Wiped out after covid booster

Has anyone else felt wiped out after their covid booster? I had it 6 days ago now and am still exhausted. I napped for an hour both afternoons this weekend! I had the usual sore arm and felt very achey the day after, but am wondering if this fatigue is connected. I've had Pfizer every time and am in my 40s (healthcare worker so testing weekly and def not covid)

DH and I had Moderna boosters on Friday afternoon (after two AZ with no side-effects). He’s been fine, I’ve had a stinking headache and flu-type aches (particularly my legs). Managed to keep going, but with lots of rest.

Checking in again - moderna booster on Friday, still nothing worse than a sore arm. I didn't really react to my first two AZ either.

@Turkishangora

Completely floored by Pfizer booster, high temp, chills, sweats, shivering, tachycardia, had to cancel loads of plans and spend weekend on sofa. I actually think I was a bit delirious. Basically slept non stop when racing heart would allow. Horrible. In 2 minds about getting another.
I think that would be enough to put me off as well
FindingMeno · 12/12/2021 09:14

No side effects with the two AZ.
Moderna booster has left me a bit achey, and with a sore arm. But no big deal - I'll pop a couple of ibuprofen and good to go.
I was so ill after mine I had to seek medical advice - took me about a week to get over it. Absolutely terrifying to the point I will not get any more. You also need to take a pcr if you haven't already done so. Please report your symptoms to coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/
😱
Blimey!
Hope you’re ok now.
I must admit if I saw bleeding out of any orifices that haven’t bled for years I’d be past myself too.

Two AZ earlier this year and no side effects from either.

Moderna yesterday afternoon and so far nothing, no more tired than I normally am as peri menopausal and newly on HRT.

Arm is slightly tender, but hardly noticeable.

I was expecting a host of side effects after hearing others, so just hopping on to say I've had the same non reaction so far (jab 2pm yesterday).

Either I have the world's worst or best immune system ... my son (11) had covid a few weeks ago and I didn't get it, so hoping it's the latter.

MargaretThursday · 12/12/2021 11:04

I had mine yesterday.
I have a sore arm and feel mildly hot, and tired. It's so far been easier than the first two.
I had AZ first and now pfizer.

Double3xposure · 12/12/2021 13:59

Please please everyone - don’t be put off getting your booster.

Even on here, most people have only had minor side effects like feeling unwell / tired for a few days/ week and having a sore arm. This is much less unwell than you will likely be if you catch covid.

And remember the thousands of MNers who are not posting here because they had NO side effects at all.

Please don’t take the risk.

I had my Pfizer booster on wednesday and am still floored from it. Had a weekend mainly in bed with flu symptoms, a fever, sore arm, headache, and awful joint pains. Worst part has been the racing heart, I rang 111 it was so bad yesterday but they said it's a normal reaction and to see GP if it carries on after 7 days.

Not having another, I thought the AZ was bad enough but this is horrific.

TremoloGreen · 12/12/2021 19:53

Agree with those saying please get the booster. I've just had covid (caught a couple of weeks before I was due to get the booster) and it was grim, I was very ill for ten days and my husband had trouble breathing and low oxygen at one point, I thought he would have to go into hospital.

Compared to a day or so of feeling a bit rough after the jab, I know what I'd prefer.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/12/2021 20:38

I had two Moderna jabs, then the Moderna booster yesterday. I felt a bit rough after the second jab but really feel awful today after the booster - so weird when it is a half dose!

However agree with pp, grateful to have had it, and also hoping I will feel better tomorrow.

lap90 · 12/12/2021 21:49

I actually only had a bit of a sore arm, as was the case with prior jabs. I do tend to drink a shit ton of water on the day and move my arm around in circles all day 🤣🤣

Macaroni46 · 12/12/2021 21:52

I feel absolutely dreadful. Had my booster yesterday along with the flu jab. Think that was my mistake - having both on the same day.
Have been in bed all day. Burning up but shivering at same time, body aching, headache and nausea. Haven't felt this unwell since I had a kidney infection!

WarriorN · 13/12/2021 07:15

Ah no @TremoloGreen I hope you feel better soon.

Several colleagues have caught it this term at work and two are really quite unwell. All double jabbed. One seems to have long Covid but may still be too soon to tell. But we knew this was coming; so many staff caught it in the summer not long after their double jabs. I did notice those that had had the jabs v early in the year were more badly affected. (Many seemed to have been able to find ways to get it early, often do outreach and support young people with Sen at weekends)

It seems to be the luck of the draw; I had moderna booster after 2 AZ and it's been the easiest one yet. On the third day (yesterday) v slight headache in the afternoon but painkillers worked (they didn't even touch it with AZ)

Dh had two moderna and then Pfizer. He's been very achey, but otherwise ok. I think his second jab was the worst.

ImmutableSexQueen · 13/12/2021 11:06

@Redshoeblueshoe

I had no issues. My first 2 were AZ and I think my booster was Pfizer. I'm not particularly healthy and I'm a fair bit older than you Xmas Shock
I'm hoping for this. Had 2AZs and my Pfizer this morning. Felt a bit funny afterwards but as I hadn't slept much, it might not have been because of the jab.
jjk26 · 18/12/2021 18:12

I’m in the US. Had Pfizer for all three. My booster was last week (Dec 8). I had a sore arm and felt very tired the next day. Laid on the couch pretty much all morning (while kids were in school). However two days ago I started feeling unwell. Fever and now diarrhea. And a little achy too. I don’t think it has to do with the booster since i had it one week ago. But I don’t know what it is either. Stomach virus? Nobody else in my house is feeling this way.
