South east, PCR done this am at 08.30 and really really hoping that we get a negative result back before school starts tomorrow Grin

Anyone got any recent times to give me some guidance?

DD1 had a postal test yesterday lunch time and still waiting for results.

DD2 has come down with symptoms today so booked her in for a walk in test tomorrow as it sounds like the results are faster!

HeyDuddy · 23/09/2021 19:06

DS tested yesterday at 11.40 at a test centre but they are then posted off due to where we are. Really hoping we can get the result today so he can get back to school as it’s a big day tomorrow for him.

noideawhat · 23/09/2021 20:41

We all tested yesterday at 10am at a drive through.

DS received a negative result at 2am this morning, DH & my 2 other DC got negative results back at 6am. School have asked for them all to be re-tested.

I'm still waiting for my result- nearly 36 hours & feeling awful.

noideawhat · 23/09/2021 20:42

Mine has just come through! Negative apparently?

Lucythewonderdog · 23/09/2021 20:51

School have asked for them all to be re-tested

On what basis @noideawhat ? No wonder tests are taking a while with all these needless retests. 🙄

Why? They can't just keep wasting tests!
noideawhat · 23/09/2021 21:02

@Lucythewonderdog I'm not sure but me & DH are really unwell with something.

Apparently a staff member at the school had a positive LFT, negative PCR, followed by a positive PCR. (I'm not sure why they retested?).

DH had a negative PCR after a positive LFT & then developed symptoms so needed a retest.

Apparently there's been a large outbreak within the school community & they've been seeing this pattern.

There's another thread talking about possible issues with PCRs in the South West, which school also mentioned.

And I've been feeling too ill to argue, sorry.

Lucythewonderdog · 23/09/2021 21:07

I’d ring 119 and report the school tbh, they can contact them and ask them wtf they are playing at.

Hope you feel better soon.

HeyDuddy · 24/09/2021 09:13

We got the result this morning- 44 hours. Thankfully negative.

feliznavidad2 · 24/09/2021 13:19

Still waiting here. 28 hours.

Got them in less than 13 hours on Sunday for DS.

Justrealised · 24/09/2021 14:09

Just over 26 hours here, Manchester city stadium drive through

AwFeebs · 25/09/2021 10:09

I'm still waiting for DS test result after posting it. Been 45 hours so far..

user34254356 · 25/09/2021 10:45

26 hours here and waiting in London. We went to a walk in centre.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 25/09/2021 10:48

Had mine done at 7:30 last night and just got the results, so 15 hours.

CouldBeWrong · 25/09/2021 10:59

26 hours and still waiting.
Can't stop anxiously checking my phone.

pommedeterre · 25/09/2021 17:51

We had to do another round as smaller dc went back in as per government rules and as agreed with the head. Some people who are so covid cautious they hadn't even bothered to read the new rules complained so we were asked to go again.

All negative again but the longest wait of the week at nearly 30 hours.

Negative result but an anxious 30 hour wait.

yodaforpresident · 25/09/2021 20:03

Currently 32 hours and counting in the south east.
At a drive through - though not sure why it’s called that as we had to administer the test rather than a tester.

user34254356 · 25/09/2021 20:17

Nearly 36 hours now - i've given up hope of the result arriving and will be redoing it again tomorrow when it will be 48 hours.

And yet again you all wonder why results are taking a while 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Lucythewonderdog · 25/09/2021 21:24

Results can be up to 72 hours actually then we will escalate at 119 but due to pricks re testing or “testing just to be safe” things are getting pushed further and further back and we are now looking at 100 hours. Reap what you sow.

yodaforpresident · 25/09/2021 21:30

If I had known it would be this long I would have just used a private company.

yodaforpresident · 25/09/2021 21:31

Not to worry there is zero chance I will use the NHS option again.

Seriously? Ours arrived after 34 hours, but it never crossed my mind to retest, as we knew it could take up to three days.

Well I’m sure the nhs test and trace program will breathe a huge sigh of relief then 😂😂😂
