@onewayanother

I'm double jabbed. Not a chance will I be having a booster when it makes not a bit of difference to what I can/can't do.

That’s not the point of the booster though is it? It’s to protect you from serious illness, not open doors to venues.

@onewayanother why would you not get the booster to protect your own health and possibly that of others?

@Bouledeneige

I've just got covid (though I don't know if its Omicron) but I think I have the same symptoms - its feels coldy/fluey, runny nose, with headaches and feeling tired. But its not terrible.

Agreed for most it's not terrible. I have a thing that measures blood oxygen which is useful to check for early warning signs that things aren't going to get worse.

If you've had two jabs and are now refusing a booster now you have a greater risk of getting ill than you were two weeks ago - you are tup.

Well it will almost certainly be necessary for your full vaccination status once everyone has been offered it. It’s not necessary for Covid vaccination pass now because it’s only offered to the over 40s.

@LivinLaVidaLoki

Sorry didn't catch it earlier but did they say that daily testing or contact testing would replace the 10 day isolation for contacts with Omicron?

I heard them say that. I hope I heard that right and I’m not misleading anyone.

I had covid before my vaccine and was just fine. I'm young. No underlying issues. I'll take my chances. I am double jabbed and won't be having a booster

@EnnAndJay I guess that it becomes semantics about what managing means. I think 200k plus cases will be possible.

Cases actually I dont think will be the marker for any of this - it will be seriousness. At the moment data on that is looking ok (not great but ok) and the plan will be to manage it as much as possible so that is kept down.

I dont know many now who havent had Covid at least once. I have just had my boosters etc.

I do agree though I think some sensible isolation plan for close contacts - maybe PCR day 3 to release (given the 3 day innoculation period) then LFTs or for 12-18 LFTs for 10 days. Particularly for household contacts.

It makes no difference to my own health, I you g, no underlying health problems and had covid before my vaccine and was fine. I was told to have it to protect others. I did. I believed them. [/quote]
What? Of course it makes a difference to your own health. Are you drunk?

Minimal restrictions BUT will keep the parties off the front pages - job done.

The vaccines are not given so that you can go to the pub and have a holiday abroad. They are for preventing you becoming seriously ill and ending up in hospital (or dying).

That seems like a pretty good reason to have it, but you do you.

There is no difference to my life with these measures.
Every day I have to run a gauntlet of very many maskless people in cramped spaces with no ventilation.

Let us life our lives.

Me too. The feeling of powerlessness is awful. This is it now. We will never get off this merry-go-round. What's the point in anything.

The booster does help against Omicron - at least Pfizer have announced that today - they are not sure if two jabs will offer fuller protection.

Gavin Williamson had a party for his staff last year too. I'm sure Bojo doesn't know that happened either because he walked around with his fingers in his ears and a mask over his eyes. Grin

Are you happy to have jab after jab and still have restrictions?
I had covid before my vaccine and was just fine. I had both vaccines as I was told it would protect others. Everyone has been offered the vaccine and over 40's the booster and we are back here today. The vaccines are not working if we have to go back to restrictions.
