Fun police are out with obesity cries. It’s one bloody McDonald’s. I’m a 10k runner, weightlifting size 10. I enjoy a McDonald’s as much as the next person! Do you even remember being a teen when you could eat what you wanted & stay skinny? Fast food was life for a while! I used to eat cheesy chips for lunch every day in college & uni was 3 years of unhealthy 🙈 all good now, no harm done!

Covid doesn't like fat people! Covid is more likely to kill you if you are fat.

If the goverment want people to be vaccinated because they want their citizens to be healthy then they wouldn't be giving away free fast food vouchers.

They obviously don't care about our health. This is evidence.

Then you will be fine. But an obese 19 year old doesn't need anymore encouragement to eat fast food. Not everyone has the intelligence, motivation, opportunity and will power to be fit and healthy. So the government telling them its fine to be fat carry on. Covid won't kill you because you've had the vaccine. So carry on stuffing McDonald's and being fat and vulnerable. That's what the government are saying.

I think it’s a good idea , I’m fully vaccinated but some aren’t bothered it may give them a nudge which is good imo . Not all people that eat McDonald’s are obese you know nor will it make you obese eating a McDonald’s.

Well that’s going to help with the worldwide obesity problem isn’t it.

I understand that not everyone who eats MacDs is overweight but we shouldn't be encouraging people to eat there when they otherwise wouldn't.

What a pointless endeavour.

Just admit people aren’t going to get it. End the mass roll out (not more mass vaccination centres or pop ups at events, just doses via your local surgery on certain days). Send our doses to countries that will use them.

Yes !! All adults have been able to have the 1st vaccine for the last month now so anyone who hasn’t had it but can is purely for reasons such as don’t need it , don’t want it , can’t be bothered, don’t care . So a voucher McDonald’s or not is probably the incentive to get the jab . I’m curious those that thing it a bad idea what do you suggest is it just that it’s McDonald’s? I’ve heard a few different incentives coming up as yes I agree McDonald’s is not for everyone.

In the US they are offering 100 dollars to get the vaccine. Seems we are being a bit short-changed over here!

Is reducing the risk of you becoming seriously ill with Covid or passing on to others not enough of an incentive?

The point is that this age group aren’t the ones who tend to get seriously ill with Covid, which may partly explain the slower uptake of the vaccine.

Whatever deal they're offering is not going to be good enough to convince any significant number of people to get the vaccine. You can get a discounted McDonalds off the back of lots of bus/car park tickets and it's hardly pricy to begin with. Some people who were going to get the vaccine anyway will enjoy their cheap burger and the government will call it a success.

It’s not a bad idea. It won’t make everyone have the vaccine, however it might incentivise a few.

I bet they were given the heads-up to not even mention McFlurries as an incentive. Order a McFlurry and watch all your dreams drop like dead flies. That's a machine that NEVER works.
