Can we walk on a field?

Field 2 mins from house. Massive field, won't be near anyone.

Kids are going crazy. Dogs not been walked for a week.

Can't see the harm when we won't be touching anything or be near anyone?

@Theplantisgrowing

Motherdare

I would ask for this to be deleted.

And go for your walk.

How on earth would she be identified from this thread - woman and toddler go for walk on playing field....Hmm

Honestly 😂 Anyone living adjacent to a field be on high alert for woman having the temerity to walk in it.
Right...
Warhertisuff · 20/11/2021 18:59

Use your common sense and go... there is no risk here. As for twisting your ankle, you're just as likely to be injured at home!

Who are these people who are so obsessed with having to obey rules so utterly rigidly and slavishly? I don't think I've ever met people quite like that! They'd probably chop off their hands if the Government told them too...

There's a field a few hundred metres from me... I'll be sure to be watching from bedroom window with my binoculars (with my mask on - you can't be too careful). My only question is whether I should call 101 or 999 if I see someone matches the OP's description?

Bagelsandbrie · 20/11/2021 19:14

People are bonkers.

If it’s a rural, empty field how on earth is anyone likely to spread covid?

We had all this nonsense during the first lockdown with people like me who live rurally still going on walks (as we were allowed to do anyway) over fields etc and people saying how irresponsible we were because everyone should “stay the fuck home”. Covid can’t pass person to person if there are no other people….!

SarahJeffers341 · 20/11/2021 19:28

YES! Don’t even ask just do it.

CouldThisReallyBe · 20/11/2021 19:33

FFS with the "no it's illegal". OP considering the risk vs benefit I'd just go!

OliveTree75 · 20/11/2021 19:34

Just do it OP

FreshFreesias · 20/11/2021 19:36

Why do you need permission to go for a walk?
Covid cultism at its finest.

generalh · 20/11/2021 19:42

OP, I hope your daughter and the dogs enjoyed the walk.

I would

HesterShaw1 · 21/11/2021 00:19

@SandraYeason

It's hard to believe the amount of selfishness on this thread and law breaking, do none of you bother about breaking the rules? I appreciate that Hancock and Boris have made mistakes but if we all followed the rules then we would be in a better place instead of near breakdown in society.

You mustn't go out and lock doors if need be to ensure family members don't break isolation rules. If you must go out, at least have the decency to wear a mask and in the event of meeting someone can't you take some sort of hooter or bell to announce your covid status? It may sound silly but what's the alternative. I read on facebook the chances of dying from covid are comparable to rolling two 1s with 2 dice if over 40 so why the hell would you want to risk someones life?

I don't care about breaking the "rules" if it's clear nothing bas will happen as a result.

God I loathe the way Covid has robbed people of the ability to think critically.

Just go OP. Yes of course it's illegal. Furthermore, you won't see anyone so it hardly matters.

goldfluffyclouds · 21/11/2021 00:47

Yes go for the walk.
We had covid as a family and a couple of times in our isolation period we had a secret night time walk to stretch our legs and get some fresh air. It did us all the world of good both physically and mentally.
By going at night we weren't seen and we didn't come across anyone.

Your post makes no sense.

The OP is probably wary because it goes against the guidance to isolate. How is that not a logical reaction?

Remmy123 · 21/11/2021 07:46

I wouid go

You can read a lot of crap on Facebook.... That's a 1 in 36 chance or about 3%. The chance of dying is nowhere near 3%, especially if vaccinated!

Justcannotbearsed · 21/11/2021 07:50

The guidance says it’s fine, go.

clatterclatter · 21/11/2021 07:52

Yes of course just go!

What guidance? Its illegal to leave the house with covid Confused
Chakraleaf · 21/11/2021 07:54

Well technically not, but I would.

ILookAtTheFloor · 21/11/2021 08:03

I definitely would.

dementedpixie · 21/11/2021 08:05

@rainbowandglitter did you read the links previous posters have put on the thread? There are exceptions for several reasons

Justcannotbearsed · 21/11/2021 08:10

[quote JanglyBeads]This is at the end of the official advice about isolating:

^ People with learning disabilities, autism or serious mental illnesses

Not all these measures will be possible if you, or those you live with, have conditions such as learning disabilities, autism or serious mental illnesses. Follow this guidance to the best of your ability, while keeping yourself and those close to you safe and well, ideally in line with any existing care plans.^
