Has anyone had this? I've had my invitation for my booster and am a bit concerned as I just felt a bit poorly after my first 2 jabs that having a difference vaccine might cause problems...

AZ AZ Pfizer: Reacted to first AZ, No reaction to 2nd AZ. Felt like full blown flu symptoms 17 hours after Pfizer which lasted 5 days

TheGriffle · 20/11/2021 20:17

I’ve got my booster booked for next week, i had AZ for my first 2 jabs and don’t know which this one will be. First jab knocked me off my feet for a couple of days, 2nd one, no side effects at all. I’ve got it booked for a Friday morning when I’m off work just in case.

LSLLM · 20/11/2021 20:22

I’ve had my booster today and so far I’m ok. Probably cursed myself saying that. My AZs made me sleepy within hours however.

unluckyinlife · 20/11/2021 20:51

I had Pfizer originally and had a moderna booster.
I felt rubbish for 48 hours. But compared to the risk of suffering with Covid I think its well work the temporary suffering x

Floralnomad · 20/11/2021 20:55

My daughter had AZ for the first 2 , was very unwell after the first , fine after the 2nd , had a Pfizer booster last week and has had a sore arm .

thismeansnothing · 20/11/2021 21:02

Husband had Pfizer after AZ jabs. He had a sore arm and felt a bit sluggish for a day but was otherwise fine

HelloDaisy · 20/11/2021 21:27

Dh had AZ for the first two and had Pfizer for his third. They said he couldn’t have Moderna this time as it contraindicated due to allergies to other meds he’s been on before.
He’s been fine this time with no side affects.

He was told this was the third and he’d be called back for booster in the spring…

I thought this third one WAS the booster? Confused

Oh fuck. I've just booked my pfizer booster after AZ reaction exactly like this
IncessantNameChanger · 20/11/2021 21:44

I'm sure it's not related but I ended up in hospital after my first AZ and only had the second as I thought I would be fully protected. I didnt know it would need boosting every six months.

I'm have tempted to see if there is going to be another booster after this 6 month one tbh and string it out for longer.

I dont normally get my flu vaccine every year either.

I get that complications are extremely rare but that no comfort if your that extremely rare person.

I'd rather feel shit after Christmas tbh

notangelinajolie · 20/11/2021 21:49

Had Moderna booster today after 2 AZ. I felt no side effects after AZ and so far no side effects from Moderna.

I was expecting Pfizer because that is what DH had yesterday (he had the choice)They must have run out of Pfizer Confused not sure if that is a good or a bad thing.

But hey ho, whatever jab I got, I'm done now and a hell of a lot safer than I would be without.

NotMyCat · 20/11/2021 22:24

@thenightsky I reacted to first AZ, not to second and my Pfizer booster was fine. I had the flu jab at the same time and that arm was more sore!

BlibBlabBlob · 20/11/2021 22:55

Placemarking too. Early 40s, had AZ in April and July. Had actual COVID in October and overall it made me less ill than the first AZ jab did. Can't see myself signing up for a 2022 booster jab now that I have natural immunity but I guess we'll just have to see how things go.

Would be interested to know if there are any case studies of double-vaccinated people catching COVID after two jabs, being very mildly ill, then catching COVID again further down the line and becoming dangerously ill with it. Gut feeling is that I'd rather not have any more jabs against this particular virus.

RedRosie · 20/11/2021 23:12

Pfizer, Pfizer, Moderna. Ok so far!

Thisisconfusing · 21/11/2021 00:45

AZ AZ ( felt more or less fine) Pfizer Booster - felt really rough for 2 days
Husband AZAZ Pfizer felt fine
On balance 50% I know have had worse side effects on getting booster of has AZ first . Yet someone I knew who was bedridden after first AZ was fine with booster .

ILoveMyCaravan · 21/11/2021 01:36

AZ AZ and Moderna yesterday. Felt quite rough after the AZs but absolutely no reaction to the Moderna apart from a very sore arm.

RichTeaRichTea · 21/11/2021 07:02

I had 2 x AZ with minimal side effects - I think just a headache after the first that went away with paracetamol. Pfizer booster that had me bedridden with flu symptoms for two days. Fortunately I was able to book for the Friday just in case I felt awful so the worst of it was over the weekend when my husband was here as I wouldn’t have been able to look after the children.

user97533676 · 21/11/2021 09:24

Pfizer booster after AZ.
I'm early 20s and a week on my arm is still extremely itchy.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 21/11/2021 11:28

Placemarking as have just had Moderna after AZ/AZ. Felt awful after both AZs.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 21/11/2021 16:02

... several hours later, feel dreadful. Arm really hurting and I can't warm up at all. Sad

amicissimma · 21/11/2021 16:16

AZ1 - fluey and achey for about 8 hours
AZ2 - fine
Moderna - arm a bit sore for about 3 days, but oddly didn't hurt to lie on

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 21/11/2021 16:19

I'm trying not to use my arm. Went to lift the cat off the sofa so I could lie down - big mistake.

anniegun · 21/11/2021 16:22

No reaction to any of them AZ/AZ/Pfizer
However the Covid I had was dreadful - 4 weeks in bed (pre vaccination)

Mindymomo · 21/11/2021 16:55

No reaction to the 2 AZ. Booster Pfizer 2 days ago, can feel where I was jabbed, but no side effects at all.

notangelinajolie · 21/11/2021 23:25

Think I'm now in side effect mode from my Moderna booster yesterday. Or I hope it is side effects. Took a lateral flow and it's negative but will do another in the morning. Woke up this morning with achy hips and wrists. Have a headache, a hot face, cold hands and feet, feel shivery and a temp if 38 3. It's Covid isn't it 😨🤒
