@Watapalava

Nanny

Say it does go to 100,000 cases

Which is 5 x more than now

That would put hospitalisations (even if % now stayed same - which it won’t because of vaccines) then that would be 6000 or so in hospital

There were 40,000 at peak

So you see 100,000 really didn’t that big of a deal

6000 in hospital isn't a big deal?

Fuck me.

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 13:02

Works out 3 covid cases per uk hospital

Get a grip honestly you sound insane

Thewiseoneincognito · 29/06/2021 13:07

@NannyAndJohn don’t rise to them, you’re wasting your time.

They'll still be spouting the same old shit even when we end up back in lockdown.

Heads in the fucking sand.

Lol at 'Nanny knows best'. Grin It's the noisy data apparently. Is anyone's scaremongering MN bingo card full yet?

Thewiseoneincognito · 29/06/2021 13:16

@NannyAndJohn absolutely, some thread feel like you’re on a beach

NearlyAlwaysInsane · 29/06/2021 13:21

Another thread where people are spouting nonsense, except this isn't anti-vax nonsense but the 'let's keep locked down until we have zero cases worldwide' brigade.....

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2021 13:21

some thread feel like you’re on a beach

Is being on a beach allowed? Shock

Thewiseoneincognito · 29/06/2021 13:27

@Sparklingbrook of course it is! Enjoy!

I am in the landlocked Midlands and not on annual leave sadly.

As long as you socially distance, yes.
Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2021 13:32

I am nowhere nowhere a beach @NannyAndJohn and not on annual leave.
So that's out.

I think some certain mumsnetters have been stuck at home for 18 months and don’t realise what’s going on outside their front door, people are out and about already, restaurants and bars are busy, there will 100’s and thousands of people in London today to watch football on big screens with pop up bars which are set up all round London. You can spout to other mumsnetters as much as like but there are millions of people who don’t care anymore.

The problem is not caring anymore in a pandemic is rather foolish especially when cases are rising and we don’t have any clue what the outcome of this wave will be.
Baileysforchristmas · 29/06/2021 13:46

That maybe true but doesn’t mean it’s not happening, if you don’t leave your house you don’t know what’s going on outside.

OP posts:
Delatron · 29/06/2021 14:13

They clearly never leave their houses as they spend all day posting doom mongering crap on here. On every single bloody thread.

They’ve even infiltrated the sensible data thread. Which is not a discussion on predictions. And even the good news thread.

Out there in the real world, unfortunately for you scaremongers, people are living their lives normally. Going to pubs, restaurants, football matches. Booking holidays.

I have never met anyone in real life who spouts this crap. It makes these boards unbalanced and not reflective of the views of most of the population. As they just bombard every thread. The three of them. It must be awful to be that afraid. Maybe help is needed now?

Thewiseoneincognito · 29/06/2021 14:19

@Delatron I ‘pop on’ as I’m on the go, just like you do no doubt 😉 and trust me, I’m out there in the real world with my mask on of course.

No help needed for me, thank you though, I appreciate your concern 😊

Baileysforchristmas · 29/06/2021 14:24

@Delatron I agree, I only hear this view on mumsnet and it fascinates me, most people I know hardly mention Covid and want the restrictions to end ASAP. There’s going to be a lot of people (mumsnetters) who will be stuck at home while everyone else get on with their lives.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 29/06/2021 14:25

I do wonder if our mood hoover-doom mongering friends are vaccinated?

I’d be shitting my pants at life going back to normal if I was living in fear of getting Covid

Delatron · 29/06/2021 14:30

They don’t seem to have much faith in the vaccines. Or even acknowledge our fantastic vaccination program. It’s like vaccines don’t exist in this parallel universe.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 29/06/2021 14:33

Would make sense with why they have so little faith in the vaccines

HidingFromTheChildren · 29/06/2021 14:36

People should keep the masks. The lack of flu in 2020 shows that in my opinion.

Theres not much difference at all between now and pre lockdown.

valadon68 · 29/06/2021 14:40

I want this to end as much as anyone, but the govt as usual is letting political hubris trump common sense IMHO. Deaths have been going up steadily, or is it not a notable increase? Happy to be wrong, obviously.

StormBaby · 29/06/2021 14:43

Just heard on the radio that deaths are at zero today. 👍🏼

We are being prepped by the government/media for the whole narrative to change to “we just have to live with it” now. All the articles, press releases and even adverts have now changed. Next time there is an ad break on tv just take note, loads of companies have released new advertising with everyone hugging, standing close, large groups of people. This is to reframe our thinking.
