. Those were the days Grin

GardensAhead565 · 16/12/2021 21:40

Yep lets party , give me the champagne..

Next time any of these posters talk about covid minimisers when someone is struggling in a mask having issues with it , or those struggling with vaccines for whatever reason saying how selfish they are overstretching the NHS spreading covid remind them of this thread where they are going against the medical advice of Whitty when they say fuck the rules and laugh at them. The greater good has always been self preservation for many of these characters and always will be where they choose which " rules " they can cope with and which ones they can't.

Utter hypocrisy and 2 faced behaviour on every level imaginable

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 16/12/2021 21:48

Raspberry Archers for me (once I had had enough of beer) and 20 Marlboro Red for me @DaphneDeloresMoorhead Grin

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 16/12/2021 21:49

Yep that's us @GardensAhead565 killing our grannies by, er, sharing old memories Confused

onewayandday · 16/12/2021 21:52

@JuneOsborne

God, 1999 was brilliant. I mean, truly, utterly, brilliant. The year 2000. Threat of the millennium bug. Pulp. Cheap nights out. Street parties on NYE. A Labour government, raring to go.

I'm in!

Yes, I was 22 and loving life
onewayandday · 16/12/2021 21:53

@Burnamer

Are you actually suggesting people pay no attention to covid or is there some kind of joke I’m missing?

Barcardi breezers ... wow that's a blast from the past

minipie · 16/12/2021 22:03

I was supposed to be going to my then boyfriend’s in Spain but a few days before he said he didn’t want me to come after all. Dick.

So I invited myself to a party I’d turned down with a load of uni mates and had an awesome time. I wore a vintage 70s dress that there’s no way I could do up now (I’m only about half a stone more but my god that dress was teeny tiny).

I don’t remember what we were drinking but think it was mixed up in buckets Grin

Twonkytwoo · 16/12/2021 22:06

I’m in, mid twenties, back packing in New Zealand partied on a beach until 0700, a few hours kip then watched the London fireworks on TV. Good days.

mum2jakie · 16/12/2021 22:09

I'm up for that! Happy days. Got paid triple time to work it and was still out before midnight, celebrating with my now husband.

StarryNightSparkles · 16/12/2021 22:31

Do you still get Marlboro, bacardi breezers, Metz? Seriously thinking of having a 90s kitchen disco this weekend... number of party people 1 😂🕺

OhDear2200 · 16/12/2021 22:40

Out in the city centre, returned to boyfriends house and smoked a massive split. Good times 🤣🤣🤣

OhDear2200 · 16/12/2021 22:40

Spliff not split!

OhDear2200 · 16/12/2021 22:41

I miss Bacardi breezers
