Dom claims Boris said Telegraph his boss?

Many claims in latest interview

www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-57854811

How Boris dident think anyone under 80 would be hospitalised or die.
He regrets lockdowns
Ignored his scientists
Wanted to keep up meetings with the Queen as he dident consider the risks.

That the right wing press mainly the telegraph is his boss.
Did any of the refurbishment donation or free trips come from certain media?

Given the fact Boris was hospitalised and nearly died I find his attitude locking down too late 2nd and 3rd time and opening up now really odd.

Don't know if doms out for revenge
What he said doesn't really seem that inplausible.

So many new changes always leaked in the telegraph.

Cummings is odd and I’m not a fan but the vast majority of what he’s said lines up with things others have verified or investigated. He’s odd but he’s meticulous and careful. The Beeb would require the kind of evidence that would stand up in court to air these claims against Johnson

SpindleWhorl · 20/07/2021 00:41

I have always wondered about Jennifer Arcuri tbh. That tale was never fully told.

BillyShears · 20/07/2021 00:47

Agree. Always felt there was a bit of that story missing.
HmmmmmmInteresting · 20/07/2021 00:48

Tory Laura looks awful here! The pandemic seems to have aged her

vera99 · 20/07/2021 05:33

It might not be coke could be medically prescribed Adderall for instance to help with his concentration. It would lead to similar symptoms - Trump was rumoured to be on it.

SophieB100 · 20/07/2021 05:45

Boris was never on a ventilator, and he never said he was. He was taken to ICU as he was extremely poorly and had cpap - but he didn't need intubating.
Ventilating is the next stage after a period on cpap.

I don't like the man, I don't like Cummings, but I have no doubt he was very poorly, which makes his reticence on locking down (too late) and his current 'let it rip' stance all the more baffling. He knows first hand how dangerous Covid is.

newnortherner111 · 20/07/2021 07:15

All that Mr Cummings says may be 100% true. Most of what he says about Mr Johnson is not news, we knew about it any way.

After Barnard Castle no-one takes Mr Cummings seriously and so it will not have much of an impact.

Lemonmelonsun · 20/07/2021 07:47

He looked like a man with a demanding wife, a small baby, a hugely stressful job and possibly covid again!
He looks like he's got covid

Cornettoninja · 20/07/2021 07:59

Funny you say that- an ex-Coke head mate of mine said exactly this. Reckons he’s got long Covid and is using coke to keep going

The only reason I can’t get on board with the Coke theory is that it would be monumentally stupid given his physical status, age and the possibility of damage done by covid. He’s a walking heart attack in the best circumstances never mind adding coke in the mix.

That said, I wouldn’t be shocked if he had a problem with prescribed medication. Not much better but there’s a very different mindset with the acceptability of legal medication.

SpindleWhorl · 20/07/2021 08:20

I think a risk-taker like Johnson may well have become dependent on medications and substances a long time ago.

His character suggests not just a desire for risk-taking, but also an over-reliance on external agents - people and things - as well as his sense of entitlement.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 20/07/2021 08:21

Prescribed medication sounds very likely to me.
I just can’t believe his enemies wouldn’t have shopped him if it was coke.

longwayoff · 20/07/2021 08:24

it would be monumentally stupid. Yes, wouldn't it. Generally speaking, I find that's often a feature in coke users, it's an effect of it that monumentally stupid to observers is yes, this is a brilliant idea of mine

longwayoff · 20/07/2021 08:26

Bloody phone. To the user.

Worldgonecrazy · 20/07/2021 08:29

The question is, what could there possibly be on Johnson that would affect his political standing? Fucked a pigs head? Several bastard children? Shagged another woman whilst his wife was having treatment for cancer? An ex mistress who was an‘ex model’ (which is tabloid speak for ‘prostitute but can’t prove it’)?

If a story broke that Johnson cavorted naked in jam whilst sodomising a baby donkey and drinking the blood of babies, people would still vote for him and he would still be prime minister.

That’s how broken our system is.

GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 20/07/2021 08:32

I think it’s all strictly true though obviously highly selected and some of it may be spun. If you’re that close to someone for that long in a moment of crisis and you create an atmosphere of informality and “straight talking” then you will gather a whole heap of comments which would be damaging if released.

The Telegraph thing I can imagine being said by literally any prime minister of the last sixty years about one newspaper or another in a cynical moment. Possibly not Thatcher. It’s so unshocking that it makes me doubt that there’s an actual smoking gun with incontrovertible evidence of corruption out there.

StealthPolarBear · 20/07/2021 08:34

Yes what more can there be to leak?
Clearly people love him despite the long list of things he has done wrong.

gamerchick · 20/07/2021 08:35

Meh even if it is true, the fact he kept quiet until he was pissed off makes him a dickhead who nobody will trust as a friend.

It seems that no matter what Boris does, people will still like him. Brain boggles.

Cornettoninja · 20/07/2021 08:42

Tbf @gamerchick I don’t think his priority is making friends. His selling point is manipulation and diversion, this is basically showcasing his skills.

Nobody hires Dominic Cummings as an ally, they hire him so he’s on their side not against. I’m sure he’s not acting without patronage at the moment. Could play out either way at the moment but I’m sure that he will personally end up wherever he’s got his eye on.

Cornettoninja · 20/07/2021 08:45

The pigs head was Cameron wasn’t it @Worldgonecrazy?

Very true @longwayoff although I still lean towards a reliance on prescription medication if I’m looking at it from that angle. The man is a hedonist but he’s also a slave to peoples perception of him and prescription medication offers a veneer of respectability and privacy that cocaine doesn’t.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 20/07/2021 08:48

I don't believe for one minute BJ nearly died. If it was one of us plebs I don't think we would have been hospitalised let alone see intensive care at his stage of covid

Terhou · 20/07/2021 08:58

It's always been pretty obvious that most of Johnson's decision-making is based on what the right-wing Press wants.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 20/07/2021 09:03

Fucked a pigs head?

He did what now?Shock

DottyHarmer · 20/07/2021 09:06

I don't really get this "right wing press" thing. Have you not read the papers recently? The DT is generally pissed off as it wants more freedom, and therefore is critical of the current govt. And as for the Daily Mail, it lurches between "We're all doomed" and "Why are we not free?" in order to cover all bases - and of course clicks.

If you think the right wing press is all for Boris you clearly don't read any

Additionally, not that many people even read the Telegraph. The Mail of course gets a lot of readers (including those on here who swear they don't read it but seem strangely extremely familiar with every story) because it's free online, but, as I said, it is definitely not bullish about our current position.

3asAbird · 20/07/2021 09:07

I assume the whats app message has been verified.
I can imagine Boris saying things like recalibrate.

Wondet how over 80s tory voters feel this morning.

Dom claims Boris said Telegraph his boss?
OP posts:
Abraxan · 20/07/2021 09:12

I don't think that reads like BJ tbh though.
It sounds more like the words of some MNetters or some on social media I've read, rather than those coming from a blustering BJ. Not enough waffle.
