Is anyone being offered Pfizer as a booster?

Locally we only have Moderna being offered. I wondered if it was pot luck, a Nationwide decision and if it’s possible to have a booster done privately to be able to pick?

I had Az for first 2 and Moderna booster today, was advised works best as booster if AZ was your first and second vaccine. Feeling achy a few hours after with a slight headache. Paracetamol is helping though.

All 3 of mine have been Pfizer. Which I'm glad about. South West. But the place I had it at they were doing Moderna at the weekends and Pfizer during the week.

I went to a walk in centre that offered Pfizer

I had Pfizer last week. I only know of people having Pfizer in my area. I don't know anyone who's had Moderna.

I'm London/Surrey borders.

Over 30s are getting moderna, younger people getting Pfizer.

I'm 61 in a fortnight. I too had Pfizer booster today.

Surely you can see from this thread that's not true everywhere. I've given hundreds of boosters to every age from 18 to 80. All have had Pfizer because as a centre we only have Pfizer & have never had Moderna.

I had my booster today which was Pfizer after both previous jabs being AZ. I questioned why and was told "Pfizer is working better than AZ as a booster right now"

I had Pfizer- Solihull. They told me and said it like hope that's ok but I don't know what you can do if it isn't

I'm hoping I can have Pfizer. I would rather have AZ again but I know that's not possible but I absolutely don't want Moderna. Please bear in mind I have a needle phobia and no rational thought is involved!

I’m no specialist but surely if Pfizer and Moderna are very similar then this just comes down to branding. Pfizer gets loads of great press.
I had 2 AZ and Moderna booster. DH had 3 x pfizer. The difference here seems to be the GP arranged vaccinations are pfizer and those booked by the public are AZ/Moderna booster. It seems to be more an issue of storage of the vaccine than anything else, but as I said I’m no specialist.
I’m just really grateful to be able to have these vaccines at all.

Moderna yesterday after 2 x AZ. I’m in the SW. Was a drop in clinic and non-negotiable! A slightly sore arm but nearly 36 hours later, I’ve had no side effects at all! Haven’t even needed paracetamol— and I felt a a bit shite after AZ

Had Moderna today. 2x AZ before.
I asked about Pfizer and the nurse said they were reserving Pfizer for the under 18's. South West.

On the radio today they said that AZ was never licensed to be a booster. Moderna boosters are a half dose apparently, pfizer a full dose. I think it depends on your local area which one you get.

OP i was with you until you mentioned courgettes.
they certainly do have a taste, a rather bitter taste.
cucumbers much more innocent and mild, cool, refreshing.
i also do not like loose neck lines esp on night gowns, but that is a practical reason as i find them draughty, even winter ones or pyjamas.
hope he gets his booster.
