People who haven't got the App

Lots of people who use the app being "pinged". In our city it's affecting public transport as well as deliveries (as it is in many parts of U.K) .
Just think, people who don't have the app - maybe a high proportion of the elderly population and those who won't use the app. They will never be "pinged " or be told t isolate.

Those who are vulnerable will have been vaxxed. If the vax hasn’t worked then it won’t change six months or a year from now. They will still be vulnerable just as they would be to every other infectious disease. Do you want to be tested and traced forever?

And I don’t have kids

@Fordian

I'm in health care, and I don't have the App.

Currently over 50% of our HCAs and porters are isolating, and 10% of our HCPs.

One HCA is on her fifth round of isolation, and a porter on his fourth.

Another HCA was pinged and isolated although he'd left his phone in a locker all day.

I think there is some mickey taking going on here, given that not one has actually tested positive.

I'd love 10 paid days off, too, but morally I can't countenance it on the flimsy grounds the App relies on.

I thought the whole reason you can turn off Bluetooth contact tracing (but that it prompts you to switch back on after 12 hours) was because it shouldn’t be used by people working in a hospital etc? I thought that had been advised? Your stats are crazy… I mean, on what basis would someone who left his backpack in a locker all day in a hospital or medical facility (!!) even adhere to it? Why would they tell their superior and go home for 10 days?!

They will never be "pinged " or be told t isolate

That's exactly the point. Although if I'm named as a close contact then I will isolate.

The cost of the track and trace program including the app has so far been £38 billion.

By comparison the Education Policy Institute had calculated that a catch-up funding recovery to help pupils make up for lost learning during the pandemic. would need £13.5bn. But the Government only allocated £1.4bn cash over three years or £50 per pupil per year.

So given the number of posters that are now deleting or turning off the app the track and trace has been a criminal waste of money.

Even more sad no one seems bothered.

I never had it. I sometimes wish I had as so many people at work have had repeated periods of 10 days paid off work!! Mine would ping all the time as I work in a hospital.

I’d be interested to know what percentage of people who downloaded the app, have since deleted it! I wonder if that figure is actually available via the App/play Store?!
