Pfizer / Moderna booster after AZ initial jabs

Has anyone had this? I've had my invitation for my booster and am a bit concerned as I just felt a bit poorly after my first 2 jabs that having a difference vaccine might cause problems...

I had my booster on Saturday - AZ + AZ previously, and was in bed for a day or so with the first one, feeling fluey and fairly out of it; not much affected (though perhaps a bit tired) by the second.

I got Pfizer for the booster and it turned out this was purely by chance, according to the day I'd booked - my local hospital gives Moderna on two days of the week and Pfizer the rest of the time. Anyway, I've been basically fine. Arm a bit sore the next day but almost back to normal now. Maybe a slight headache and possibly a touch achey in hips/shoulders, but then again that could just be because I went out sweeping up leaves from the lawn after having the jab Smile

DH had pfizer booster after 2 AZ. absolutely fine. although had a very bizarre cold head. he did feel grotty after first AZ.

I had pfizer booster after 2 pfizer jabs and felt shivery, achey and fluey for a few days. Could carry on but def noticed it. Also my resting heart rate on my fitbit shot straight up so my body knew something was up!

CrepuscularCritter · 22/11/2021 11:48

2 x AZ fine. Booster Pfizer gave me a sore enough arm to wake me up on the first night, but apart from that, no issues at all.

makingmiracles · 22/11/2021 13:42

So I had my booster Fri morning first thing, all fine. Woke up sat feeling fine, started my shift at 7am then at 9am I was a mess, sweating, chills, head pain, nausea, joints hurt all over, at points I wasn’t sure if I was going to throw up or pass out, was not pleasant. Same time roughly as I felt bad for with the first az, 10ish hrs.

Glad it’s over but can’t say I’m that enthused to have another at any point, also bizarrely, just like my first az vax I’ve woke up 2 days later with the biggest head cold, totally bunged up, sinuses blocked, sneezing, eyes watering etc etc really hope it doesn’t last as long though as the one after first jab lasted best part of 5weeks.
Think the vaccines must disrupt my immune system, seems abit too familiar to be coincidental.

Ironically on the morning I was vaxd-Fri, that eve dd11 tested pos on lft, so far everyone else negative. Really hope it stays that way as can’t imagine having a cold with covid on top 😭

Had Pfizer booster today after 2xAZ. Quite reassured by most of the comments on here. Watch this space!

LSLLM · 23/11/2021 21:42

Ok I thought I was fine with AZ/AZ/Moderna but I woke up the next day feeling horrific with the sorest jab arm ever. The ill feeling passed quickly however

itsacat · 23/11/2021 21:57

Mild case of Bells Palsy here. I am not keen on having any further anything. I had covid before both jabs and handled it ok, and my conclusion is that I am therefore unlikely to end up in ICU or dead if I catch it again, so for me personally a booster would not be of any interest. But we have no choice if we want to be able to travel, or, should domestic covid passports be introduced, live a normal life.

JaffavsCookie · 23/11/2021 22:15

AZ, AZ here, mid fifties, not quite eligible for a booster. Caught covid from work, am a teacher and i have been iller than i have been for years. Still not ready to go back to work, can’t manage a whole day out of bed etc etc.
My DH who got his booster about 3 weeks before i caught covid has been totally fine.
Can’t help wishing there had been some priority in who was vaccinated at the start of the programme in terms of jobs, plenty of my friends who are still either wfh full time, or in the office one day a week have already become eligible for their boosters.

knittingaddict · 23/11/2021 22:28

Husband had Pfizer today after having AZ for the initial vaccines. He is fine so far. I have mine tomorrow and not at all worried. I will report back on what happens.

knittingaddict · 23/11/2021 22:33

I should say that I was ok with the AZ. I had a sore arm for weeks after the first vaccine, but that all was all and a small price to pay. I still painted the hall the weekend of having it and it didn't have any impact on my daily life at all. I had nothing with the second vaccine.

Compared with what I think was covid early in 2020, having the vaccine was a walk in the park. Give me the vaccine any day.

knittingaddict · 23/11/2021 22:39

If you have REAL covid, surely your immunity is now far better than any booster to provide, so why bother

But why not have it thenightsky. It's not a massive inconvenience and might offer more protection. Having the vaccine is certainly not going to reduce the protection, is it?

23MinutesfromTuIseHill · 23/11/2021 22:45

Went to lift the cat off the sofa so I could lie down - big mistake
Oh yes. But I don't think bone-deep slashes are vaccine side-effects, to be fair, @ArblemarchTFruitbat

IsadoraMoon · 25/11/2021 20:19

AZ AZ Moderna, had moderna yesterday lunchtime felt fine but arm pretty painful around injection site, now feeling pretty exhausted and slightly nauseous but in no way bedridden, I know I was exposed to a colleague who tested positive yesterday tho so hoping I've not actually caught real Covid in the meantime!

GaribaldiGirl · 25/11/2021 20:22

Had Covid (mildly!) then AZ AZ jabs. Felt totally awful after first jab for 24 hours, fine after second.
Had Pfizer booster on Tuesday and have felt a bit rubbish since, achey, shaky and upset tummy.

Billandben444 · 26/11/2021 07:31

AZ, AZ and Pfizer yesterday. Slightly sore arm with first 2, mega sore arm with Pfizer in the night and headache, diarrhoea, stomach pains and dizzy this morning. A bed day today.

Shellingbynight · 26/11/2021 08:34

AZ, AZ and Moderna.

Felt unwell after AZ1 for 48 hours, severe headache, dizzy, tired, sore arm
Fine after AZ2
Moderna - sore arm, headache and tired for 24 hours, then fine. Nowhere near as bad as AZ1.

whatisforteamum · 26/11/2021 09:11

So far so good only sore arm after booster.
Get well soon Bill and ben444.

GoodnightGrandma · 26/11/2021 09:13

I was fine after Pfizer booster. DP was ill for two days after Moderna booster.
Both had AZ for first two.

Katkincake · 26/11/2021 13:53

Came looking for this thread as I’ve just had Moderna an hour ago (AZ for 1st jabs) DH and I went at same time. We were both wiped out for a few hrs by 1st AZ (thankfully we had them 3days apart to each other).

We both immediately felt odd as we did the sit and wait for 15mins. Now feel dizzy and shaky. My mum was ill for 24hrs after her booster and I generally follow her for health (dad was fine) so bracing myself. Thankfully it’s the weekend tomorrow so DS can just watch TV all day if we’re ill.

Whathefisgoingon · 26/11/2021 14:02

My dad did and I’m glad! He’s 76. He had no side effects after AZ, but felt tired and had a sore arm after his Pfizer.
