@StormBaby

Gosh, I hope so.

Arrowheart · 29/06/2021 14:48

@HidingFromTheChildren

People should keep the masks. The lack of flu in 2020 shows that in my opinion.

Theres not much difference at all between now and pre lockdown.

Happy to send my mask to you and you can wear it. I will never wear one again once that rule is gone.

Not much difference???? I personally think the successful vaccine roll out is a huge difference 🤷🏻‍♀️
RaisinsRuinEverything · 29/06/2021 15:02

Living in hope here too! Desperate to burn those masks, fuelled by sanitizer! But we have been here before, don’t want to get my hopes up too much until I know it’s definite. I suppose we’ll find out on 12th July?

ineedaholidaynow · 29/06/2021 15:04

Israel probably thought they had seen the last of masks, but haven't they had to reintroduce them?

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 15:13

Israel has double vaccinated less than the uk plus they may be going for zero covid whereas uk is not

We are being prepped to accept similar deaths to flu which is about 20,000 a year

But it has been 50,000 one year and we had no restrictions

20,000 averages 55 deaths a day which we are nowhere near

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 15:16

Israel

59/61% second and first doses

Uk

62/82 so we are much better position plus the 62% of those who’ve had 2 jabs inc almost 99% of those most at risk

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 15:16

84% not 82%

Baileysforchristmas · 29/06/2021 15:19

Yep I think the 19th July is happening, what is coming though is you will have to be vaccinated to go into a venue, it’s started on Europe.

@StormBaby

Just heard on the radio that deaths are at zero today. 👍🏼

We are being prepped by the government/media for the whole narrative to change to “we just have to live with it” now. All the articles, press releases and even adverts have now changed. Next time there is an ad break on tv just take note, loads of companies have released new advertising with everyone hugging, standing close, large groups of people. This is to reframe our thinking.

Really? Fabulous news!

I'd imagine there would be legal challenges to that.

Official figures show 23 deaths today, not 0!

Be interesting to see the current UK rate of deaths recorded as 'summer flu (at a time of worldwide low prevalence), stroke, pneumonia, heart attack, and sepsis...

Sky news have reported 23 deaths .
Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 16:20

stroke, pneumonia, heart attack, and sepsis...

All issues known to be caused by Covid.

What would also be good to know is whether the deaths after discharge - the many who appear recovered but then go on to die within 6 months, are being included in official figures.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 16:22

@ineedaholidaynow

Hong Kong have announced they don’t want us!
Well who would? We are a high risk country.

Very sensible of them.

Just because the UK government wants to import and let spread any and all new strains, have mass death and disability, doesn't mean other countries want to do the same.

Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 16:23

@Tealightsandd

I suspect many of those deaths were due to old age in the first place.

Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 16:25

@Tealightsandd

Mass death and disability? You sound hysterical.

These are simply not happening at high rates post vaccine. Wow.

It’s just dawning on me how many people are clearly not happy with restrictions ending, I mean it’s really quite astounding.

I mean, are you okay?

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 16:31

@Baileysforchristmas

Well it’s not putting people off in London already, many not wearing masks anymore, fan zones set up for the football and Wimbledon, many pop up bars along the Southbank, London will be heaving tonight, a lot of people won’t be wearing masks.
Well that's because London isn't a Tory voting shire. Londoners aren't allowed the protection other places got. That's why 20,000 of them are now dead.

Remember each time we had lockdowns it was only after Covid threatened to spread out from already badly hit London. Only when it looked like it would affect elsewhere was national action taken.

And still then no protection for Londoners. Wide open borders with hundreds of thousands flooding onto the busy public transport. No police roadblocks turning people away in London. That's for Tory voting areas only.

So Nothing new here. I mean, this is the capital of homelessness we're talking about. 165,000 homeless in London...and Silent But Deadly Sunak inflates the housing bubble through his inflate the bubble stamp duty holiday (that lost the taxpayer billions).

Yeah. Londoners, particularly vulnerable ones, have been fucked over for decades by successive governments. It's nothing new.

Iggly · 29/06/2021 16:34

I’m glad that the 19 July is hopeful but I will be thinking careful about not wearing a mask on public transport. I’ve lost count of the amount of colds and bugs I’ve picked up when regularly commuting. It’s my choice to wear a mask so fuck anyone who thinks to judge me.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 16:35

Still eventually the government panics and takes some sort of half hearted action. Afterall London taxes keep the rest of the country going. London pays in more than it gets out. The only region in the UK to do so.

As always too late the government will eventually do something. More restrictions. Only after yet more damage is done. Not just London. Everywhere. Deaths, disability, damaged businesses. It's inevitable with freely spreading Covid especially a new more vaccine resistant strain.

Oh isn't 'Great' Britain marvellous. Or not.

OliveTree75 · 29/06/2021 16:37

@Tealightsandd what are you rambling about?

Lemonmelonsun · 29/06/2021 16:38

I have really hope restrictions are lifted but... This is still a fluid situation and I'm more than worried about winter than anything else

I'm concerned that people will become ill, and the gov will just force us to go through it without NHS back up support. Because.. They are saying they won't go back.
We need to go back and forth as needed until we've ridden this out

Haenow · 29/06/2021 16:40

@Tealightsandd

Are you suggesting multiple medics across the national are completing missing the diagnosis of Covid or are you suggesting they are incorrectly completing death certificates?
