AZ - second dose clots, figures have almost doubled. I don’t want my second dose.

I had my first dose of AZ without any hesitation.

Due my second one next Friday and I honestly don’t know what to do.

32 but high BMI so was offered the vaccine earlier than my age group.

I understand the risk is small, but I just don’t think I can mentally cope with the anxiety and I feel like the four weeks after the vaccine are going to be unbearable anxiety.

France are now offering an alternate second dose if your first dose was AZ.
How likely are UK to do this?

This most recent hour long video with dr Yeadon has me worried enough to hold fire and not rush in (not that I've been offered the first jab yet). He is highly qualified, ex big pharma and biotech ceo and rational and eloquent. Doesn't seem a nut job and seems well reasoned but has been slandered and deplatformed for asking reasonable questions. He makes some interesting points, particularly around immunity.

Not him again. He is NOT a reliable source.

It’s bizarre to be overweight enough to be offered this vaccine well ahead of your age group, and then be worried about the risk of blood clots from the vaccine. If you have a particular concern about blood clots then why isn’t your main concern that you’re extremely obese?

Honestly, you’re more at risk from getting Covid, taking the pill etc.

I am mid forties and was very fit and healthy. Then I had Covid. Was very ill for a long time. I would much rather the tiny risk of blood clots than Covid again.

BTW I know at least 5 people who had horrific side effects from the second dose of AZ. Three doctors and two nurses between 40 and 45.

With a high BMI they will struggle to ventilate you, your heart is already having to work overtime, you're twice as likely to get cancer and are at risk of diabetes but none of this has bothered you as much as the tiny chance that you will be affected by the second dose 🤷🏻‍♀️

My friend and I had our first AZ vaccine on the same day. I have lived to tell the tale, she didn’t, 😢 She got a blood clot and didn’t make it.

I too am petrified about getting second one, but I will get it.

My advice would be, to get the vaccine but if you have a headache. Please, please seek medical advice.
It doesn’t need to be an intensely painful headache either.

Good Lord How awful I’m so sorry These blood clots aren’t little piffling bits of annoyances My husband got one and not only can he not see properly, he gets tired easily , always dropping things, it has affected his balance it’s been awful

@LysistrataVickers what do you mean by horrific side effects? Do you mean they were very ill with flu like symptoms? That means the vaccine triggered a strong immune response in them, that’s actually a good thing.

Apparently two doses of astra zeneca gives 90% protection from covid. Which has a much higher risk of causing bloodclots, and is riskier for the overweight.And spreads like wildfire.

Have you ever been on a long haul flight? Ever been on the pill? Ever been pregnant? They all carry much higher risks and I bet it didn’t even cross your mind.

It’s hard not to be worried OP. I’ve had my first AZ 5 weeks ago. Just around the time of first blood clots hype. I suffer with anxiety and health anxiety is a real issue for me. I still had my vaccine and then worried for 4 weeks after. I’ve just about relaxed now and it will soon be time for my second one ! I am soooo worried, but I think I’ll still have my second one. I’m 45.

My friend was 50 years old,
She was an amazing person, she was physically and mentally strong , no underlying health conditions, bmi in normal range, lift life to the full and was a fantastic mum who put the needs of her children before her own.

You see things on FB about appreciating what you have, bla bla and I scroll past it.

But until recently, On a daily basis, I counted how much money I had till pay day, I counted steps, I counted miles, I counted calories. Now.....
I count my blessings 💔

The risk of being overweight and catching covid is higher than getting a blood clot. I know which risk I would go with

There have been 15 cases in 9 million second doses.

Compare that with 294 cases out of 24 million first doses.

The second dose is much, much safer.

The blood clot risk was issued on 11th March. More than 5 weeks ago. I had my first on 10th March and second on 12th May.

Yeadon also said lockdowns and masks don't do anything (totally wrong) and covid was about to fizzle out last year .. he's a bit senile in his old age
