Oh Ignore that too many daves and David's on this thread!

Who is David?

CornishYarg · 20/10/2021 12:59

@PurpleDaisies

Who is David?
Autocorrect for Javid I guess
MarshaBradyo · 20/10/2021 12:59

@PurpleDaisies

David Cameron is not doing the press conference today
😂 made me laugh
Quartz2208 · 20/10/2021 12:59

Chris Whitty is also there though isnt he?

PurpleDaisies · 20/10/2021 13:00

Javid-David. Of course.

I think my mate Chris is up there too.

User135644 · 20/10/2021 13:01

"Get back to the office"

knittingaddict · 20/10/2021 13:02

@TheFairyCaravan

Stop calling him Boris. He’s not your mate. You wouldn’t have said “there’s a press conference with Dave” or “there’s a press conference with Theresa” would you?
I disagree.

He is frequently called Boris because Boris is an unusual name and we all know who he is. Dave definitely needs a surname. Theresa might be either with or without, but we would probably know who Theresa is too, if she were still PM and giving press conferences.

I make a point of not calling him Boris, but if I did it wouldn't be because I like him. I have neither affection nor love for him, but calling him Boris Johnson might be giving him more respect than he deserves. If anything Boris alone is disrespectful.

Might tune in for Chris. He's awesome.

I'd also like to point out, a large majority of trusts are under intense pressures already and have initiated something called Business Continuity (basically, what we need do if things are going tits up).

They literally have no room, and that's without Covid numbers rising rapidly. I'd take a Plan B to stop people dying because of the impact on the NHS yet again quite frankly.

user7667781 · 20/10/2021 13:07

@PicsInRed

My heart still actually sinks at the words "5pm press conference with Boris" 🤣
Yep, totally triggering. Used to time my daily exercise so I missed them.

Masks please Javid

That's not good. They need to have more about this in the news.

“Try not to mix too much, chaps, and wear a mask of you’re in a crowded indoor environment like the House of Commons. Bally good show.”

user7667781 · 20/10/2021 13:12

I wonder if they'll say, sorry we didn't vaccinate your 12-15 year olds as soon as the vaccine was assessed as safe and effective in this age group (like the rest of the high income countries) and sorry we obstructed the roll-out of these very delayed vaccines for months, now your DC's schools are threatening to close I suppose you can bring your 12-15 year olds to the vaccine centre, but good luck finding one because we told them to cut their opening hours drastically weeks ago and no-one has a plan to get them open properly again.
PS back to the office and public transport for a few weeks before we admit this is a stupid idea and tell you to WFH

What should we call him..? 🤷🏻‍♀️[/quote]
"That Lying Sociopath?"

nonono1 · 20/10/2021 13:13

I honestly don't think they'd be able to implement another lockdown even if they wanted to. People have (quite rightly) had enough!

nonono1 · 20/10/2021 13:15

Stop calling him Boris.

Why - that's his name! Confused

daytripper28 · 20/10/2021 13:15

Bunch of c - the whole lot of 'em

Especially Cameron.

StealthPolarBear · 20/10/2021 13:17

Whichever pp said we're a feww weeks from 'alas' has it spot on.

daytripper28 · 20/10/2021 13:17

@user7667781

It's too early for them to say all that.

Those ideas will be aired around the end of November - when it's properly tits up in the NHS - and it is literally too late to have an effect.

daytripper28 · 20/10/2021 13:18

@StealthPolarBear

Grin Grin

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2021 13:20

I don’t care if it’s Boris or anyone else. Can’t imagine it’ll be anything very interesting and it’s better to catch the summary after anyway.

TheFoundations · 20/10/2021 13:21

So good that we've got you in charge of how we word our posts. So authoritative, too, just issuing an imperative like that!
Bluesheep8 · 20/10/2021 13:21

What should we call him..? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Don't ask that. It wouldn't be complimentary.
And talking of distinctive first names, Boris was a spider on TV when I was a child. A puppet spider.

IndigoC · 20/10/2021 13:22

“Sajid Javid, the UK health secretary, will hold a Downing Street press conference at 5pm on booster vaccinations and the work of the antivirals taskforce, reports the Press Association.“

As expected, rah rah, the government is doing a wonderful job, nothing to see here.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 20/10/2021 13:22

@Dontgetyerknicksinatwist

Hopefully to say he’s resigning. Sadly I don’t think it will be that…
We can but hope...
