...do you think Johnson is finally losing it?

Assuming he had control in the first place...is it just me Johnson seems to be getting more incomprehensible and wild eyed!? ...999 calls are taking 10 minutes to be answered...Not enough paramedics/health staff available...there may be issues in the supply chain for food...people being pinged lots,... essential workers off isolaging....and numbers of people with the virus going up....would waiting to get everyone jabbed in August have been the sensible option?

You linked to an article on nurses' pay - I linked to an article on applications to nursing courses.

You are indeed as rubbish as the Prime Minister.

Now you are being childish. Didn't Labour try to win back voters by calling them "thick"? Not a very successful tactic.

FictionalCharacter · 22/07/2021 20:24

@ZoomOnToast

I have heard some people say that this is part of Boris cunning plan to sell off the NHS. I am not sure about this.

I do think he is easily influenced and manipated and really only cares about popular opinion.

I also thinks he is happy to lie and manipulate the public, his colleagues, his friends and his family. I can't believe his wife knew about all those affairs.

He is quite simply not a good man, nor a good leader

I agree. He wanted to be PM to Get Brexit Done, get loads of praise from wealthy Brexiteers, hand over to someone else and swan off to make money doing after dinner speeches like Cameron. He never wanted to do hard work and make difficult decisions, and he doesn’t care about the country or the British people. He’s perfectly ok with lying to get what he wants or claim he’s not responsible for something. Absolutely the wrong type of person to be PM.
Clavinova · 22/07/2021 20:26

This country is a mess.

Apparently not - I keep seeing memes on social media saying Keir Starmer/Labour should be 20 points ahead in the polls. Is that an in-joke?

FourTeaFallOut · 22/07/2021 20:34

But apparently it scratches an itch so satisfyingly that it's worth having polls in the gutter to feel superior.

We are in a no win place, the same as every country, even New Zealand now has cases on the rise, nothing works 100% and you can't please everyone.

NZ has always had cases, but they are all in managed isolation and are in people entering the country from somewhere else. There are no cases in the community and haven't been for months.

MadeOfStarStuff · 22/07/2021 20:42

He’s never bloody had it!

He’s spent the last year and a half crashing from one disastrous ill thought out plan to the next, leaving carnage in his wake

Exactly like how he’s handled brexit and everything else really so I don’t know why anyone is remotely surprised

lightand · 22/07/2021 21:46

I started a thread this monday
Boris is sabotaging the UK. Will link tomorrow.
Each and every day makes me more convinced.
Whether he is getting leaned on, I dont know.

Cousinit · 22/07/2021 22:11

Lightand, I am inclined to agree with you as that's the only plausible explanation to what's going on!

LizzieSiddal · 22/07/2021 22:16

If you vote for a clown to run your country, you will end up with a circus. This is what we have, utter mayhem.

I’m not sure how this will end but I look at America, they got rid of Trump after 4 years, I’m praying we get rid of Johnson.

ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia · 22/07/2021 22:29

Yes this is the clueless follow no science nor data let it rip herd immunity survival of the fittest. Most will live, some with long Covid disabilities and a much smaller number will perish. People will behave as they like but I am assuming most do not want to get this disease let alone pass it on to kill grandma etc. Some fellow Brits feel invincible and like to take their chances without any personal risk mitigation measures and even unvaccinated let alone never masked etc.

Tavelo · 22/07/2021 22:36

Pretty sure I've now got covid for about the 3rd time. Won't bother testing though as I can't afford to self isolate, my work won't pay me to. As for the government they haven't had the foggiest from the beginning

SonnetForSpring · 22/07/2021 23:04

I saw this earlier. It's shame more don't understand this.

mrshoho · 22/07/2021 23:04

Can you imagine the shit we'd be in if we had gone ahead with this approach pre vaccine roll out? I remember the oh so knowledgeable critical thinkers telling us on here that this was the sensible way to handle this virus back in March 2020.

Tinpotspectator · 22/07/2021 23:44

@mrshoho Probably bonafide Boris foot soldiers. There are clearly some on the site, testing out the (mn) public on this or that.

AlmostSummer21 · 23/07/2021 00:46

@Bollindger

Ok. So please give YOUR plans to solve Covid. We are in a no win place, the same as every country, even New Zealand now has cases on the rise, nothing works 100% and you can't please everyone.
Oh behave!

NZ has had fewer cases of Covid since the pandemic started than the U.K. has per DAY

26 deaths in total

All imported cases, no community spread.

As an insider, I share his views.

Well except not shocked, because 'shocked' suggests surprise. Disgusted, is more apt.

PrettyLittleFlies · 23/07/2021 00:56

In New Zealand it's called The Awful UK Experiment

Tealightsandd · 23/07/2021 01:04

The problem with saying we have vaccines now is twofold.

First, AZ is still good and definitely better than no vaccine, but it isn't as effective as the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna). Particularly when it comes to the Beta strain. In America, where the majority are having mRNA vaccines, the fully vaccinated are sometimes getting breakthrough infection - but only rarely ill enough to need hospital. And almost 100% of the deaths are in the unvaccinated. AZ are currently working on a booster, tweaked to give better protection against newer strains, so with a bit of luck we'll have that available in the autumn (trial results dependant). A sensible government - one with brains, foresight, and morals - would put in place mitigation measures in the meantime.

Secondly, the majority of the UK population is not fully vaccinated.

They're right.
Tealightsandd · 23/07/2021 01:13

Angela Merkel is standing down in Germany soon. Perhaps she could come over to the UK and take emergency leadership...? It would be good to have a scientific mind in charge right now. (A healthcare system like Germany's would be great too. And, yes, the higher tax is worth it because health is wealth and wealth is health).

Of course she won't. Because who would. Nobody in their right mind is going to want to step foot in the UK. If they have any sense, the rest of the world will keep us out. There's no need for them to welcome in the world and vaccine beating strain that Boris and chums are trying to create.

Tealightsandd · 23/07/2021 01:40

@Dustyboots

Wild eyed OP? I don’t look at him or listen to him anymore. He makes me too angry.

Someone on here mentioned he was taking lots of cocaine to get through this. Maybe that’s why he’s losing it and is wild eyed.

Cocaine? He really shouldn't. He's already had Covid once and that can damage the heart. As can cocaine. Not a good mix - cocaine and Covid.

He should stick to green tea.

Still, personal responsibility and all that.

That article is spot in , but the deniers won't have it. I'm sick of people blaming it on the pingeemic, the app is only alerting people who HAVE been exposed to the virus, snd so look beyond this and you'll see the virus is rampant to be alerting so many. Changing the rules so people don't need to isolate won't make a god damn bit of difference, the virus will still be rampant, likely even more so.

We have an absolute a village idiot in charge, wreaking havoc at every turn, the world can see it, and we are so polite and dumb we go along with it, which will be our undoing.

So you'll go to work, spread it around, how utterly responsible of you. Thanks. How many people are you happy to kill?

You get the leaders you deserve. The English public voted Boris in their droves and he's always had populist appeal there. He helped swing the Brexit vote and won an 80 seat majority that Teresa May lost.

The English wanted Boris and loved him. Reap what you sew.
