Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

I also had swine flu. The high fever with that was truly awful to the extent that I fell out of my bed. But it passed very quickly.

Mum32021 · 24/08/2021 08:18

Day 10 for me today I am technically free but still feel crap and my oldest is isolating till Sunday, my gp gave me some antibiotics yesterday as it seems I now have a chest infection which is making breathing worse, so hoping they kick in now, wish my smell and taste had come back im really missing food

Piggywaspushed · 24/08/2021 08:21

I have a stockpile of meds now, including anti biotics I was told not to use Confused

I think I can now name every known anti emetic.

PurplePumpkinDream · 24/08/2021 10:59

Good job we find out other people are in the same boat as us, or we would think we are the exception and there must be something radically wrong. I seem to be better than the day after worse again, I thought a couple of days’ rest would see me through. Only just reached the first week since first symptoms started (slight cough and fluey feeling) so I could have a long way to go yet. Keep sharing your experiences it does help!

Did someone mention random earworms? I have had the Babycham ad in my head and don't reckon I have heard that since circa 1986...

Yeah, that was me. I had a 60s song in my head for days and days (I've blocked out what it was now but it wasn't anything that's particular popular). Since then I've had various different ones that I'd listened to trying to get the first one out of my head, mostly Oasis which I now hate with a passion (I'd like to punch Liam Gallagher in his whiny mouth.
Siameasy · 24/08/2021 12:35

I think I over did it yesterday as I was shattered and couldn’t get out of bed. I’m ok now but I am due on so it could be that
I’m Day 6 I think?
My smell is back! Not 100% but about 25%
Only other symptom is inside of my nose very sore and like you’ve snorted water at the swimming pool

changeoflife · 24/08/2021 12:45

Day8 for me and felt coldy again this morning. Took paracetamol and that seems to have helped. I'm just so tired though. Trying not to do too much but need to do some things as a single mum there isn't anyone else!

@Siameasy I had that feeling in my nose as well and excitedly thought it was my smell returning but sadly nothing. I have a sports injury and use Tiger Balm. You'd think I would be able to smell that but no, absolutely nothing at all!! The lack of taste is getting me down but I'm trying not to focus on it too much because I've heard it can take weeks to come back.

Siameasy · 24/08/2021 12:55

I was hoping to have lack of taste change so I wouldn’t want to eat all the time!
Tiger balm is pretty strong too. I realised I’d lost mine when I couldn’t smell the cat’s litter tray! I still can’t but I can smell DH’s anti perspirent

cakeflower · 24/08/2021 13:30

Day 18. I do feel mostly well now but have a lingering feeling like I have a mild summer cold. Tickly mild cough and slightly fuzzy feeling in my head. Ive also been feeling very anxious and gloomy - to do with the stress of having covid and not snapping back to full strength after ten days.

Imkindreally · 24/08/2021 14:18

Waiting for gp to call me- after feeling”fine” this am my leg pain is worse but only in one leg and I’m freezing! Def have health anxiety so imagine it’s nothing but want to be reassured Blush

Mynameisthecatwhogotthecream · 24/08/2021 14:29

21 days post ltf, generally feeling ok but getting tired more easily, leg aches and finding that I'm not sleeping for more than 4 hours at a time, I can get back to sleep but finding the broken sleep.wearing

Mum32021 · 24/08/2021 15:01

I have found some energy to cut the grass and get the kids in the garden today, but now I'm flaked out and the sun hurts my skin 😅 kids are killing each other at the moment they hate being cooped up 🤦‍♀️

CatAlice · 24/08/2021 15:01

I'm on day 17 and still in hospital. The consultant I saw today says to expect recovery will take 3 months 🤒. Hoping for discharge home soon but have been told I have to sleep downstairs and isolate another 10 days because of high covid exposure on ward.

Piggywaspushed · 24/08/2021 15:25

Was just thinking about you. Glad you are, albeit slowly, on the mend.

I came home from hospital and had a shower and washed everything I was wearing!

Piggywaspushed · 24/08/2021 15:26

Hope you are OK imkind.

Imkindreally · 24/08/2021 15:41

I’m ok just anxious. Had some palpitations < which just increases the anxiety Grin> and feel Very weak and shaky. Lying in bed at moment just drained

Piggywaspushed · 24/08/2021 15:50

Oh, I get anxiety palpitations. It's horrible.

Yes it will be the full decontamination process when I get home! They have some special bags you can shove in washing machine to avoid contact with coviddy clothing. Nice.

I get palpitations when I'm unwell, they don't help but I've learned not to worry about them. I had a lot around days 8 to 14 of this. They seem to have stopped now. I think most of us are unused to real illness and the intensity is a shock. You are ill and laying in bed is best thing for you right now.

I feel very similar today. Day 14 for me. I may have pushed myself a bit too far at the weekend as I still went on planned camping trip with family (departing on first day out of isolation). I felt very odd on route there but better once o got there & had a great time (& was glad I got away as my other holiday got totally scuppered by getting covid plus I got to see lots of relatives & swim in the sea).

Today I went into work & felt like I was at the beginning of getting a cold and slightly fuzzy all day. Just got out of the bath which def helped but think I need to get to bed pronto

mrssunshinexxx · 24/08/2021 21:26

Still zero smell or taste for me
Boooooo

Siameasy · 24/08/2021 22:37

Day 6 or 7 can’t remember
My smell came back but my taste seems to be going!
Also my eyes are really sore and one is streaming. I couldn’t watch TV it was too sore!
Feel shattered today so am going to bed!

Sorrento2014 · 25/08/2021 12:32

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

Not sure on days as DD tested positive lft on Friday as she was snuffly (no other symptoms) and I felt hot/cold that night but continued to test negative until yesterday, Tuesday. 4 out of 5 of us now positive, mostly cold symptoms and headaches
How to stop test and trace calling and emailing??? We've told them all the info so many times and asked them to stop but they call again 5 mins later!
