Dom claims Boris said Telegraph his boss?

179 replies

Many claims in latest interview

www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-57854811

How Boris dident think anyone under 80 would be hospitalised or die.
He regrets lockdowns
Ignored his scientists
Wanted to keep up meetings with the Queen as he dident consider the risks.

That the right wing press mainly the telegraph is his boss.
Did any of the refurbishment donation or free trips come from certain media?

Given the fact Boris was hospitalised and nearly died I find his attitude locking down too late 2nd and 3rd time and opening up now really odd.

Don't know if doms out for revenge
What he said doesn't really seem that inplausible.

So many new changes always leaked in the telegraph.

OP posts:

But he’s typing not speaking. We’re used to hearing him talk. Most people use fewer words in writing than orally. Which is probably why he sounds like a MNer.

User135644 · 20/07/2021 09:17

I can see why Carrie threw a laptop at him.

What? There's no excuse for domestic violence.

GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 20/07/2021 09:17

Not many people read the Telegraph, but almost all Tory MPs do.

MarshaBradyo · 20/07/2021 09:24

I cannot stand Cummings hearing his voice again, his revenge and his inability to provide information to select committee

Naaaaah · 20/07/2021 09:25

@Worldgonecrazy

The question is, what could there possibly be on Johnson that would affect his political standing? Fucked a pigs head? Several bastard children? Shagged another woman whilst his wife was having treatment for cancer? An ex mistress who was an‘ex model’ (which is tabloid speak for ‘prostitute but can’t prove it’)?

If a story broke that Johnson cavorted naked in jam whilst sodomising a baby donkey and drinking the blood of babies, people would still vote for him and he would still be prime minister.

That’s how broken our system is.

Love how vivid your imagination is! Your mind seems like a dark, dark place 😁 You're not wrong though. He cannot be held to account for anything. He just ignores questions, mumbles and blusters around and defers to other people. He doesn't give a shit if he's heckled and he has no conscience, so can't be shamed. I would personally like to see him in stocks, wheeled out round the country so everyone could kick him in the gonads throw rotten tomatoes at him.
User135644 · 20/07/2021 09:26

@Terhou

It's always been pretty obvious that most of Johnson's decision-making is based on what the right-wing Press wants.
To be fair that's been true of every PM since Thatcher with 1 or 2 exceptions.
User135644 · 20/07/2021 09:29

I don't really get this "right wing press" thing. Have you not read the papers recently? The DT is generally pissed off as it wants more freedom, and therefore is critical of the current govt.

Why do you think he's gone all in for 'freedom day' yesterday when it was becoming clear that the Delta variant (due to his own stupidity) was already getting out of hand? He didn't want to piss off the right wing press and commentators. He got enough blowback after the one month delay.

SpringheelJack · 20/07/2021 09:31

Honestly, I think this guy is just desperate to stay relevant. Nobody outside of government gives a shit about him now he's out. He keeps dropping these "truth bombs" that don't surprise anyone who's been paying attention (BoJo? An arsehole? Who'd have thought?!) What's the point of him?

PerkingFaintly · 20/07/2021 09:33

@Cornettoninja

Tbf *@gamerchick* I don’t think his priority is making friends. His selling point is manipulation and diversion, this is basically showcasing his skills.

Nobody hires Dominic Cummings as an ally, they hire him so he’s on their side not against. I’m sure he’s not acting without patronage at the moment. Could play out either way at the moment but I’m sure that he will personally end up wherever he’s got his eye on.

This.

I actually find it fascinating because it is giving some insight and it is affirming my assumptions about the prime minister.

And it is hugely relevant to hear what a bunch of charlatans are in charge.

PerkingFaintly · 20/07/2021 09:53

Kuenssberg needs to cut the umbilical cord with Cummings. She's got herself into the same situation that Maggie Haberman did with Trump, where she doesn't want to lose the access so ends up acting as the mouthpiece. Well, either that or she's perfectly aware and intentionally pushing Cummings' agenda.

She chucks critical comments in there as "balance", but by publishing the pieces at all, she's getting his message out there. As you say, it's extremely unusual that a completely unelected figure, now sacked, is getting all this airtime to tell his own story.

And don't forget Cummings is still in contempt of Parliament for refusing to turn up in front of a Select Committee, which was doing its job by examining how democracy functioned during the referendum campaigns.

He's not exactly Mr Truth-The-Whole-Truth.

Zero point to him

He said we’d hear less from him after last time. He should just do that.

Couldn’t loathe him more

PerkingFaintly · 20/07/2021 09:57

I agree completely. But it needs to be more third-person, driven by neutral journalists (if there is such a thing left), not turn into the Cummings Show.

Ditto...
longwayoff · 20/07/2021 10:07

Cummings isnt even halfway there yet, folks. More to come, depending on . . . Let's see. He wants something; Johnson out, Gove (bring on the garlic and crucifixes) in? Shudder. We've got Cummings to thank for both Brexit and Johnson, apparently. Hard to choose whom to despise most.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 20/07/2021 10:46

@Cornettoninja

Funny you say that- an ex-Coke head mate of mine said exactly this. Reckons he’s got long Covid and is using coke to keep going

The only reason I can’t get on board with the Coke theory is that it would be monumentally stupid given his physical status, age and the possibility of damage done by covid. He’s a walking heart attack in the best circumstances never mind adding coke in the mix.

That said, I wouldn’t be shocked if he had a problem with prescribed medication. Not much better but there’s a very different mindset with the acceptability of legal medication.

Nah, Boris is the kind of guy who ignores medical advice, he’d be non-compliant with any prescribed treatment just as he’s non-compliant with the laws of the land, social mores and values. Much more likely he’s a good old-fashioned heavy drinker.
GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 20/07/2021 10:46

Cummings appears to be Team Rishi. But surely Sunak wouldn’t be fool enough to hire him? It’s only a matter of time before he bites any hand that feeds him.

Well-read by the military too, I'm told.
FoolsAssassin · 20/07/2021 11:02

Cummings is definitely a man with a plan and historically his plans have gone to plan. Hancock is gone, Johnson clearly next in the firing line and the timing of this just as we have passed Freedom Day is significant.

He’s thrown his lot in with some one or most likely a few people and no doubt this will become clear in time. Everything he does is well thought out, down to wearing a shirt for the Kuenssberg interview.

Reminds me of this Trump quote: ""I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK? It's, like, incredible."

Depends what he’s got on Sunak and what he can gain from him.

I do feel that someone is using Boris as a sacrifice the same way he used TM after brexit. Just waiting in the wings. I don’t trust the entire cabinet. Boris would be silly not to be looking over his shoulder right now.

Et tu brute eh Bozza?

TotorosCatBus · 20/07/2021 11:19

@3asAbird

I assume the whats app message has been verified. I can imagine Boris saying things like recalibrate.

Wondet how over 80s tory voters feel this morning.

I think it's the anti-lockdown people who are going to be pissed off. I saw people on here say the same and they were basically advocating that only the elderly shield indefinitely or that people reaching life expectancy wasn't something to worry about.

This was a time when iirc Wales had a 2 week half term (or 1week half term followed by 1 week home learning ) to create a firebreak because infections in schools were rising.

I thought Rishi got the job because of Cummings. Cummings wanted a yes man as Javid's replacement and Rishi who was a junior minister at the time agreed and seems to have kept his word.

I think he should be concerned about the ERG and 1922 Committee doing a TM on him. He can hardly complain when he encouraged them when it suited.
