PCR test times!

South east, PCR done this am at 08.30 and really really hoping that we get a negative result back before school starts tomorrow

Anyone got any recent times to give me some guidance?

Also, definitely check your emails first, as I got that at midnight, whereas the text has only just arrived.

7pm last night and just had the email at 8am

I did mine Friday 4:30. Positive result by 12:30 Saturday.

DH and 2 dds did theirs at 11am yesterday. Negative results by 5am today.

SE also we had a PCR test done last Saturday at a drive through centre. Test was done at 10am. Results back by 2am Sunday morning.

Also, in my experience the email arrived about 4 hours before the text. So check your emails.

Positive result came back within 6 hours, negative results came through 8 hours after the first test result. I would have expected them all through at the same but take but if positive ones are contacted sooner then that’s a good thing!

Mine came back after 31 hours. Was negative, text arrived about 10 mins before the email

Wow! Sussex is obviously a lot sleepier. Still waiting at just over 24 hours. I have now realised not an isolated case in dd's year group and other parents/kids seem quite blase/confused. Quite glad she's not going in today now tbh and hoping that lessons this am have been cancelled for mass testing...

My son tested at 12noon yesterday, nothing back yet.

When my other son had Covid last year it was 36 hours. At the time, people were waiting days, so turnaround seems to have improved, but I wish it were as fast as LFTS.

10am PCR - 9pm Results - positive -
Son's negative was a good few hours later taken at the same time.

I do think positives seem to come through quicker but only a hunch -

12 hours yesterday in Bucks. Vg.

Our 13hr turnaround were both negative

Did one two weeks ago which took about 36 hours.

Did one yesterday which took 18 hours (email arrived at 5am, text at 9am).

It's so variable, but mostly they do come back within 24 hours.

Just been for a PCR today, they said it should be back tomorrow but can take up to three days. West Mids.

Still waiting here tested 12.30 yesterday in Stoke. Hurry up!

DPs just come back, pos as expected, still waiting on mine and DCs

Tested 9:30am yesterday, got negative result at 00:30 - South Yorkshire. It does seem to vary quite a bit doesn't it!

DD's just come back as negative. Phew.

12.5-13 hours turnaround here yesterday. I agree that I hope they will eventually have PCR tests that have the almost instant result like the lateral flows.

Came through at just under 26 hours, text ten mins before the email.

Unfortunately it was positive! So the rest of us had pcrs earlier and the wait begins again!

Totally lost faith in lateral flows, she was negative on lateral flows Saturday, Sunday and this morning.

One DC negative came back 7am. Positive result for other DC at lunch. Both tested yesterday.

tested 8.30 am yesterday, positive result back by 9pm.

DH and DS tested this morning (DH LFT positive) at 8am. It was apparently busy at the centre and in the one my colleague used this morning so I wonder if that will make a difference to results times.
