Just as the title says. If your school doesn't have them booked imminently you can now arrange vaccination locally.

WholeClassKeptIn · 21/10/2021 17:09

Still can't here

CactusFlowers · 21/10/2021 19:44

I can book, but the nearest option is over 150 miles away.

CactusFlowers · 21/10/2021 19:46

No walk in clinics doing 12 to 15s either. They have closed the vaccination centres and the walk ins are mainly at pharmacies and they won’t do under 16s,

NeverForgetYourDreams · 22/10/2021 06:32

Tried to book DS15. Nearest place 50 miles away. Ridiculous. School saying no plans to do yet as waiting for local healthcare people.

BlackeyedSusan · 22/10/2021 09:23

Wouldn't work for me either. Particularly pissed off with someone on the radio spouting off about uptake of vaccinations...yeah sort your fucking system out then.

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 22/10/2021 09:25

Just tried again - won’t let me book.
Our half term is this week and it would have been a good time to have it.

TheUndeadLovelinessOfDemons · 22/10/2021 09:29

DS2's at school, but I'll ask him if he wants this when he gets in. He's worried about it hurting, but his brother's CEV and has only just been allowed out of the house for exercise, I don't think he'd be allowed to visit him if he wasn't vaccinated now it's available.

Autumn101 · 22/10/2021 09:32

I’ve had a look and nothing within 1.5 hours drive for us - school one is planned but not until end of November so I was hoping I could get it done over half term

poshme · 22/10/2021 09:34

I tried for 15 year old- nearest site is over an hour away.

I'm waiting till there's something closer

Unanananana · 22/10/2021 12:04

Website not accepting my 13 year old DD is eligible. GP has confirmed her records are up to date. Called 119 to book and they cut me off due to high call volumes.

How exactly are we meant to vaccinate our teens that apparently pose such a massive risk to everyone else apparently when the school vaccination arrangements have been non-existent (not a whisper from her school about when) and the website won't work? Walk in centres around here won't jab her (contrary to what I heard on the radio).

I want DD to have her jab, she wants her jab. But I cannot access one for her.

WholeClassKeptIn · 22/10/2021 12:53

It does say on one of the eaely pages of the nhs website that they are aiming to get all children eligible on board by the end of today. So it is clear they haven't yet.

WholeClassKeptIn · 22/10/2021 12:54

I dont think its right to call gp/119 yet when its clear the system isnt fully up and running yet.

Unanananana · 22/10/2021 13:15

The website says to check with your GP that your childs records are up to date. I only checked her DOB and NHS number are correct.

Unanananana · 22/10/2021 13:17

If its not fully up and running, the government shouldn't put 'you must protect society by getting jabbed' plugs on the radio.

CactusFlowers · 22/10/2021 13:19

I’ve just tried again and there aren’t any appointments available anywhere.

WholeClassKeptIn · 22/10/2021 13:20

It says this on the page before you click to book. Under the under 16 heading. 🤷‍♀️

Bookings for 12-15 year olds are now available online
WholeClassKeptIn · 22/10/2021 13:21

"If you can't book please try again later" and that they are aiming to get it up and running by the end of today. Not please ring an overloaded service...

CarrotCakeMuffins · 22/10/2021 13:22

i'm in the east of England, and have had an email from school about local clinics being set up of 12-15 yo. Appointment only with separate booking system. Booked DD in for next week

StrangeAddiction · 22/10/2021 13:54

I've booked dd in for next week but have I done the wrong thing? She had covid in July so should have some form of natural immunity so should I have booked for a few months time?

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 22/10/2021 15:05

It is now working for me (sort of). One site available, approx 1.5 hours drive away. I will wait until something nearer becomes available.

CarrieBlue · 22/10/2021 16:01

Finally booked in on the national site, but only offered appointments some distance away. Luckily we’re on holiday there this next week so he’ll get his vaccine as a holiday souvenir on the way home!

SlipperyLizard · 22/10/2021 16:18

I’ve managed to book today at the same vaccination centre I had mine done at, so hopefully others will get local appointments soon.

WholeClassKeptIn · 22/10/2021 16:26

Now got 1 an hour away.... not sure whether to book or not. I suspect my area hasn't got up and running 🙄

WindUpBird · 22/10/2021 16:38

I’ve been checking over the last couple of days and all sites were at minimum 26 miles away. I checked this afternoon and managed to book DC in at my local centre for this weekend. Hopefully this means everyone will be able to get a local centre ASAP.

Cookingbynumbers · 22/10/2021 16:46

If it’s like the original age groups roll out, not all spaces become available at once, so I would hold fire over the weekend and then try again. There’s no point trekking miles. There was a problem every time the age range changed. The message we had from dd school was that it would all be working by Monday.
