Just as the title says. If your school doesn't have them booked imminently you can now arrange vaccination locally.

This is great, hopefully it will help speed up the jabs for this age groups.

Although it says now available, when you try and book it's sometimes not. If you read further down on the website it says "If you cannot book an appointment, please try again later. We're working to open up booking for all eligible 12 to 15 year olds by the end of Friday 22 October 2021."

This is similar to when they opened it up to other age groups, it takes them a while to open them all up I think.

So keep trying if not available immediately!!!

CarrieBlue · 20/10/2021 17:42

The website has had the 12-15 as eligible since yesterday, though now you can go through the screens until it then says ‘not eligible’. Maybe the take up in this age group is low because of the barriers constantly being put in their way?

WholeClassKeptIn · 20/10/2021 20:57

Same as Jenny when I go to nhs site.

Eccle80 · 20/10/2021 21:18

Tried a few times this afternoon for my 12 year old but still saying not eligible, and now the site is down (hopefully updating?!)

loobylou44 · 20/10/2021 21:57

I've just managed to book my 15 year old an appointment for Monday. Site seems to be working now,

WholeClassKeptIn · 20/10/2021 22:01

Thats strange I still get this!

Bookings for 12-15 year olds are now available online
loobylou44 · 20/10/2021 22:10

I got this and then went through booking...

Bookings for 12-15 year olds are now available online
WholeClassKeptIn · 20/10/2021 22:11

Yup it starts with that. Then I fill in all her personal details. Then it says cant use service yet and above pixture

WholeClassKeptIn · 20/10/2021 22:12

Mayve it varies due to area?

loobylou44 · 20/10/2021 22:19

That's strange. It wasn't working for me earlier but after the site being down for a while it worked.

I'm in the North East.

WholeClassKeptIn · 20/10/2021 22:20

Site went down here but tried a few times since and not working yet I'm pther sode of country to you!

SlipperyLizard · 20/10/2021 22:50

Site was down earlier but just managed to try - nearest option 40 miles away! I want DD to have it but I’m not making a day of it!

Her school won’t be doing it for weeks.

Goes to show “poor uptake” by 12-15s is more like “poor roll out”.

SkiRun0077 · 20/10/2021 22:53

Nope not working for me still in SW says not available- she had hers cancelled at school this week as no supply!

bumblefeline · 20/10/2021 23:15

Mine is working now for dc but it's over 35 miles away. Hope some more sites come up tomorrow.

CooDeGrass · 21/10/2021 07:43

Working here now (NE England) after saying not eligible through till midnight last night. Thankfully there’s a nearby option

That doesn’t sound good that people aren’t being offered local sites; hope they can sort it out. My experience (anecdata, I know) is that demand is much higher among DC’s option than supply has been to date.

CooDeGrass · 21/10/2021 07:43

Option? Age group Confused

Angel2702 · 21/10/2021 08:36

Our area after the shambles of “half term daytime drop in” the wrong week for it to be half term added more slots so I was able to take my DS to a walk in after school yesterday. Apparently they are adding more sessions so if you have any walk in clinics keep checking for any slots.

WholeClassKeptIn · 21/10/2021 08:38

I cant see walkin clinics or ways to book slots apart from the national nhs one.

Bizarrely one of my daughters has treatment at a london hospital and was offered a london slot through them. We live 2 hours away!

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 21/10/2021 11:30

I get the same as WholeClassKeptin online.

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 21/10/2021 11:32

Frustratingly a friend is vaccinating at a local drop in centre for adults today. They have spare vaccines and staff sitting around twiddling their thumbs but they’re not allowed to give it to 12-15 year olds.

Angel2702 · 21/10/2021 11:57

Ours were on an email from school initially and this week I had an email from our local authority with a link to live dates for walk ins, couldn’t book or find anything via the main booking site.

WholeClassKeptIn · 21/10/2021 12:01

Ive found "local" (not very local) sites for walkin climics but in our county these are not currently accepting under 16s.

ReginaSpaghetti99 · 21/10/2021 17:03

We’re in the SW and the closest site that came up was Oxford. It seems like they haven’t finished building the online system.

rainbowllama · 21/10/2021 17:06

I have 12 year old twins. It let me book one yesterday, but still saying the other isn't eligible to use the site.

Now the NHS have cancelled the jab I booked and will let me book that child into clinics 60+ miles away, and STILL the site won't let me book for their twin.

It's driving me mad.

DaxtheDestroyer · 21/10/2021 17:09

We're SW too and our closest is coming up as 50 miles away.
