I think the point is the many of the Scottish fans weren't following any rules, loads came down and just celebrated in the streets, I don't think they were following any rules and the police didn't do anything. No doubt those who attended the actual game had to follow rules but that was the minority of fans that travelled down.

We have vaccines now that are pretty good at preventing death atm but should delta become wide spread throughout the general pop. then you only need a very small % to overwhelm the NHS and stop it from being able to deal with over 5m needing treatment.

I really don't understand the complacency.

Today I wanted to book to take my DD swimming...all the pools round here only permit 20 people per session for "family swimming" and are booked up for weeks. Yet we are going to the Grand Prix in July where mask wearing and social distancing will not be in place whilst inside Silverstone. 150,000+ people will be there.

Insanity. Have emailed my MP about this. 2k cases in Scotland are linked to football - imagine how many cases will be if 60k people go to Wembley! No masks, no distancing, no thing. Wrong on so many levels.

Crazy, yet my daughter will be missing two weeks of school again due to a spurious contact with someone in a lesson. Meanwhile the friends said confirmed case has been close to at break, extra curricular activities and on public transport to school do not have to isolate.

@SilverGlitterBaubles WOW and just to add if they only have six seconds with each fan and that is Covid related its easy to see how a laser pointer got smuggled in.

If I was a government that wanted the public to consent to me opening everything up too early… the main thing I would do is stage events that outrage people so much they demand something they previously didn’t want. Something they maybe even previously opposed. Tap into emotion to nudge people in the right direction. That’s how it works and it’s so clever and subtle I don’t blame people at all. That must be a really difficult situation for them. The only way I can try to look at it positively is that the hospital are doing everything they can to reduce further risk to that baby.

Does it seem fair? No. Is it in the best interests of that child in the environment it’s being cared for in? Yes.

Dreadfully sad situation for them. The hospital will be doing whatever they can to minimise the risk in that contained environment.
