Yet more chat about novavax, (un)blinding, general vaccine passport stress, approval (please please please) and more.
Those involved in other vaccine trials also welcome.

Yep my letter looked like a copy and paste from bits of the one sent to English participants. And I'm only getting an email copy.
Scottish govt couldn't be bothered huh.

I don't need to go abroad , but it's about the principle. They lied about the letter. Now they're saying it takes 5 months to get us on the website.

I left another comment on that video. Then commented on SNP page. So I'm sure I'll be jumped on by SNP fanatics who think NS is a Goddess. Seems if you're Scottish and anti SNP you're fodder for abuse.

I emailed the clinic today to say I want to know who to contact about the October date. And for updates about EUA in the UK.

I'm just over 40 so likelihood is AZ but a few have been getting Moderna. I'm not worried about my Covid cover right now. And I called and cancelled my NHS vaccine and that will be recorded.

I'm just fed up. All the good feelings I had from doing this are long gone.

I got a rey from clinic saying they've been advised that Novavax have applied for MHRA, FDA and EMA approval.

Oh and they gave me Novavax phone number if anyone feels like paying

I've just spoken to one of the drs at the Cheadle/Stoke site.

I told him I wanted to be withdrawn from the trial as I have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

I also said that I'd had my first AZ vaccine and was going for my second in early September.

He's asked me to go in for a final blood test next week which ive agreed to.

Ive said I don't want my Novavax data being put on the app and he said hopefully that won't happen. He also confirmed what someone else said that lots of people may see the first and last vaccines on the app, which I said I hope didn't happen as it would complicate things for lots of people and he said they're hoping that the glitch will be fixed.

He says Novavax is better at protecting against the Delta variant than AZ and they're very frustrated that it's not gone through yet.

He was really nice and very understanding.

He says the blood tests just determine whether you've had covid

Had an email back from stockport trial team confirming that they won’t input my data for the app for now. And being quite nice about the whole thing, apologising and thanking me for my time

Good news. I felt a load of stress had been removed when told my data wouldn’t be uploaded.

Now I have something in the travel section of the app. I fear it’s not good because I have Novavax dose 1/2 and Moderna dose 1/2. I guess I’ll have to wait until I try to get my second Moderna and see what happens. Never ever volunteering again ever.

I have data in my travel pass. Bafflingly, it says I’ve had AZ (I haven’t) at St Thomas’s (I didn’t) though the dates are right for my second set of Novavax/placebo. The batch number is 12345 which is also obviously not right. For now I just feel relieved there is something there, but it’s all very odd.

I read on Facebook group (trial not said anything) that it can only cope with two vaccines on the app and for some reason the ones that come up are your first and last.
So it has been suggested that we all ask trial centre not to upload novavax data to avoid this. I asked this and they agreed and seemed to acknowledge it was an issue. I still just have one Moderna showing though I don’t think Stockport have done the upload yet
So I think you need to ask yours to take it off if you’re bothered. Possibly doesn’t matter for now and not at all clear what happens when/if we get second Moderna.

I won’t be travelling anywhere until after I’ve had second Moderna (early sep) but in the meantime it would appear I can’t prove my double vaccine status on the app. I suppose I have my novavax certificate and also that fairly recent letter. Trial centre says that will be sufficient but they honestly don’t have a clue on the issues we’re facing. Thinking in particular about being able to be exempt from self isolation after 16th august but in reality I can’t see how that can be effectively policed.

How odd!
Regarding the batch numbers I have heard that these will get replaced with “real” ones when the stuff is approved, because at that point the batch numbers of the doses we received become valid.

Im on the NHS App finally - So relieved

I've booked vaccinations for 13 august and 8 October. Means I've then got 2 weeks clear before the flights we've booked to the US. Still feels unlikely but not impossible, and means I've got a couple of weeks to see if there's any other news and to see what happens with the app - was getting worried that I wouldn't be able to book anything once my app updates.

It was amazing. We were so lucky with the weather, and no problem with the vaccinations. We've actually booked another one for the end of august and the DTs birthdays.

My Novavax data won't be uploaded

@BG2015 I've asked my trial centre whether it's easier to add Novavax later, or remove it if creates conflicts for this very reason. I still haven't decided what to do so don't want to close off any avenues.

I'm a bit behind on Novavax news. Are we still expecting the NHS app to be updated by end of July (4 days!)?

Mine is still saying 'No COVID 19 records found' under Travel.

@Vargas we've been told travel uploaded by 7 August, should show on the app within 48h

Been to have my last bloods taken this morning at Cheadle.

Dr says they have absolutely no idea when Novavax will be approved.

I’m unimpressed tbh. They were previously quite clear it would be sorted by end of July and there is no explanation for the further delay. Clearly most of the other sites have sorted though quite a few seem to have az data by mistake. You couldn’t make it up.

I also got a call from the study yesterday asking for my NHS number. It's been shite.
