I’m sure this has been asked before so apologies , but just wondering how most people felt after the Pfizer , were any side effects relatively short lived?

@delilahbucket

A further update from me. Day 8 yesterday a rash appeared at the injection site. It's doubled in size overnight and looks like a bullseye, white in the middle. It's sore, hot and my upper arm has that achy feeling again. Apparently it's called Covid Arm in the US. I've reported it as it isn't a common one.
That's a mild allergic reaction needing antihistamines (and tell them when you go for second dose, they have a protocol to make sure you're ok) or it could be cellulitis... depending on whether it's a rash or swollen. Have you looked at photos of both? If you aren't certain get your GP to check a photo, cellulitis shouldn't be ignored.
sociallydistained · 27/05/2021 09:25

Had mine yesterday at midday. At midnight I got mild shivers but my whole left side had pins and needles. Feel very tired now but I didn’t sleep well because of that. I’ll see how I go!

delilahbucket · 27/05/2021 09:42

Thank @MRex I have some antihistamines at home so will take one. Didn't know about cellulitis so will look it up. I have a small scar appeared there as well and it has started itching so will put some hydrocortisone on it.

Good luck, hopefully that will help. Draw a line round it if you can (or get someone else to), to check if it gets bigger or not, and remember what time you drew the line.
delilahbucket · 27/05/2021 10:03

@MRex it's definitely bigger from last night. I've got a phone appointment this morning with a gp after looking up cellulitis. What I thought was scarring could actually be a blister. Better to get it checked. I can't thank you enough for bringing it to my attention.

MRex · 27/05/2021 10:07

It might not be, I really don't want to have worried you over nothing, but great you're getting it checked if you're unsure.

Had my first dose on Sunday at 17 weeks pregnant. No side effects at all except mildly sore arm for about 12 hours.

lceniWarrior · 27/05/2021 10:45

Had mine a week ago and had no symptoms at all, but today I have a really bad headache. Down neck and temples. Think likely to related?

PompomDahlia · 27/05/2021 10:46

I got my first dose on Sunday. I feel wiped out. I was fine the day after but I’ve taken 2 hour afternoon naps for the past 2 days, feel achey and I feel like I could currently climb back into bed and sleep for hours. Can’t concentrate and just want to eat everything. Anyone else feeling bad after 4 days?

speckledostrichegg · 27/05/2021 10:49

[quote confuseddotcom090]Has anyone done this to see if their arm has gone magnetic?!
It looks like BS (how the hell?!) but I'm curious nonetheless:

AIMummy · 27/05/2021 10:50

Just a sore arm for 48hrs and a bit tired but I've had a covid before, if that makes a difference?

CookPassBabtridge · 27/05/2021 11:07

I had mine yesterday morning and have just had a sore arm, it's sorer today. No other symptoms. My DP was shivery yesterday and had a bit of lethargy and headache and now just a sore arm.

delilahbucket · 27/05/2021 11:07

Just another update, docs have prescribed me antibiotics. They weren't sure, bit hard to tell from a photo, but to be on the safe side they've issued them.

I hope it gets better quickly.
VintageDreamer · 27/05/2021 17:04

I've had both doses now.

The first dose I had quite a sore arm for around 3 days. I found it difficult to do things like wash and dry my hair as it hurt to lift it.

The second dose I had a mildly sore arm for around 12 hours but I could still move it fine and sleep on that side. I did feel a little tired and went to bed around 2 hours early. No others side effects thankfully. :)

I was really tired for just over a week. Felt ready for bed by about 6 every night.
DawnAnn · 27/05/2021 21:17

I had my first jab today. Arm feels a bit sore/stiff, but okay so far apart from that.

LakieLady · 28/05/2021 08:18

My arm was sore to touch or to lie on for a few hours after both first & second doses.

After the first, I felt as though I was coming down with a cold (bit achey, bit shivery) for a few hours.

No headache after either and boobs unchanged!

I only had an 8 week gap between mine (Jan and March) and the after effects were much less after the second one.

delilahbucket · 28/05/2021 09:37

I'm really not feeling very well today. The patch on my arm has faded but I've broken out in a rash all over my legs. DP said that was where he got a rash after his flu jab a couple of years ago. My neck glands are up and I've got earache. I also feel really sick, but that could be the antibiotics as they are awful.
Between myself and DP, he was the one who thought he would react badly to the vaccine and I never gave it a second thought. He's been fine and clearly my immune system isn't happy 😔

This is not a mild reaction to work through, especially after over a week. Please ensure you are seen by a doctor in person today, not a phone appointment. If it is cellulitis and it spread that's an issue, if it's an allergy and it spread that's an issue. I hope you feel better later.
delilahbucket · 28/05/2021 10:25

Thank you @MRex I am waiting for a GP to call me this morning. We're going on our honeymoon on Monday (not that we've actually managed to have our wedding yet) and I really do not want to be ill. We will be in the UK though and not particularly far from home.

PurplePi · 28/05/2021 10:45

@delilahbucket I had COVID arm 10 days after my first AZ injection. I called 111 and they prescribed antibiotics. I suspect it was more of an allergic reaction than cellulitis, but it’s best to be safe. Anyway, mine started going down after a couple of days & is now completely fine. Fingers crossed that it’s the same for you. Btw, I did log a yellow card for it.

SayersScripts · 28/05/2021 11:02

I had swollen lymph nodes and sore arm for 3 days which appeared a week after first jab, but nothing else. I live abroad with private insurance and got it checked out to be on the safe side and everything is fine :)

delilahbucket · 28/05/2021 11:08

@PurplePi I've just got off the phone to the doctors and that is two I've spoken to now that know nothing about Covid Arm. Incidentally the rash on my arm has almost disappeared, although it still feels hot. I've got a lovely little scar, like a mini version of the TB scar 🙄.
My reaction has been dismissed as anything to do with my vaccine and they are giving a different antibiotic. If I'm still unwell tomorrow I've got to call 111. This has completely put me off getting my second vaccine which really pains me because I was so keen.
I'm glad you have logged it, that's what is needed and I wish more people would use that system.

sociallydistained · 28/05/2021 11:37

Felt like I’d been hit by a bus yesterday. A very spaced out “not in the room” feeling until 5pm next day then I felt fine. Not even my arm hurts now. So my symptoms lasted about 17 hours. Back at the gym this morning feeling fine. Hopefully stays that way.
