Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

Day 15 today and day 4 in hospital. A rough night but today my breathing has eased and they have reduced my oxygen. Progress.
I am doing my best to move while on the bed. Small stretching and flexing. I am also being given daily heparin injections in the stomach to prevent clots. A big relief as I know clots are a risk from Covid as well as from immobility.

Glad you're home Piggy, Well done on the T&T. They have some poorly trained people with zero communication skills on there.

Imkindreally · 22/08/2021 17:29

Glad your oxygen support is going down a bit Catalice Smile

I’m feeling pretty weird - one minute I’m fine the next I’m breathless and dizzy. My legs are so painful too Sad

Piggywaspushed · 22/08/2021 17:31

In what way painful?

Imkindreally · 22/08/2021 17:40

Mostly muscle type soreness - started Wednesday and thought I’d pulled a muscle putting a tent up but it’s both legs Hmm

Siameasy · 22/08/2021 17:55

Day 5 I feel pretty normal except no smell, maybe more tired than usual. Been pottering in the garden but main symptom today is feeling grumpy

Piggywaspushed · 22/08/2021 18:43

My muscles get like that when I have been vomiting or sleepless. It's one of the Zoe app symptoms.

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 09:37

Hey, how is everyone? I didn't actually sleep brilliantly and also have period pain. Thanks, mother nature.

Obediently continuing meds. Nibbling cream crackers and toast but everything now smells horrible. Dame weird indescribable smell , especially of normally totally innocuous stuff like toast.

Bit worried about DS2 who tested positive on 4th August and still can't smell a thing.

cakeflower · 23/08/2021 10:19

I’m on day 17, thought I was feeling better Friday but yesterday developed mild tickly dry cough (my initial covid cough came and went in week 1) and felt a bit under the weather again. Still have a headache and post nasal drip - possibly sinusitis caused by the covid (last week I had dizziness and sore eyes). Am going to spend today resting. Just want to go back to feeling normal!

Siameasy · 23/08/2021 10:30

Day six and I feel pretty normal just no smell and reduced taste. A bit of sneezing.

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 10:30

I am a teacher, so haven't had to think about work (yet). But how are those of you who are presently working and still suffering after the 10 days handling it/being treated by employers?

CelieandNettie · 23/08/2021 11:51

I'm out of isolation today ! Took DS for breakfast but couldn't taste anything . Looks like I've kindly passed on my Covid germs to DH - just waiting on his PCR test results

PurplePumpkinDream · 23/08/2021 11:51

Glad I found this thread as I was starting to feel sorry for myself. Double jabbed and still careful with everything advised since the beginning of the pandemic, and I end up with a positive PCR result! Just tight chest/cough, feeling generally unwell. Do these main symptoms last about one/two weeks?

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 12:05

Oh bad luck purple. I am a careful one, too.

Looking at this thread, it really varies. No way of predicting, unfortunately. I'd say don't get complacent around days- 5 - 10 and start overdoing it.

CatAlice · 23/08/2021 12:46

Day 16 since first symptoms.
Still in hospital but improving and hoping for discharge soon.
purple The first 5 days were deceptive. It got much worse from day 6 and doctors at A&E reckon days 7 to 10 are worst for most people,

Mum32021 · 23/08/2021 13:15

Day 9 for me, had a rough night coughing and breathing felt like someone was sitting on my chest, head cold feeling has gone, still no smell and taste have my doctors phoning me today as I feel like I now have a chest infection 🤦‍♀️

PurplePumpkinDream · 23/08/2021 13:34

Good you are home Piggy and hope you’ll soon be CatAlice. Rather worrying that symptoms can get worse after getting better, but at least we are aware.

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 13:45

Look after yourselves everyone.

Today, everything now smells the same. Burning BBQ, toast, suncream, air freshener, ice. All smell sort of yeasty.

Popplebop · 23/08/2021 16:31

Now on to day 10 I think (from first symptom) and finally feel a bit brighter. Haven't had to sleep half the day so I will take that as a win. Still sore chest, cough ongoing. Zero smell.

Imkindreally · 23/08/2021 17:10

I think I’ve messed up my isolation dates Hmm I put Friday as that’s when I felt unwell … but it was Wednesday when the sore legs started and I felt cold ( but was camping so assumed it was that!)

So I potentially have added on extra days in isolation Blush

Annoyingly I feel a little better this afternoon - if I didn’t know I had covid id assume I was just tired generally and continue as normal. It’s only the breathlessness that would make me think I was unwell

RainBow725 · 23/08/2021 18:00

I started work again today @Piggywaspushed but had to retreat to the sofa again after a few hours. I work from home so I don't quite know how I could feel so bad again after a few hours working when I was just sat on my backside! My boss is a doctor so quite understanding. So even though I'm allowed out now, I can't quite summon up the energy for a walk ☹️.

Piggywaspushed · 23/08/2021 18:11

I definitely wouldn't be able to manage a day of teaching right now!

peachpearplum01 · 24/08/2021 02:36

Good to find this group! Started with symptoms yesterday and a positive lft - after df had been ill a few days and none of us realising because her symptoms were so vague. Only tested her as I’d heard of a case in her holiday club. And put two and two together.
Day one symptoms were a mild cough, headache (but a sharp one that hurt when I moved my head), tired and a bit achy. Day two includes the cough and sneezing and the eye pain others have mentioned. Plus the aching is much worse ans now hurts to lie down ao sant sleep. Have just dosed up on paracetamol so hope that helps.
Had the positive pcr results back today. Had naively thought I’d work from home (plus look after children) all the way through but realising from reading this thread that probably isn’t going to be feasible. Am terrible at taking time off sick but I figure if I can’t do it in a pandemic that is ridiculous….

WTFIsTheAnswerToThis · 24/08/2021 07:50

@peachpearplum01 if it's any comfort I do know quite a few people now in RL who have had it (double jabbed) and not been too poorly, just felt as though they had a cold so hopefully you won't feel too bad.

I think this thread, we are a bit like Trip Advisor or other review sites in that negative experiences get posted more than positive ones Smile
That is a general point about websites, it's not to make light of anyone suffering here, I know lots of us feel very ill and some in hospital and sincerely hope everyone feels better soon.

I'm on Day 14 and still coughing up horrific stuff to the point it's making me retch Envy so I have anti biotics for a secondary infection. I do feel crap but I've had pleurisy and pneumonia and felt worse with them - the GP said if I hadn't been double jabbed I would be a lot worse so I'll take it as a small comfort.

(Smell and taste still not fully returned which is frustrating especially when I'm trying to force myself to eat)

WTFIsTheAnswerToThis · 24/08/2021 07:53

I know the ten day isolation period has now been scrapped for double jabbed people (I won't derail by saying my thoughts on that!) but I actually think that has contributed to my "fucked off about still feeling ill". With the ten day thing at the forefront of my mind, I just imagined after 10 days I would be up and about feeling completely better Hmm Obviously I am naive and a bit stupid Grin but am hoping I'm not the only one who thought this before they got ill...

Piggywaspushed · 24/08/2021 08:02

I think a lot of people think that : I get the 'oh, aren't you better?' stuff. Our cover man at work was very put out if any staff said they were unfit to work after 10 days. It's not a 10 day illness for people who get appreciably ill, just as flu isn't, I guess, or shingles.
