Anyone not having vaccine , why aren't you?

Is anyone not having the vaccine and what are your reasons? Im in my 30s I'm not having the vaccine because I'm worried about the long term effects that might not come to light for a few years. Why are you not having it?
If you think the vaccine is amazing and anyone not having it is selfish you probably don't need to comment.

@Ethel78 do you think you're representing Christ well atm?

MistressoftheDarkSide · 21/05/2021 18:00

I suspect @Ethel78 might be quite enjoying themselves at our expense tbh Wink

NearlyAlwaysInsane · 21/05/2021 18:03

Well she may be being quite judgemental, and that qualifies her well for being on Mumsnet and on this thread!

MumofPsuedoAdult · 21/05/2021 18:11

For me the unknown risk of Covid/Long Covid is greater than the risk of new vaccine. Vaccination isn't new!

Torvean · 21/05/2021 18:17

You might have that now. But how long will it last. There is no guarantee that you have life long immunity.

Torvean · 21/05/2021 18:23

@confuseddotcom090

I put my details into www.qcovid.org and came up with a risk of death from covid of 1 in almost 60,000.

It's probably lower than that in reality, given I don't work in a hospital or care home, or use public transport, or work in a public facing role, so have lower than average odds of catching it.

Risk of VITT with the AZ is higher than that, plus I have read all the published data on the vaccines, and there's too much emerging information on the risk of the spike protein causing thrombosis for me to want to risk an mRNA vaccine with unknown long term side effects.

On top of that, nobody has been able to show any data to reassure me that ADE won't be an issue 2-3 years down the line with any of the vaccines. Where are the animal data on this? Why haven't they been shared?

There's a difference between the chance of catching covid and the chance of dying if you catch covid. I posted an article maybe a page or so back that discounts claims made by Dolores Cahill.

I think ppl would be shocked by the number. I won't say it here. Or I'll have ppl saying I'm scare mongering. Which I'm not.

@XenoBitch

Coercion is not consent.
I went for my second dose, yesterday. No one appeared to be there unwillingly.
ZednotZee · 21/05/2021 18:32

@Ethel78

A Catholic friend of mine won't take the vaccine because she is certain that it is a precursor to the mark of the beast. She can quote scriptures from revelation which apparently concur with her views.

I secretly think she's a misguided as you are.

It seems even those who seek to infer religious obligations with respect to the vaccine can't agree with each other...

Oh! Duh. Smh
Wildswim · 21/05/2021 18:34

Jesus gave his life for our sins yet people are too selfish to take a vaccine to save lives of the vulnerable and old.

Jesus saves.

Why are you putting your faith in vaccines, rather than Jesus?

And remember, Jesus said: Love thy neighbour and Judge not lest ye be judged. Chew on that for a bit.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 21/05/2021 18:36

High five @wildswim Grin

Thephantom · 21/05/2021 18:53

Because they won't let me choose which one I get. I contacted GP and 119 and asked if I could have either Pfizer or Morderna instead of the AZ and was told I cannot unless I have an underlying condition . So be it then. I will stay unvaccinated.

Absolutely your choice. What’s the issue with AZ though?
Thephantom · 21/05/2021 19:13

Clotting. I'd rather take my risks with Covid.

Even though COVID carries a risk of clotting?
Thephantom · 21/05/2021 19:29

Yes. I don't fancy injecting something artificial into my body that carries a risk of clotting. I keep safe as much as I can , i don't really go out to crowded places much, and if I catch covid I doubt I will be significantly ill. And If I do well so be it.

I assume you know that Covid has a greater risk if clotting issues. When I was admitted to hospital when I had Covid it was one of the first things they scanned for.
BlitheringBlathers · 21/05/2021 19:36

"Even though COVID carries a risk of clotting?"

I'm sure @Thephantom isn't planning on injecting herself with COVID

Chamonixshoopshoop · 21/05/2021 19:38

I feel sorry for the people who can't have it... people with cancer for example, the immunocompromised and for those with serious allergies. There was a little boy in the news that caught covid who very nearly died.

That's why I had it, I was scared, I was anxious, but I was motivated by thinking of others.

BlitheringBlathers · 21/05/2021 19:41

No it was lighthearted!

ThornAmongstRoses · 21/05/2021 19:42

I really can’t understand why vaccinated people (or people who will be vaccinated) care so much whether others do the same?

Everyone has the choice to make their own decisions. I cannot believe the judgement I have seen on here.

I couldn't give a shiney shite what anyone else does
Chamonixshoopshoop · 21/05/2021 19:48

@ThornAmongstRoses I care because that individual decision has an impact on vulnerable people.

Yes, it is everyone's choice and thank goodness most people are making the right choice, otherwise, we would be trapped in lock down forever.

It's the right choice to protect people, like my friend who has cancer and cannot get the vaccine. We should all want to protect her. It makes me so sad that people like her will suffer, when those that can, don't get the vaccine.
