How can you book a jab if there are no appointments? DH booked yesterday. There was NOTHING before 5th. He is refusing to rebook and 'jump the queue'. He's 39.

The walk in had a 2hr wait but i tried another, early morning and was done within 5mins.

This is a very dangerous game, cancelling non-covid appts to allow a supercharged booster rollout. With everything still open and very few restrictions.

Isn't it great we have state TV where the PM can get TV channels to play his party political broadcasts when he fancies. No need for any of that nasty scrutiny or questions from journalists.

Asking more of our front line workers are you Boris? so maybe you could have given them a decent pay rise instead of the measly amount you gave the nurses!

Guilt tripping or not, he is right. Not getting the vaccine has a knock on effect for cancer patients. Refusing to get a vaccine that will protect you, protect others, support the NHS and assist people with serious illness getting life saving treatment just because you don't like the PM is pathetic.

Wow everyone offered one before the end of the year certainly sounds very optimistic. Almost unachievable, where are they going to get these thousands of volunteers to train?

Ds2 was panicking about another lockdown... He's deaf and autistic. Last year when Boris did his Christmas announcement he had a complete meltdown and was banging his head against a wall... The police had to be called.. I live on the other side of the country. He had to do Christmas on his own. This year he will home in plenty of time!

Didn’t watch it but NHS website was working fine earlier. I’m 39 and booked me and DH in for 28/12. There were appointments earlier but I don’t want it in the few days before Christmas just in case.

Looks like he rolled out of bed after a hard night of partying and got in a fight with the Christmas tree on the way in.

Given this last minute urgency, am I right in assuming they’re maybe not so sure Omicron will be as mild as first hoped?

I listened to the last half of it on LBC, so I missed the pleasure of seeing BoJo in the flesh (shudder).

They were saying if you are vaxed with two AZ doses, it gives you zero immunity against Omicron. I’ll bet a lot of people only have AZ vaccines.

There’s no way everyone will have it by the end of the month, especially as it’s December so you’ve got a few days where far fewer people will be willing to have it done (I’m certainly not heading over to a vaccine centre on Christmas Day).

I have the app for volunteer shifts for vaccine stewards as I did some over the summer - can’t do it now as I’m pregnant and quite ill with sickness. If I check it there are endless shifts available, and they list how many volunteers they need and how many they already have. So many around me have 0 but need 3 or 4. Won’t they need more volunteers (again much harder over Christmas with visiting family, kids off school etc), if they’re going to even get close to this goal?

Not necessarily. I was eligible November 16th.
Got it done Friday just gone.
Took 3 weeks as wanted it done on a Friday night in case of reaction over the weekend, both my kids were subsequently poorly, lost power for a few days, on my knees at work atm etc etc Forced myself to drive down to the centre as it's a pain to get to.
Had I ditched Friday, the get boosted ides of January message might have concentrated my mind somewhat It will be hardline anti-vaxxers that will ignore it.
