Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?

I've just had my antibody result back - surprise!! I have antibodies from a recent infection. No shit Sherlock. It does say that I have them from previous infection or vaccination too, which is good I guess because I'm due my booster last week.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 13/11/2021 09:00

Another day 6 here
I also feel crap
My sleep is terrible and I’ve realised that all the co-codanol I’ve been taking has constipated me

It’s so wierd , as I just feel generally achey , headache y , woozy and wiped
My mental health ain’t great either

I just wake up and don’t feel better !!

I was getting paranoid that maybe it’s me and I was in a high state of stress when covid hit , but reading this thread makes me realise it’s totally par for the course

elliesmummy19 · 13/11/2021 10:16

Day 2! And symptoms have hit but really strange ones. I had a weird rash all over my face, neck and shoulders last night (plus a temperature) and felt like my head was going to explode.

This morning I have this odd pain in my stomach and feel nauseous. Could be unrelated though. Also a bit breathless and reeeeally tired even though I slept for like 12 hours.

Husband is negative for now so can go out to get supplies at least.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 13/11/2021 10:26

Day 6 here as well. Nose is so blocked and aches and pains have returned although I've not taken any ibuprofen yet today. Feel knackered and nauseous and ran out of milk and bread.

newnameagain99 · 13/11/2021 10:34

I'm on day 7. Not too bad really, but not actually doing anything. Out of breath when I exert myself. No taste or smell since day 4. General headache & fatigue and blocked nose. I go back to work next Wednesday- 12 hour shift and I'm really worried about getting through it. We're so short staffed that I have to go back.

Also worried about dh. He's on day 4 and last night his oximeter reading was at 90%. On me it fluctuated between 97/99, but on him it went from 88/92. This morning it's at 92/93. He says he's just a bit breathless, but I'm watching him closely.

Rainydays55 · 13/11/2021 10:59

Last day of isolation for me and I am so tired!! Please someone give me some tips on how to shake it off?! Feel knackered and still spaced out/floaty, all I’m doing is resting, I don’t know what else I can do?

covidish · 13/11/2021 11:43

Day 4 for me and have every symptom under the sun and am double jabbed

I think for him you should call 111 NHS advice is seek medical help at that level

No tips - it's just about time.

I'm on the same day as you. Yesterday was great - felt really with-it, could think clearly etc. Didn't do much physically though, thought should continue to rest. Today I woke up fine, have had a shower, cooked myself some food... am now sat on the sofa with a banging headache again, everything is too bright, am all woozy and could just go back to bed.

So... who knows.

Rainydays55 · 13/11/2021 11:58

@RuleWithAWoodenFoot are you also out of isolation tomorrow? I’m just worried I’m going to let work down next week, how am I meant to be able to work everyday feeling like a zombie after doing nothing?!! I know I shouldn’t stress it but I’m feeling a bit stressed. Which I know won’t help. Urgh.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 13/11/2021 12:02

Your dh needs medical advice with 92 or below. That's low.

Day 6. I've only just wooennupnjownat 11.40 since going to bed at 12. Making up for not sleeping well at all the night before.

The only thing I'm bothered with now is a very hollow feeling in my chest which triggers coughing whenever I breathe deeply. And breathlessness when I'm moving around.

Dh is still doing lfts and is still negative.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 13/11/2021 12:04

Oh no Rule! Try not to do too much too quickly!

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 13/11/2021 12:06

I'm wearing sunglasses indoors and have just cried at the video of all those people drumming for Children in Need. I hate Children in Need and all that organised fun shit. Must still be ill!

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 13/11/2021 12:29

@DrMadelineMaxwell - I'm worried you are doing too much 'wooennupnjownat' Grin

DrMadelineMaxwell · 13/11/2021 12:35
Grin Wups.

Woken up now....

Rule you do definitely sound still under the weather.

Cheermonger · 13/11/2021 12:46

Afternoon all. Just checking in to moan. What day am I on please? Started Weds pm with a bit of a cough and bit of a runny nose which has stayed the same ever since. LFT’s morning and evening since Weds all negative- until this morning which was a strong positive. Bloody sods law as I was supposed to be staying overnight with my mum and my 2 daughters got dinner and drinks. Obviously they’ve now gone and I’m at home sulking. Been for a PCR and am fully expecting a positive. Bloody covid. Sending non hugs to you all 💐

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 13/11/2021 12:49

I started feeling weird in the Friday but taken my isolation from the day I got my lft which was Saturday

Budapestdreams · 13/11/2021 12:53

I'm on day 14 I think. Still feel physically wrecked and exhausted. Hoping I feel back to normal soon.

Rainydays55 · 13/11/2021 12:55

Are you still resting lots @Budapestdreams? Have you gone back to work? Hope you feel better soon 💐

Budapestdreams · 13/11/2021 13:00

Thanks, not back to work yet. A trip to the local shop required a 2 hour nap afterwards! I am resting but hoped I'd feel back to normal by now.
I do have lots of ginger nuts now though, which are helping with the nausea 🥴

Leftbutcameback · 13/11/2021 13:04

@Cheermonger if you get a positive PCR you'll have a form to fill in for track and trace. You put in what symptoms and when they started and it will calculate when your insolation ends

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 13/11/2021 13:04

I think I've worked out that it's not MAKING dinner/food that's the problem - it's digesting it that's exhausting for the body. This morning I had a boiled egg, some avocado and tomatoes and half a piece of toast - half an hour later I was completely wiped out on the sofa. Half an hour later, able to do stuff again. Am thinking that recovery stuff is going to involve small meals that are easy to digest. Maybe Monday and Tuesday were so awful because I was eating lentil cottage pie for almost every meal. Couldn't taste anything, so pointless making anything different.

ParishSpinster · 13/11/2021 13:05

Day 12 here and I left the house and went for a 5 minute walk. It was fine. Resting now after doing that + showering and dressing earlier + sorting out a few loads of washing.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 13/11/2021 13:21

I stuck my head out the back door earlier. The fresh air did help so as soon as I can I'm forcing myself for a walk around the block. I'm so fed up of this head

Cheermonger · 13/11/2021 13:30

Thanks @Leftbutcameback that makes sense. The woolly head sounds horrible. I think my taste and smell are weakening as I couldn’t really taste my toothpaste earlier but just now I’ve eaten four hobnobs and could sort of still taste them. Crappy crap. I’d bought a new dress and everything.
