Yet more chat about novavax, (un)blinding, general vaccine passport stress, approval (please please please) and more.
Those involved in other vaccine trials also welcome.

I haven't heard anything back from the trial after my request to call me. I have an appointment in HG tomorrow morning booked but I still have no idea what to do. Nothing on the app at all, still. With the news that we're opening to the US with vaccinations I'm more hopeful that there might be some kind of reciprocity by October but no idea whether the US would accept Novavax - they seem to be using CDC cards at the moment for domestic use. I would just like someone to make a decision for me!!

If you definitely want your jab I think you need to tell Stockport not to upload your details to the database for the app
Unfortunately others on fb who’ve had one approved vaccine have had emails overnight cancelling their second appointment because their novavax vaccines have been uploaded to the app so the system thinks they’ve had more than 2 vaccines. Centres can’t easily delete the novavax info. Is a complete mess.
Stockport told me they wouldn’t upload but only because I specifically asked them not to.

Oh crikey. Yes, that's why I asked them to ring me. I haven't consented to my data being uploaded per their email last week, but I can't remember if I did for the domestic travel section. What a nightmare.

Indeed. Although Stockport seem to be last to do anything atm. On this particular occasion that might work in your favour. When I emailed them to say I had had another vaccine and wanted them to not upload my novavax data they got back to me within the hour tbh (Tricia).

Ps i’m not too worried about the domestic travel thing at the mo because I think that letter we got covers us. I think so anyway.

I've emailed Tricia again. I'll ring later if I don't hear back. I feel really sad and hesitant about it, even though I've seen it as inevitable for a while.

An update from the Valneva trial- having chased them yesterday to ask about getting the travel part of the app updated, they replied and said they would upload the details and it would take 48 hours to update. Nothing as yet, but I was feeling hopeful.

Then today I got a letter emailed from the Valneva study, saying that as the travel pass isn't guaranteed to be accepted by anywhere outside of the UK, they will refund of up to £100 per test for maximum 2 x PCR tests that any trial participants have to purchase in order to travel abroad- so would essentially cover one holiday I suppose, there and back.

It doesn't fill me with confidence really that the travel pass is going to be worth anything if they're having to mitigate things with this offer!

Stockport are uploading something this morning. Basically told to talk to my GP about getting a second vaccination, check what the US are accepting in terms of vaccinations (they haven't said) and that I need to contact them if I want to withdraw.

I'm assuming it's the events pass we're getting today then, I was very clear that I hadn't consented to the transfer of data to NHS Digital for the travel pass - I assume this is the one that's causing the issue for vaccination appointments.

What an utter mess.

Ooh that’s something. Who exactly is refunding? Presume not the nihr as we have been told that neither they nor novavax will do this for us.

Yey have a domestic pass at least! With the drop in isolation for vaxxed from mid august this is a big relief

@Frazzled2207 it just says Valenva is refunding- although have just noticed it says for participants aged 30 and over a pre-requisite for refunding is that you stay blinded on the trial, which doesn't apply to me as I got unblinded to find out if I'd had AZ thinking that would solve all my problems if I'd had an approved vaccine! But alas

Ah they’re clearly trying to keep people in.
That said I’m not sure it helps that much with many countries now insisting on vaccination. Spain I think it helps with as it was pcr or vaccination last time I looked. Some anti-vax friends of mine (arrrgh) are flying out tomorrow.

No event pass for me. It just says it can't log me in to the service. I give up.

Mine has been coming and going all day. When it was there it wouldn’t download but it I clicked on the “email it to me” link and that worked. So I now have an event pass for a month at least. I think yours should show soon.

Had my first Moderna this morning. I was asked about the trial and said yes, absolutely no issues though.

Ah, I don’t want to say “well done” as it’s a complex situation but well done for coming to a decision at least. Fingers crossed on the side effects. I was tired the following day but not poorly. I had very mixed feelings about it but am happy with my decision now.

@Frazzled2207 that's really reassuring thank you. I got a little bit teary after I had it but I think some of it was relief that I won't have to stress about ifs and buts any more if we can travel, or if I needed to suddenly for work (half my team are in the US, one is in Brazil).

I still don't have event trials in my app, even though I don't need it, that was the final straw!! Fingers crossed I'll have a shiny new Moderna record soon. Next jab is in 8 weeks.

My app is showing my Novavax jabs under Travel - woohoo!! They give dates in April/May even though I'm 99% sure I got the real thing in the autumn....

Anyway, hopefully all will be fine for Greek holiday..

Brilliant. I def read that they've given everyone still blinded april dates but this will be updated with real batch numbers once (if?) approved.
