...do you think Johnson is finally losing it?

Assuming he had control in the first place...is it just me Johnson seems to be getting more incomprehensible and wild eyed!? ...999 calls are taking 10 minutes to be answered...Not enough paramedics/health staff available...there may be issues in the supply chain for food...people being pinged lots,... essential workers off isolaging....and numbers of people with the virus going up....would waiting to get everyone jabbed in August have been the sensible option?

Dawn Butler has been thrown out of the Commons for the day for calling Johnson a liar, and refusing to retract her statement. So now we have it confirmed, lies are fine and truth is silenced.

@Orf1abc parliamentary rules, other MPs have got around this, for example Keir Starmer saying the line to Chequers must be faulty because he has not answered the same question.

subsy1 · 22/07/2021 17:06

I read somewhere that someone (Dennis Skinner?) said (of Tory MPs) "Half the the members opposite are crooks" and was told to withdraw the statement, which he did, changing it to "Half the members opposite are not crooks". At which point, he was suspended for the day.

I really hope it's true!

@gardeninggirl68

Isolation rules change soon so should be less of a strain
How so? It will just increase the spread meaning more people will test positive. I fail to see how not self isolating will not mean more spread. It looks clear to me that even double jabbed people are capable of spreading it. It is utter nonsense to think otherwise.
ilovesooty · 22/07/2021 17:11

Yes that really happened with Dennis Skinner.

Good for Dawn Butler. Unfortunately it's deemed un parliamentary but she was right.

tara66 · 22/07/2021 17:12

I was googling psychic predictions yesterday and many were saying he is going to win the next election! Are they out of touch with the spirit world about this matter?

AuntMasha · 22/07/2021 17:13

I’d imagine there are mutterings afoot in the Tory Party regarding Johnson’s aptitude for chaos, and that there is a plan in place to remove him when the time comes.

Johnson is essentially a nihilist, a wrecking ball and so the country really shouldn’t be surprised that he has no vision, is corrupt and is not up to the job. His weakness is in his need to be popular. As Hesseltine puts it, he “waits to see 'the way the crowd is running then dashes in front”.

I broke my ankle over a week ago, so after all the lockdowns etc I can't do much. They reckon 8 weeks till I'm out of plaster so I'm expecting to go back into lockdown in about six weeks.

Me, paraoid?

And cases will shot up even more, including the number of people in hospital and people dying….

I’m not sure this will actually mean ‘less of strain’ tbh.

KaptainKaveman · 22/07/2021 17:18

What do you mean 'finally'? Confused. The man is incompetent and unfit for any kind of public office. He was raised on a diet of hubris mixed in with narcissism, male white privilege and indolence. He has never had to work for anything in his life because his money and connections have bought it all. He is a fraud, a cheat (sexual, financial etc) and he steals from the public purse because he can.

And so many people voted for that. Imagine it! and we laughed at the Americans voting Trump in.

ZoomOnToast · 22/07/2021 17:19

I have heard some people say that this is part of Boris cunning plan to sell off the NHS. I am not sure about this.

I do think he is easily influenced and manipated and really only cares about popular opinion.

I also thinks he is happy to lie and manipulate the public, his colleagues, his friends and his family. I can't believe his wife knew about all those affairs.

He is quite simply not a good man, nor a good leader

It is true, half at least of Tory MPs are crooks.

@Savannahnanana

The problem isn’t Covid, it’s all the pinging. He needs to cancel the App so that people aren’t isolating needlessly. If we’d had a workable App at the beginning, when cases were so low, it would have been really useful but now it’s just pointless and people are staying at home for no reason. Most people I know have deleted it but we have a few friends and relatives who are too frightened to get rid of it. My brother in law has isolated 3 times in the last month alone. He’s double jabbed. What exactly was the point of being vaccinated if everyone is constantly insisting on isolating? It’s nuts.
That’s assuming that using the app is useless and is ‘pinging’ people ALWAYS unnecessarily.

Now we know that sometimes it does. It has been known since the start really. The fact numbers are astronomical now and weren’t in December is the fact that there are less restriction so people are mixing more and therefore more people are at risk.
People are not staying at home for no reason at all. They are staying at home because they have been put in contact with Covid positive people. And we have more people because there are more cases and less restrictions.
Not because suddenly the app isn’t working well enough.

I’m sure you’re right. Hopefully they won’t leave it too late. Whoever inherits this lot is getting a poison chalice.

No it wouldn't have been. All children and about 10% of adults still wouldn't be jabbed so we would still see a wave. Maybe not as big but it would run into the colder months and possibly cause more overall deaths (not just covid ones)
ChocolateDeficitDisorder · 22/07/2021 17:27

I don't agree, I reckon somewhere between 8-10% of elected Conservative representatives are honest.

User135644 · 22/07/2021 17:28

No because the Telegraph columnists would have given him a hard time.

wjg65ka · 22/07/2021 17:30

It's only gonna get worse from here on really. Absolute shambles

longwayoff · 22/07/2021 17:30

Interesting. The usual Bozo apologists haven't rushed on here to tell us how wrong we all are and what a genius he is, really, what with the Latin et al. Perhaps they're awaiting instructions. Is the wind changing?

User135644 · 22/07/2021 17:31

do you think Johnson is finally losing it?

That would be a concern because he's done such a good job so far.

markmichelle · 22/07/2021 17:31

According to some comments and some of them were in The Times it is probable that more of his MPs are not happy with him. That might soon lead to a rebellion.

I think the government are clearly imploding and if the polls turn Boris will be pushed out.
GCrebel · 22/07/2021 17:34

Coronavirus hits the poor and the old hardest (as a class). A puppet Buffoon in charge makes it look like simple incompetence. I'm not so sure it is.

Don’t hold your breath, I’m sure the copy and paste Queen will be along as soon as her shift at Tory HQ starts.
