Not really true.

TheVampiresWife · 01/07/2021 07:40

To be fair the Fail isn't the only news outlet reporting this.

It's fantastic news!

I think a lot of people will continue to wear them.

SirSamuelVimes · 01/07/2021 07:43

I hope my workplace will scrap them

ineedaholidaynow · 01/07/2021 07:47

What’s a mouth guard? Thought that’s what rugby players wear

ButYouGottaHaveASkillJeff · 01/07/2021 07:47

Same. People put them on to walk two steps to the printer. So pointless.

Whatalottachocca · 01/07/2021 07:49

People who want to wear them can carry on. Meanwhile, the rest of us can smile at each other again. (I won't actually believe it until I hear it come out of Bojo's mouth though!)

fat13 · 01/07/2021 07:50

I’m worried shops and other places will insist on them anyway Sad

Mumdiva99 · 01/07/2021 07:52

To be fair they have leaked everything else to the papers before announcing it. But I thought the next date was to remove all restrictions anyway and that'swhat has been delayed...maybe I have misunderstood.

It does seem a bit odd to remove restrictions when cases are still rising....but if hospitalisations aren't then carry on.

Roselilly36 · 01/07/2021 07:53

That will be the best news, can’t stand wearing one, please let it be true.

ineedaholidaynow · 01/07/2021 07:53

Israel got rid of them and then brought them back, so I wouldn’t be throwing them away quite yet

WouldBeGood · 01/07/2021 07:53

Fingers-bloody-crossed!

Though I’m in Scotland so probably masked forever 🤷🏻‍♀️

bluejelly · 01/07/2021 07:54

I'll carry on wearing mine in enclosed spaces. I think lots will

Anitawiglit12 · 01/07/2021 07:54

Good news. Recently I was getting On the bus to work and realised I had forgotten my mask. Not ideal but these things happen sometimes, I wasn’t going to be late to work and not get on the bus.
Heard two women tutting and sniping about how I was allowed on. Pathetic really, also heard of people being verbally abused over them.

Classicbrunette · 01/07/2021 07:54

I’m fed up with face masks. I won’t wear one if I don’t have to.

Twelvetimestwo · 01/07/2021 07:57

Yay!!!

Crackingowlsanctuary · 01/07/2021 07:58

Can’t wait!

Lucidas · 01/07/2021 07:59

You would have to be incredibly dense to be unvaccinated (aka collateral damage) as we go into the next stage of reopening. We’ll probably be at 50k cases a day by 19th July, with a variant that’s far more transmissible, and levels of social mixing (nightclubs etc) not seen since before last the pandemic.

Reopening makes sense domestically, but I wonder how other countries will view the UK when it becomes even more of a delta festering ground.

WouldBeGood · 01/07/2021 08:00

I have no issue with others who want to continue with them

mrshoho · 01/07/2021 08:01

🤣 I thought the very same reading that headline! Does that mean nose coverings will still be mandatory??
knittingaddict · 01/07/2021 08:01

I would too if they offered the same protection to me as they do to others around me. Since they are mostly to protect others, and those others won't wear one, then I can't see the point anymore. I say that as a strong supporter of mask wearing and social distancing.

I might wear one in shops etc just to feel like I'm doing something to help. I would do it if shop staff are still having to as well, out of respect for their discomfort.

Chatterbox1987 · 01/07/2021 08:01

If they do that, it will soon be scrapped when people avoid those shops.
