...do you think Johnson is finally losing it?

Assuming he had control in the first place...is it just me Johnson seems to be getting more incomprehensible and wild eyed!? ...999 calls are taking 10 minutes to be answered...Not enough paramedics/health staff available...there may be issues in the supply chain for food...people being pinged lots,... essential workers off isolaging....and numbers of people with the virus going up....would waiting to get everyone jabbed in August have been the sensible option?

Agree that he never had it.

He's proved that Dom is right and that The Telegraph is his boss

ilovesooty · 22/07/2021 15:38

@Bollindger

Ok. So please give YOUR plans to solve Covid. We are in a no win place, the same as every country, even New Zealand now has cases on the rise, nothing works 100% and you can't please everyone.
How is that relevant to the fact that Johnson has always been unfit to govern and has surrounded himself with an incompetent cabinet?
newnortherner111 · 22/07/2021 15:43

No, as he never had a plan in the first place, not just for Covid 19.

@Bollindger although not the purpose of the thread, I would have kept compulsory face coverings in most indoors situations, would not be having large gatherings (say only 20% full in stadiums), would have working from home other than perhaps one day a week for those who can and were wfh. I'd also have proper border controls and staff airports properly- the Borders Agency could do a lot with the £54m given to France for example.

New Zealand has been running at between 6 and 18 cases a day since January. Hardly comparable, is it?
Theunamedcat · 22/07/2021 15:46

People voted for him persistently voted for him despite knowing what he was like

A lot of these things are out of his personal control

FrenchMustard · 22/07/2021 15:47

He never had it in the first place. I think he's a bit like the equivalent of how Jeremy Corbyn started out, the joke candidate they thought would never get to the top (except I think Jeremy Corbyn actually has a brain). Its become massively apparent Boris isn't running the show at all, he's like some gormless figure head being used as a mouthpiece whilst the rest of the cabinet are running things according to their own agendas and what the donors want. When all this is over he will be used as a scapegoat and it will all be his fault. They are all collectively fucking useless.

onanotherday · 22/07/2021 15:54

I agree he never had it to begin with.....so as they go on their holidays , no doubt paid for and in private jets...who exactly is going be at the helm? ...
If feels like we are beginning to spiral ever down and helpless to change anything! 😨scary

OP posts:
TotorosCatBus · 22/07/2021 15:56

I think it's scary that MPs still take their long holidays when others had holidays cancelled or working longer hours for the same pay.

marieantoinehairnet · 22/07/2021 16:01

The holidays but are a joke, it's a bit mutinous, how can they all did off on hols at this critical point

Loki01 · 22/07/2021 16:03

Does it matter? People will still vote that Bafoon in.

Lemonmelonsun · 22/07/2021 16:06

I have to say yes, I'm not a rabid Labour voter either, I'm a swing voter and all of a sudden supermarket bosses are begging us not to panic buy!

BadgerB · 22/07/2021 16:14

Maybe it's because Carrie is pulling his strings now, not Dominic?

adeleh · 22/07/2021 16:18

Yes, but he is likely to keep getting away with it because of people like Bollindger, who will do their utmost to keep defending the utterly indefensible. He knows how to keep playing to his own particular fan base.

ballsdeep · 22/07/2021 16:19

@marieantoinehairnet

We're gunna end up with Rishi in charge, mark my words
100% totally agree!!! He makes Johnson look like a baffoon.

Tbh I haven't even been outraged or surprised with the Cummings stuff. It's just expected that he is corrupt and basically a wanker

SonnetForSpring · 22/07/2021 16:21

@Dustyboots

Wild eyed OP? I don’t look at him or listen to him anymore. He makes me too angry.

Someone on here mentioned he was taking lots of cocaine to get through this. Maybe that’s why he’s losing it and is wild eyed.

He must be taking something. Completely lost the plot.
quiteathome · 22/07/2021 16:22

Why do MPs follow school holidays? (Actually probably longer than school holidays) Do they do constituency work in this time.

And yes I think Johnson is completely losing it. Although I probably would if I had to run the country through a pandemic.

ivykaty44 · 22/07/2021 16:22

With 600000 having to self isolate in a week, isn’t it our fault by not being sensible….

Lockdown by ping instead so it’s not the government informing it and furloughed staff will stop costing

Syndicalism emotion would be useful

AnyFucker · 22/07/2021 16:25

would waiting to get everyone jabbed in August have been the sensible option

No

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 22/07/2021 16:25

And yet… if there was a general election tomorrow he’d still be Prime Minister on Saturday. You get the government you vote for 🤷‍♀️

VickyEadieofThigh · 22/07/2021 16:27

@LolaSmiles

I think he knows exactly what he is doing: taking orders from his mates who want to get rich.

A free for all over summer is not about the general public. It's about making money.

What's disgusting is that him and his government seem very keen to actively undermine testing and tracing in order to make money happen.

Pretty much this, I think.
52andblue · 22/07/2021 16:29

My (ex) MIL had a fall at home on Tues. Discovered at 10am by relative.
999 call took 10mins to answer. Ambulance took 5 hours to arrive.
Bluelighted into Brummie hospital and parked in corridor. Crew stayed with her. Finally triaged at 9pm. Fortunately nothing major it seems.

'Lockdown by Ping', blaming the public, no accountability from Govt
I imagine Johnson is on drugs (doesn't he drink quite a bit too?)
Interesting the comments from Cummings this week too.
Johnson doesn't care, never has, never will. Criminally negligent imo.

itsgettingwierd · 22/07/2021 16:31

@Twickerhun

Oh he never had it, the plot was lost at birth
Grin

I did immediately think to loose it you had to possess it in the first place!

Personally I think it shows how those around him were holding him up - but whether those people were good for the country too remains to be proven (Cummings and Hancock)

Savannahnanana · 22/07/2021 16:34

The problem isn’t Covid, it’s all the pinging. He needs to cancel the App so that people aren’t isolating needlessly. If we’d had a workable App at the beginning, when cases were so low, it would have been really useful but now it’s just pointless and people are staying at home for no reason. Most people I know have deleted it but we have a few friends and relatives who are too frightened to get rid of it. My brother in law has isolated 3 times in the last month alone. He’s double jabbed. What exactly was the point of being vaccinated if everyone is constantly insisting on isolating? It’s nuts.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 22/07/2021 16:35

It’s actually scary to think he’s taking cocaine to get through this. Although I’ve only read that on MN.

Watching the interview with DC makes it all seem really weird and scary, how do these people end up running the country? I’m sure I could do a better job because I have common sense. But I don’t want the job.

It's not just the bloody app, there's quite a lot of covid about too, our school was rampant with it this week, and it does make you quite ill 🙄
