If you've been out today what has been the general consensus?

Been shopping this afternoon and was so nice albeit really strange to not wear my mask! I hesitated going in at first because it felt like I'd forgotten something!

If you've been out today, what did you find was the general consensus of people around you either wearing or not wearing masks?

I actually didn't see anyone in a mask which surprised me as I thought quite a lot would still wear them!

I've only been to the gym and no one wore a mask except me but mask compliance has been poorly enforced there anyway

I wonder if it will go down the route of smoking like it did years ago.....

Everyone in our supermarket was wearing a mask, but only a couple at school drop off / pick up (which is outside).

Train into London this morning - everyone wearing a mask except for one f*wit who got on at Sevenoaks and insisted on ventilating his beard whilst coughing profusely. Almost everyone moved down to the next carriage to avoid him.

I went in to a small Co op today- every single person I saw was wearing a mask so I wore one too. I’d be happier not to but I’m generally a conformist and most of my fellow shoppers were elderly; so if it helps them to feel safer, it doesn’t cost me anything to put it on for a few minutes.

Went to two leisure centres to work. Wore mask into the building as everyone else was. Nice to get into the fitness studio though and find the floor markings have all been removed so people can choose a space to work out in rather than having to get in a box 😆

Went to asda and around the local town and a few shops…albeit briefly

I didn’t see anyone not wearing a mask

I forgot and wore my mask. Obviously didn't notice lots of other people without masks as it didn't cross my mind I didn't have to wear it until after. Or maybe I'm just ignorant.

@Chillychangchoo I think you're wrong actually. There are enough people not wearing them today and previously to go ahead and not comply. I think some people genuinely want to feel as though they're doing their bit, are still concerned about getting it and actually do want carry on wearing them because it makes them feel a little bit safter.

Not a literal box. That wouldn’t be a good way to have a work out.

London - tube and train, nearly all wearing masks. If anything, the guidance to still wear masks has improved mask wearing. Vast majority of shops and cafes still asking people to wear masks.

Crazy that companies are having to be stricter than the government.

Popped into Go Outdoors earlier. All the customers were wearing masks but the staff weren't - which I found a little surprising as they were all too young to have been double jabbed (unless they have priority for reasons other than age). There was still hand sanitiser at the entrance though.
DH has been to the dentist and an eye consultant appointment today. Obviously no changes in either of those settings.

No mask wearers at the gym even staff.
Two people in masks at the shops.
No one at my work or dps but we haven't worn them for months.

@Florelei I'm in the NE aswel & was happy to see common sense prevail. Everyone in shops, on buses & indoor areas have had masks on.

I think as more see others not wearing compliance will go down.

I’ve seen everyone wearing a mask today. The other day I saw one person without one but that’s normal as some people have always been exempt.

I think this is how it should be.
It’s no trouble wearing a mask for 20mins whilst you go to the shop but wearing them all day especially in the heat can be really uncomfortable. So I think workers shouldn’t have to wear them but customers should.

Went to Tesco this morning. About 30% of people wearing masks. I'm in the north west.

South West coast today on a train and I would say 90% plus of people wearing them. Very relieved!!

I also think as the numbers go up
Those not wearing masks will decrease
Then as they go down the number of people not wearing masks will increase.

I still have to wear them all day at work.
Still mandatory in the healthcare setting unsurprisingly.
I had a patient at 8am "rowing me up" because it is freedom day and it is his choice not to wear a mask and he isn't a sheep and I'm honestly tired of those kind of people.

Thankfully I don’t actually care what people think of me and I have my own mind so I’ll happily not wear one and feel okay about it

I went to sainsbury and petrol
Wore a mask in both and others were too
I will continue to do so for some time yet

I often wonder what some of the PP are like RL. If I heard any of my friends speaking like some of these posts I'd give them a very wide berth! What dreadful unpleasant people to be around. Horses for courses though.

Waitrose, only one person not wearing a mask. Looked old enough to be a Daily Fail reader. Central London, no change. Very few outside wearing masks, but inside it was BAU.

I went in a supermarket twice and EVERYONE without exception (and I really mean that) was wearing masks. EVERYONE.
