Wiped out after covid booster

Has anyone else felt wiped out after their covid booster? I had it 6 days ago now and am still exhausted. I napped for an hour both afternoons this weekend! I had the usual sore arm and felt very achey the day after, but am wondering if this fatigue is connected. I've had Pfizer every time and am in my 40s (healthcare worker so testing weekly and def not covid)

My Moderna booster, knocked me sideways and I spent two days in bed with the worst flu symptoms, everything ached, shivers, headache, sore throat. It took about a week to feel half normal.

Two AZ followed by a Pfizer - no side effects after any of them

@IamEarthymama

DW and I had Moderna booster on Saturday. Fine all that day, though our arms were sore, but yesterday we were sweating while feeling freezing cold and the vice versa, both randomly sneezing and coughing, aching and falling asleep if we sat down. Everything tasted metallic to me while DW has had several nose bleeds.

I have swopped work today with a colleague and DW is still in bed, feeling awful.

Ii had covid in March 2020, was quite poorly but luckily not hospitalised, though left with long covid. I was fluey after first jab, ok after 2nd.
I had Covid for the 2nd time 2 months ago as did DW. We both had Novid quite badly beforehand too.

I worked for over 20 years with young children and caught everything they did so I am not surprised that I have had these reactions. ☺️

I do not want to have Covid again, it's not nice at all. I wear a mask in public places and wash my hands frequently.

I think and hope I will be fine by tomorrow. My feet are like ice today so I am just going to find some thick socks and to fill a hot water bottle.

I hope everyone feels better soon. 💐

That's quite scary with the nose bleeds etc. Hope you are all feeling better soon.

Yes I've been feeling really tired after my booster last week. Not sleeping well and a mild headache constantly. A bit like that "just under par but not sure why" feeling you get at the start of an illness.

In a way I'm sort of glad cos it shows my body is reacting so if it comes up against the real thing, hopefully it will react again attack and destroy! Grin

Pfizer booster after 2 AZ jabs.

TremoloGreen · 06/12/2021 11:43

Hi there, I am recovering from COVID at the moment (previously double-jabbed with AZ). No symptoms any more except fatigue. I am due to have the booster on 17th December but wondering whether to delay it based on the fact I've had COVID recently (so a mini-booster) and I can't afford any more illness this year. Anyone done similar?

CounsellorTroi · 06/12/2021 12:14

I had my booster yesterday. Moderna, first two were AZ. I feel like shit today, arm is killing me. Felt shit after the first AZ too.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 06/12/2021 12:28

5 boosters in my close family so far, 2 Moderna, 3 Pfizer. No one had any reaction other than a sore arm and very mild cold symptoms.

When I had my booster, I was asked if I had had covid in the last month.

I suspect they might not let you have it yet.

Hen2018 · 06/12/2021 15:29

Ill for 2-3 days after 1st AZ.

No side effects after 2nd AZ or Pfizer booster.

Theoldcuriosityshop · 06/12/2021 15:33

Had AZ for the first two. First one had a sore arm, second nothing and booster with Pfizer nothing either. Sorry you're feeling rotten.

ColdShouldersWarmTummy · 06/12/2021 15:34

I was fine with mine but my partner (who has an autoimmune condition and CFS) has been completely knocked out for weeks after each of his jabs (all Pfizer). Covid would obviously be much worse but it still sucks, especially if we're going to need them every 6 months Sad.

oopsydoopsy · 06/12/2021 15:44

Had mine yesterday, Pfizer booster after 2 doses of AZ, felt rubbish by the evening, came home from work (luckily only work mornings) and fell asleep on the sofa for an hour! Feel really cold and achy too. I'm hoping it doesn't last too long.

Seashanty3 · 06/12/2021 15:49

Had my Pfizer on the Friday, felt exhausted and headachy til the Monday.... then tested positive for Covid.

The new varient is unlikely to show up on a PCR

What's your source for this?

SandPerson · 06/12/2021 16:09

@Whataday21

Google it

Multiple news outlets have said this!

@Whataday21

Sorry i mean LFT

Kshhuxnxk · 06/12/2021 16:15

I was so ill after mine I had to seek medical advice - took me about a week to get over it. Absolutely terrifying to the point I will not get any more. You also need to take a pcr if you haven't already done so. Please report your symptoms to coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

Seeline · 06/12/2021 16:16

PCR tests can detect those infected with the Omicron variant. It is likely that lateral flow tests will detect infections caused by Omicron; research is underway to verify this.

From the government website post.parliament.uk/covid-19-the-omicron-variant/

Seeline · 06/12/2021 16:19

Same website also states that LFTs will still detect covid infection with Omicron, they cannot determine actual mutation of covid. So keep testing!

JMAngel1 · 06/12/2021 16:53

Oh god that's confirmed it for me that I'm going to wait until Jan to get mine - can't afford to be ill this close to Xmas.
I was wiped out with my first AZ vaccine, fine with second. Bit worried about mixing over to Pfizer tbh for booster. There really isn't much data on switching between brands like we're all being asked to do like it's no problem.

Cyrilgoggin · 06/12/2021 16:57

JMAngel I think people are more likely to respond on here if they have had side effects than if they haven't. I know lots of people who have been absolutely fine after their boosters, or just felt a bit tired.

Misty9 · 06/12/2021 18:19

Evening! Sorry to hear of all the poorly people :( hope you all feel better soon. I feel a bit less fatigued today and haven't napped so far - yay! I would definitely advocate getting the vaccine for most as it's a nasty virus. I have various query autoimmune issues so I suspect triggering my immune system is something to do with my reaction. eclipsechips · 06/12/2021 18:23

Yes, completely. I had mine on Friday- Pfizer after 2 AstraZeneca and I feel awful. I just can't get a heat in me, my head is constantly thumping and my lymph nodes are swollen so it's like I have a tennis ball in my armpit.

Auntycorruption · 06/12/2021 18:31

Testing weekly is not frequent enough to know it's not covid.
