Current turn around time for NHS PCR?

My DD (18 + double vaccinated)) and I are due to go away for a UK weekend break this weekend, leaving Friday lunchtime.

DD started feeling unwell during this morning and we took her down for a PCR test at a drive in centre this afternoon.

Does anyone have experience of the current turn around times for results?

Her school has a bout of colds at the moment, so fingers crossed it's just that, but obviously we need a definite answer before we can go away.

Our second PCR test took 26 hours to come back.

3 hours Drive-thru in a local car park. Noticed a tent up which had "laboratory" stuck on the side but didn't think anything of it. Was stunned to get the (negative) result 3 hours later (test was at 9.30am on a Saturday).

Another person on our road had the same timings who went later on that day (also negative).

Answered my own question they both came back at the same time last night. After 13 hours which I thought was Vg!

Do you think positive results come back quicker? Only asking as the only positive one we've had was less than 12 hours. All the other negatives (and we've had to test a fair few times over the last year) have all taken much longer.

Negative tests yesterday came back in 13h so o don’t think so.

28.5 hours waiting so far here in West Sussex. Didn't do any last week, week before we did 9 (!) as a family and wait time was 23 - 30 hours.

It just came in at 29 hours post test! Negative, phew!

I had my test yesterday (6/10) at 1pm, just over the 24 hour mark and still waiting. Really frustrating as I’m keen to get back to work ASAP and I’ve got plans this weekend! ☹️☹️

Had to wait 48 hours before ours came through!

Just under 13 hours for ds’s which was done at a walk in test centre last night

32 hours for latest PCR result. One only a few days earlier, at the same site (different DD) was only 16 hours!
