I can't help thinking that before the pandemic there was Brexit, that then took so long to get any kind of deal on; that the deal was nothing like what Boris thought he would bring home (with May not being enough of a rogue to do it); and that was also handled cack-handedly. Whether it started to paint us as a laughing stock - it definitely didn't make us win (EU) friends and influence people.
And yes, the Boris act is indeed very cleverly and consistently curated.
