Thanks for all your work @boys3!

Guardian report on the FDA Innova tests recall I posted last night, which MRHA is now investigating:

Blackburn is quite literally off the scale (and therefore not shown).

But I do hope this week might be the peak for Blackburn.

I have been looking at the date of specimen analysis for Blackburn and Bolton (although I have not been as diligent in keeping history as you, boys3) and there are green shoots of hope. The case number reported today "only" included 15 cases from yesterday. Positivity rate might have also plateaued (albeit at a high level).

The rest of GM is still on the rise.

@wintertravel1980 Blackburn has certainly gone way beyond the rates reached by Bolton.

I feel bad about leaving it out - so its own dedicated graph

TheDinosaurTrain · 11/06/2021 21:51

Agree with you about JBM Boys3

Blackburn has lower vaccination rates than Bolton (amongst other issues) which meant it was going to be hit harder than Bolton. Bolton is at 73% 2 doses, 50% 1 dose; Blackburn 69% and 44%. Not huge differences, but every % seems to count right now.

sirfredfredgeorge · 11/06/2021 22:01

Positivity rate might have also plateaued (albeit at a high level)

Positivity rates with all close contacts being tested are likely to seem high compared to past times when the close contacts weren't encouraged (really allowed) to go out to be tested. But it's hard to know the size of that effect, I tried to think of a methodology to guess and couldn't come up with anything I could justify

Mentioned the dwindling number of councils (England) with zero daily cases towards the end of the last thread. Down to just two for 9th June spec date; and with a few hundred more cases likely to added to that tomorrow one or both of Mid Devon and Castle Point could be lost.

@NannyAndJohn

36 cases of the Nepal Variant now in England.

Fuck me.

Do you have a source for this please, when I googled all the articles denied there was a nepal variant and it was the Delta one
