South east, PCR done this am at 08.30 and really really hoping that we get a negative result back before school starts tomorrow Grin

Anyone got any recent times to give me some guidance?

Was this a home test?
hollyivysaurus · 20/09/2021 18:32

No, drive through test centre. It’s the longest wait we’ve had for a result since this time last year when all the schools went back and it was a bit crazy! I’m surprised it’s been as long, but anecdotally a lot of my friends and colleagues seem to have children testing so I think there’s a backlog currently!

samsonthecat · 20/09/2021 19:56

Mine finally came through about 6.30pm today. Negative so I can go back to work tomorrow.

pommedeterre · 21/09/2021 07:10

Now at 21 hours of waiting for the next set (4 of us)

Email came through at 1 am
Text has literally just arrived 7:15

TOWG · 21/09/2021 08:06

We did on last night at 7pm! Hoping the wait won't be too long!

Have you got news now? I had always heard drive through centres were quicker strangely.

Ours came back after 19 hours and was both negative

pommedeterre · 21/09/2021 16:21

We finally got all ours - 1 after 24 hours, 1 after 27 hours and 2 after 28 hours, this time all were negative so just dd's positive to contend with.

School sent a bunch of kids to get tests done Monday lunchtime (so mainly 1-2pm at local walk in test centre). We're all still waiting for results.

I really hope she gets the results tonight/early morning so she can get back to school.

chalkyc2 · 21/09/2021 17:57

I'm currently waiting on a postal test put in the post box yesterday morning. Really need the result ASAP!!

Madcats · 21/09/2021 18:20

Update: 28.5 hours for a Monday test in Somerset at a centre.

Back to school she goes!

middleager · 21/09/2021 18:52

We got my son's back yesterday, 26 hrs, positive
Mine, today, 26 hrs, positive
Same walk in centre

DH and other DC went today, so expect 26 hrs again.

Crunchymum · 21/09/2021 20:15

Tested at 10am this morning. Result back at 17:45 (negative)

We're in London and went to a walk-in centre.

EmilyDickinson · 21/09/2021 22:18

29 hours and still waiting here. Getting worried they’ve lost it

chalkyc2 · 21/09/2021 22:37

Postal test put in box 9am yesterday just came through. London. Negative PHEW!

EmilyDickinson · 21/09/2021 23:08

Negative result after 30 hour wait. Phew

I don't think this is unusual. We waited 32 hrs last year, 26 hours on two separate occasions this week and 28 hours and still waiting today's results.

I wish it were faster, esp when deciding to send children in to school.

I'm sure I read about faster turnarounds in other countries?

krj2608 · 23/09/2021 18:19

32 hours and still waiting for result at a drive through in south east Confused

Ours always seems to take ages!

middleager · 23/09/2021 18:34

Ours took 34 hours in the end, walk in.
