Can we walk on a field?

ilost · 20/11/2021 13:01

Field 2 mins from house. Massive field, won't be near anyone.

Kids are going crazy. Dogs not been walked for a week.

Can't see the harm when we won't be touching anything or be near anyone?

OP posts:

@AmadeustheAlpaca

Yes, go for a walk. Your child is distressed and crying, you won't go anywhere near anyone and it's cruel for your dogs not to walk them. This isn't aimed at you OP but so many people have lost their commonsense and any sense of proportion.
This!
dementedpixie · 20/11/2021 14:08

Just do it. Stay away from anyone

Couchbettato · 20/11/2021 14:08

Wouldn't even bother posting about it. Just go.

Eeiliethya · 20/11/2021 14:09

OP, common sense needs to prevail here, if you aren't going to come into contact with anybody on the field then go.

Grass cannot catch COVID.

Go and enjoy your walk, blow some cobwebs off, I'm sure it will do you good Smile

shinynewapple21 · 20/11/2021 14:10

Mostly you will get replies telling you it's illegal and what would happen if you had an accident and had to call emergency services .

If it was me and I lived in the situation you are I certainly would do. Take some hand gel to use before touching any gates and a mask in case you have to pass by any other people .

shouldistop · 20/11/2021 14:13

@Pootle40

I wouldn't waste time posting on here. What on earth do you think will happen if you go out in the middle of nowhere.
This. Why ask strangers on the internet, half of whom seem to be suffering from anxiety tbh. You know you can't pass a virus to people if you're not near anyone.
FindingMeno · 20/11/2021 14:13

You aren't going to hurt anyone, so go.

GreyhoundG1rl · 20/11/2021 14:14

Yes, go on.

spotcheck · 20/11/2021 14:16

God yes!

Iggly · 20/11/2021 14:16

Who has covid? All of you?

DownWhichOfLate · 20/11/2021 14:17

Do it. Right now. You will feel so much better for it!

clarrylove · 20/11/2021 14:22

So what happens if someone sees you? Your daughter's friends maybe? And run up to speak to her. What do you say, 'stay away we all have Covid!'.

Topseyt · 20/11/2021 14:23

Of course you can go. You won't be near to anyone.

Honestly, nobody but a few oddbods on places like this gives a shit anymore providing that you aren't going into packed indoor spaces while stuffed full of Covid.

I wouldn't give a shit about it being illegal. If you aren't going to meet anyone then who will know, unless you announce it?

GreyhoundG1rl · 20/11/2021 14:26

@ilost

I know I'm being unreasonable and the rules are there for a reason but I would never consider going anywhere near people.

I won't do it.

Just sat here fantasising about stretching my legs Blush

Oh, just do it. I wouldn't normally say that, but when there's a distressed child involved it's a whole different ball game.
megletthesecond · 20/11/2021 14:29

I would. You're outside.

Part of the reason we got in such a mess is because people / government couldn't get it into their heads it's airborne and ventilation reduces the spread. No one is going to catch it from you in a field.

Reallybadidea · 20/11/2021 14:33

@clarrylove

So what happens if someone sees you? Your daughter's friends maybe? And run up to speak to her. What do you say, 'stay away we all have Covid!'.
Yes, that would seem a sensible thing to do.
Wilkolampshade · 20/11/2021 14:33

Well no, but I would.

Reallybadidea · 20/11/2021 14:34

I honestly can't see how the OP's plan is any less risky than allowing a child who has a household member with covid to continue going to school.

OinkPinkPonk · 20/11/2021 14:34

Do it op

littlelordfuckleroy · 20/11/2021 14:34

@HirplesWithHaggis

No winter crops or livestock? Should be fine.
Winter crops?
Reallybadidea · 20/11/2021 14:35

*more risky not less Blush

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 20/11/2021 14:35

If you can get there without seeing anyone then yes I would (and did)
Fresh air and exercise is good for you and it will do no harm to anyone

Theplantisgrowing · 20/11/2021 14:37

Yes I'd go, this is all madness now

HirplesWithHaggis · 20/11/2021 14:43

Winter crops?

Wheat and barley look like grass at this time of year, newly germinated. Farms may also have root veg (eg sugar beet) in the ground, but they're more obvious.

PandaP0p · 20/11/2021 14:43

Are we really at a stage where you're incapable of making your own decision on this because some people on a forum tell you not to?

I honestly despair. Just go for a bloody walk
