Announcement tomorrow?

Is there any definite plan for a formal announcement tomorrow of the plans for the next step? I haven't seen anything, just curious what time it will be (as that often indicates whether it will be major news or not!)

It seems I was right about the exemption for weddings!

@Snapemalloy

Just so pointless announcing dates. As this whole debacle has proved people set store by them and are then wildly disappointed when they are inevitably delayed.
I know people get disappointed but no date would feel harder to me - just a personal feeling
bumbleymummy · 14/06/2021 18:29

No, but they’re counting them as COVID deaths and telling us how many of those people had been double vaccinated. This has scared some people because then they start to question whether a double vaccine is protective if people are still dying despite being vaccinated. Now we’re told that those double vaccinated people actually had ‘profound comorbities’ presumably to reassure us that a double vaccine is still effective for most people. I’m just wondering why they can’t tell us whether the non-vaccinated people who died also had ‘profound comorobidites’. If they did then their vaccine status makes little difference so it does make you wonder if that bit of information is being left out to encourage people to get their two jabs.

PuzzledObserver · 14/06/2021 18:29

@bumbleymummy

What about the deaths in the non vaccinated people? We’re they suffering from profound comorbidities too or are we just supposed to focus on the fact that they were unvaccinated?
In the absence of further information, I would assume it was similar to the profile of people who died of Covid before we had vaccines: people with comorbidities overrepresented, but some with no known preexisting health issue.

@TFISunny

Did Boris mean to say July 29th? I thought the delay was until the 19th.
He definitely said 29th. I have subtitles on and that's what they said too.

He's a fucking idiot. He can't even tell people the right bloody dates.

Donatella · 14/06/2021 18:31

I think he misspoke. Every other time he has said a date he has said 19th.

Yes I thought that as it's my dad's birthday, hence why I specifically noticed it.

I just think this whole thing would be better if they had levelled with people right from the start and said look. We don't know. We don't know when this thing will be "over" because it depends on a million different factors and a global response. Here are some possible scenarios and here is what we are aiming for.

@socalledfriend

He made one mistake . He literally just flew from cornwall to Brussels and back for the conference . Give the guy a break

Sceptics don't accept "we don't know". They'd just make it up.
Unsure33 · 14/06/2021 18:40

@Snapemalloy

It was always always said June 21 was earliest with provisos.

Some people just have cloth ears .

They do know some things and state the unknowns

Usually, but it’s Whitty and Vallance are better at this

Personally I prefer it in stages with aims

Just a we don’t know would have felt too depressing. But we’re all different so others may prefer your version
