I wondered if it was worth keeping a list of which cos are keeping masks? So that we can use/avoid depending on preference?

Eg, Ryanair are keeping them as mandatory

@Elys3 Round here the staff cant wait to remove them. Pushing heavy pallets around and shelf stacking isnt bloody desk work.

Sparklingbrook · 09/07/2021 00:07

I know a lot of retail staff who want to keep them for staff and customers because the public have no awareness of personal space.

MercyBooth · 09/07/2021 01:10

@Sparklingbrook Not in my experience. Ive always been careful Ive had to be.

Meanwhile at Wembley..........

I don’t see the comparison between Wembley and a shop.
I just know the people I’ve spoken to in retail want to keep the mask when it’s not compulsory any more and I think that’s wise.

I’ve never been in a shop where it’s been like sardines, no.

Exactly.

It is shop workers and bus drivers I feel sorry for.

Wembley is outdoors, the concourse is outdoors isn't it? So there will be little risk there. Packed trains will be a problem so again hopefully people will use their common sense and collective responsibility and use face covers in busy indoor areas.

Elys3 · 09/07/2021 08:41

For what it’s worth I’ve heard both points of view - staff who want to continue with masks and distancing and those who can’t wait to do away with it all. Probably depends on what they are doing in their workplaces and how vulnerable they feel.

Exactly most concourses arent outdoors, why someone thinks they are I don't know.

Sparklingbrook · 09/07/2021 19:57

I have only ever been to Anfield. Which bit is the concourse?

loulouljh · 09/07/2021 20:16

I will certainly avoid anywhere expecting masks. So over it.

Jellykat · 09/07/2021 20:24

I will certainly avoid anywhere not expecting masks. Its not over even though some seem to think it is.

newnortherner111 · 09/07/2021 20:50

When your local shop runs out of something because it cannot be delivered for a while because of drivers being off, then you will realise that the pandemic is not over.

Isn't some of that down to a nationwide shortage of HGV drivers?
AntiMaskersAreTwats · 09/07/2021 21:02

This is a photo taken at Wembley the other night queuing to get to seats. It was packed, everyone singing and shouting, and it was inside not out. Fucking ridiculous that this was allowed to happen. I honestly don’t know why people aren’t more pissed off about it.

What's that got to do with masks?

Sparklingbrook · 09/07/2021 21:14

I've got adblocker so Daily Mail won't let me look. Mick Jagger broke some rules? He's wearing a mask in the pic I could see.

MercyBooth · 09/07/2021 21:29

Didnt quarantine when coming back from France.

Sparklingbrook · 09/07/2021 21:30

Oh ok, I guess he'll have a fine to pay but that won't trouble him too much.

RoseAndRose · 09/07/2021 21:32

@olivethegreat

I think you're going to have to start a new thread, as this one has wandered so far from its original purpose

ilovesooty · 09/07/2021 21:38

Nothing to do with masks then.
Wishfulthinking1977 · 09/07/2021 21:50

If anyone could compile a comprehensive list of businesses including essential, non essential shops, restaurants and bars etc based on their mask policies I would be very grateful! I know it probably can't be done until after Monday! Just I haven't been able to go anywhere they are needed for a year so I am looking so I can start planning a return to my former life!! Thanks! Xx

This. It's no fun wearing a mask for a full day of course, I can understand the retail staff who'll be glad to stop. I'll be upgrading to ffp2, up to now my mask has been to protect colleagues and customers, and many of them return the courtesy. When I can't count on that - in my workplace, with hundreds of customers every day - I'll be wearing a mask to protect my family instead.
