I’m just watching the Spokesman form WHO on Sky News. It’s absolutely terrifying tbh, he’s saying the acceleration will cause massive pressure on the NHS and he feels people need to just take part vital interactions with anyone outside your household.

Oh God - we’re actually going to rely on the public doing the right thing… I think the vast majority will be sensible but sadly I reckon there’s at least 25% dickhead in the population that will spread it far & wide. We will then have to lock down because we couldn’t be trusted…. It’s like being back at school🙈. To be fair I don’t want a lockdown but I do think social distancing proper needs to come back in until this variant has swept over…I think the only solution is to start praying hard you don’t need a doctor for a while!!!!

But living along side of it has always been to live with some restrictions when necessary. People seem to have completely ignored that part.

Sone types of deaths have declined
The expectations are that cancer deaths may rise in coming years

Overwhelmed hospitals and exhausted staff cause that. So if hospitals are full of covid patients, all death rates can rise . Despite that most excess deaths are covid

(yes some people have died who might not have and that is horrible , but denying that covid is the primary cause of most excess deaths and an indirect cause of the rest will not make things better
