But it's not much different to now is it? What aspect is making you so cross?
wincarwoo · 08/12/2021 18:31

God I hate WFH and DH WFH so much. I might bury him under the patio.

But no option but to suck it up.

wincarwoo · 08/12/2021 18:32

@Abraxan wfh I imagine. Kills all the businesses supporting those at work. Is miserable for those who don't have the space/environment to wfh.

EmmaWoodhousestreehouse · 08/12/2021 18:32

@Undisclosedlocation

Hmmm ‘alas, alack ,plan B, waffle, lies and half truths’ would be my guess.

Basically he will say anything and everything he can to get tomorrows headlines off of party shenanigans last year. The b*stard is playing us as per usual

He just can’t answer a question can he. No one pulls him up on it either. It’s so frustrating.
PutmeontheNaughtyList · 08/12/2021 18:33

Has there been any mention or questions about a review date?

hygtt · 08/12/2021 18:33

Sorry to hear that. It's a shame people who claim to "care about others" don't care about those who could lose their livelihoods.
thewhatsit · 08/12/2021 18:34
  • Yes so it ends because there's NO POINT IN IT

Huh? You can’t include boosters in the Covid pass when under 40s haven’t been invited yet. You can’t say 6 months from last vaccination as some under 40s are already past this and still not eligible. You can’t say 40+ have to have had 3 jabs as some might only have just had their second, if they’d delayed.

If boosters become part of the Covid past and fully vaccinated = 3 jabs (which I believe it will) everyone needs to have been offered them first. Surely this is just common sense.

It doesn’t make the booster programme redundant as a) they will probably be necessary for Covid pass purposes by end of Jan and b) it helps .. you know … protect those at risk from serious illness and death, which is kind of the point.

I'm sorry.

The gushing tribute to Allegra was both a signal to Those Who Matter that "she was only the fall guy, and please give her a great new well paid job"...and also a sop to any powerful friends she has who might take against Boris for the scapegoating of their friend.

Back, meet scratch.

colouringindoors · 08/12/2021 18:35

Nothing about children, and schools. Almost no-one wearing a mask in the big secondary I work in.

What’s the point of lockdowns? We’ve done that. I think we are just going to have to crawl through this, and just accept that people will succumb to covid (including me, whaddayado) and get the Nightingale hospitals going again. Possibly there will have to be age triage in hospitals and indeed the unvaccinated (adults) at the back of the queue if their outcomes are likely to be worse than a vaccinated patient.

Such is the seeding and transmission rate of this variant that only a months-long worldwide simultaneous lockdown would work (and no fuel, no food, no medical assistance during this time) which is clearly ludicrous - so we are stuck with where we are.

whynotwhatknot · 08/12/2021 18:36

Ive read its mainly colds and headaches with some people getting extreme fatigue

DoubleShotEspresso · 08/12/2021 18:36

So zero incentive to get vaccinated
No change to the insanity that is current household isolation guidelines
Covid passports can be circumvented by any random LFT
No reference to schools transmission, lack of mitigating measures
WFH but go to the pub or whatever
Have we learned nothing????
This is so senseless I really hope we don't end up in lockdown again

twelly · 08/12/2021 18:37

I think agree with these new measures - I didn't agree with any lockdown - up and until we have followed all the regulations and not broken them once despite not agreeing with them. However, now I will not follow the regulations if they do fit in with the my actions - no point.

AmyFl · 08/12/2021 18:37

STILL praising Allegra! He can't read the room.Angry

KisstheTeapot14 · 08/12/2021 18:37

@viques Surely Not? Our lovely leader?

Baldrick: I've got a plan!
Blackadder: And is it a cunning one Baldrick?

Noeuf · 08/12/2021 18:37

Wtf you’d think Allegra had been promoted! And he hasn’t listened to what she said anyway.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/12/2021 18:37

It's going to go through the population whatever we do so any restrictions are totally pointless

Precisely

And because Covid's going nowhere there'll be another variant next year, and the one after that, and the one after that ad infinitum, and they'll probably go through much of the population too ... which all makes me wonder just how long folk will keep getting themselves into a state over whatever the latest scare tactic is

wincarwoo · 08/12/2021 18:38

I have it at the moment. First sign was waking with a banging headache. Then I noticed I'd lost all my sense of smell/taste about 4 hours later. Also have had cold symptoms.
