I probably would have if Theresa had been in charge during the pandemic and kept popping up on our screens so often tbh. "Dave" was just a non descript politician so probably not.

If Theresa or Dave were PM I would call them Theresa or Dave. Nothing to do with seeing Boris as my mate; he makes my skin crawl

Call him the Prime Minister or Boris Johnson.

It'a Sajid Javid not Boris - and I think they had to do it given this morning's statement by NHS Confederation. I reckon it'll be a warning shot - and urge people to take up boosters (assuming that's possible) and 12-15 vaccinations or risk 'Plan B' being enforced.

Distinctive first names allow us to omit the second name without causing confusion.

Who else do you know called Boris who would call a press conference?
Who else do you know called Delia who would write a cookery book? Or Nigella for that matter.
Ant & Dec are identifiable without the use of their surnames.
