Yet more chat about novavax, (un)blinding, general vaccine passport stress, approval (please please please) and more.
Those involved in other vaccine trials also welcome.

NS stood in Hollyrood and said our non QR code letter is equal to an QR on your phone.

Frazzled2207 · 10/09/2021 11:22

@Torvean as they have suggested it will the clinic help you get an approved vaccine if you want it? If only it were that straighforward. The mention of the term 'distressed' would have bloody distressed me!

@Stillmuddlingthrough hope the side effects passed without too much drama

@andadietcoke
After my 2nd moderna I went on the NHS website and ordered a paper Covid certificate which has just arrived with two moderna QR codes on it and (unlike the app) NO EXPIRY DATE! I feel like a free woman because there is still potential for the app to be cocked up by the trial people as has happened with others. I love a good old fashioned piece of paper. Hope your second moderna goes well if it's soon. Am also considering selling my shares as they're currently pretty high. Would like to just de-invest myself of the whole mess if I can.

Thanks @Frazzled2207 the word distressed pissed me off.
No drop in clinics til 16th Sep.
I'm actively looking for property in Norwich. So if I get 1 vaccine here and 1 there due to the NHS being devolved ill still have issues.

And now after all the anti-vaxxees abuse I'm getting abuse from SNP followers and anti-passport campaigners.
I didn't sign up for this.
My Gp can't give advice.
And really why 2 should we get 2 more vaccines when the govt have caused an issue.
Ppl in Australia are pretty pissed off too.

While i know it's going to be complicated getting one in scotland and one in england I think there's going to be many thousands in this situation (students, for starters) and there is just going to HAVE to be some kind of plan for them. If you're moving to Norwich soonish though it ought to be possible to have both there. It seems to be a bit easier to get vaccines in England. You're right why should we? But in truth for me it is nearly a year since I had the original. So it is effectively a double booster and with so much covid prevalent I think it was a good thing for me (easy for me to say though with minimal side effects overall)

After now being abused by SNP followers, who say I should be embarassed/,ashamed/dont love Scotland, due to not supporting the SNP/loony greens.
I thought I'd post a photo I found.
Seems they don't like it.
Democracy in Scotland is more like Germany in the 1930s .....

Used my domestic pass for the first time at the theatre at the weekend.

Had my second AZ jab yesterday. Had to drive 30 minutes away to Nantwich to get it. The lady said AZ was being wound down and people having vaccine no 1 of AZ would now have to travel to Manchester or Walsall for number 2.

Focus is on 18+ Pfizer.
I'm just glad Ive managed to get my 2 deployed vaccines which in effect are my boosters I suppose as nearly 12 months since my first Novavax vaccine.

It's all a sorry mess.

pleased to hear Where did you have to use your domestic pass? Am pleased to hear some places are using though this can't be legally enforceable?

Hopefully your second az will show up soon and your records are fine and dandy. And that you get minimal side effects.

Wow Manchester or Walsall are miles apart But I guess affects few people as most over 40s were vaccinated ages ago (of course we had good reason to delay getting our approved vaccines).

I had an email last week asking me to check whether my vaccine is showing on the NHS App yet. I haven’t done it as I haven’t got the NHS App installed.

I got a phone call this morning from Synexus asking for my NHS number and was taken by surprise so didn’t ask why, but presume it is connected.

Anyone else had the email or a call? I am with the Reading centre.

They need nhs number to upload your vaccine details to the app. This will make it much harder for you to get an approved vaccine if you want one.

Thanks @Frazzled2207, have just been catching up on here. I had an operation at the end of June and have been preoccupied with other aspects of my health, so had not really been thinking about Novavax. What a shambles! We really have been let down badly.

I am not sure if I would risk having another vaccine, I had some problems with both sets of jabs and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia since then, so I would need to take advice and consider it very carefully. The second jabs of both sets had to be authorised from America due to my problems.

Frazzled2207 · 14/09/2021 09:48

sorry to hear you've been unwell.

Is anyone else here from the Valneva trial? very bad news about that yesterday with the UK government order cancelled abruptly. I suspect that means that the UK government will be in no rush at all to approve that one now.

Yes on the valneva trial. Am thinking I should unblind myself and get a vaccine now. Does anyone know what happens if I had the astra Zeneca or is it such a faff on that I just go and start process again. I would be getting pfizzer or moderna as under 40.

I would contact your centre for advice, if you don't have vaccines showing up on your app it should be straightforward just to get another pair. Depends when you got your vaccines though, I was given novavax last november so I wasn't too worried about getting another two as timescales quite long.

I got my second jab on 6th June. I’m just worried that it’s going to get harder to get a jab. Was willing to wait until November/December for approval but can’t honestly see it happening.

Just wanted to pop in and say good luck to those in Scotland!

I'm in England and am wondering what is going to happen to we trial participants in respect of the booster? I have emailed my GP and the trial team to ask about this. It is looking like I will need to unblind soon and get an approved vaccine.

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 15/09/2021 12:03

I emailed Leeds asking about the Novavax booster. I took part in the crossover and I'm still blind.

I got this reply......

We have been advised from NOVAVX, that the Novavax booster trial will no longer be happening. This is based on MHRA advice.

Novavax can not advise on if you should get a 3rd vaccine. However, if you do decide to get a 3rd vaccine (the booster vaccine) you can remain in the trial.

We appreciate the difficulties of this uncertainty.

Best wishes,
