Thank you. It’s still not going the right way and I feel really uneasy. We should have been ok by now, yet it feels really close here, so many kids off school Sad

Cheers @Notmulan. I’ll take a closer look when I’m on my laptop!

Is there a number of cases per day which will result in high hospital admissions and 'baked in' deaths even if everyone is double vaccinated?

Quartz2208 · 26/06/2021 17:03

It starting I think to spread everywhere.

US apnews.com/article/mo-state-wire-michael-brown-coronavirus-pandemic-health-89fa995c59397228d8d56e1ab45890ab

Portugal are now on the Germany list

www.portugalresident.com/new-blow-to-summer-travel-as-germany-red-lists-portugal-even-for-fully-vaccinated/

Italy have seen a rise in cases for the first time - small but that is how it starts

Also it looks like Blackburn/Bolton/HOunslow/Ealing are all showing drops in case rates

@Wakeupin2022

Secret there was a delay at one if the labs yesterday and Scottish figures were lower than expected.

It doesn't say though if they have now been added. So I suspect that it is 18k cases and in a day or so an extra 1k will be added for Scotland.

I thought that, but when I looked Scottish figures for today were minorly less than they were on 24th June, and England's were over 1500 more than they've been in this wave, so it looked more like England's rate was up.

Scotland does not look good though. Despite vaccinations they're recording their highest rates yet-previous high in January was around 2500, now they've had a few days (barring yesterday) close to 3k.

My optimism is sinking. Sad

Wakeupin2022 · 26/06/2021 17:43

Margaret things in Scotland may improve soon.

The schools have finished (well most if not all). And hopefully the impact of the Scotland games will start to lessen. There has been additional testing so hopefully these are finding cases they may not have found before and these people are isolating.

And vaccine uptake is very very high even though its slightly behind many areas when getting them in arms.

I am trying to remain positive........the case numbers are scary but I don't see we can really go back now as I think so many people have had enough.

I also think that is part of the issue in Scotland where restrictions have been tighter throughout.

MargaretThursday · 26/06/2021 18:20

Wakeup I agree. I think schools finishing will make a big difference looking at the heat maps. I certainly know of a couple of areas which have shot up the ranks where it's centred on 1-2 schools. Our area went up due to a couple of schools (one secondary, one primary) and is now back down again to really quite low as they closed bubbles etc.

But I did have to smile at:
And vaccine uptake is very very high even though its slightly behind many areas when getting them in arms.
Because my initial thought was "oh, isn't Scotland injecting into arms-I wonder why!" 🤣🤣🤣

And the football - Scotland is a lot of 15-44 year old men. The two coinciding should cause a drop

TheSunIsStillShining · 29/06/2021 17:18

We received our P. shots in another country yesterday (15yr old son too) and we were due to go back on sun. We have to go back fri late because the 4 flights over the weekend are 100% fully booked. Going to the football match.

So Hungary will be fucked as well quite soon.
not looking forward to coming back in 3 weeks.
