I’m sure this has been asked before so apologies , but just wondering how most people felt after the Pfizer , were any side effects relatively short lived?

@GypsyWanderer do you mind posting a photo of the cover of the leaflet. Thanks

Here’s the cover of the leaflet. I think I’ll give it a few more days and see if my head gets any better. It’s my birthday Thursday and I really don’t want to spend it up A&E! Although if my headache gets worse I’ll call 111.

How did you feel after the Pfizer jab
LittleRen · 18/05/2021 19:59

I had mine on Sunday. Feel exhausted by the evening but I am fine through the day.

Glands are up under my arms and sore.

Period started today - think it’s early. I did have to take MAP a few weeks ago so can’t entirely say that’s down to jab.

Maidofdishonour · 18/05/2021 22:01

I didn’t have any reaction to either of my Pfizer vaccinations. I’m a little worried that this means that it hasn’t worked. I have several auto-immune diseases although I don’t take any immunosuppressants and I’m 55. I wasn’t concerned after the first jab but I had read that the second jab produces an immune response based on the first jab. I didn’t even have a sore arm!

LittleRen · 18/05/2021 22:45

@Maidofdishonour women aged under 55 are most likely to have side effects. I wouldn’t worry. It affects people in different ways.

whatswithtodaytoday · 19/05/2021 07:06

@Maidofdishonour I read recently that 99% of people had antibodies after their second Pfizer, including people with autoimmune conditions. The first dose was not so effective for them, but the second fixed that. You should be fine 👍 It was posted by Mac n Chise on Twitter, if you want to check.

@fairyannie You've described exactly how I feel after the pfizer jab. This is also like a milder version of how I felt when I had covid last October. Back then the headache lasted for 10 days, I'm now on day 3 post jab.

Lots of water, healthy food, and another day on the sofa here.

WhyDoIFeelAwful · 19/05/2021 08:37

@LittleRen do you have the source for that info about women under 55? I need all the evidence I can get for my GP to take me seriously.

Forestiere · 19/05/2021 08:44

After my first Pfizer jab all my glands were sore, particularly in my neck. This lasted for about 2 or 3 weeks.
Had my second jab on Monday, since then both arms have been really sore and achy, shoulders, elbows and wrists. Woke up this morning with a sore, dry throat too. I'm 47.

Jocasta2018 · 19/05/2021 08:45

After the first jab, I felt nothing - no localised pain at all - and perfectly healthy. If I had't seen the needle go in, I would not have known I'd had the jab.

After the second jab, I felt fine for the first 24hrs then a bit under the weather -sleeping much more at night - for a couple of days. All the way through, I had no localised pain.

LittleRen · 19/05/2021 09:12

@WhyDoIFeelAwful www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/health-56901356.amp it’s BBC but I think it says where the info is from

That helps me too thank you. Is a relief to know I’m not the only one.

Turquoisa80 · 19/05/2021 09:48

Ive had both doses of Pfizer and both times my period came a few days earlier than normal. No other symptoms though

FeetZelet · 19/05/2021 10:04

I had first dose Sunday, immediately felt is spreading up my neck and developed a headache which continued till today. Arm was sore which progressed to painful, hot and swollen 24-48 hours post injection. 24 hours in, practically to the minute, the painful joints, severe headache and nausea started, took to the bed and used paracetamol to help. Had nights sweats for two nights also. Slight residual headache this morning. Hoping the second dose doesn’t cause as severe side effects in 4 weeks.

LittleRen · 19/05/2021 10:09

My armpit not as sore today feels like the swollen glands may be shrinking. Period seems to have disappeared again... very odd.

Will see how I go tonight as that’s when I have been flagging!!

LaMariposa · 19/05/2021 11:06

With paracetamol I’m pretty much normal. Without it I just want to lie quietly somewhere with my eyes shut.
Thank goodness today is my day off. DS is getting a lot of TV, but he’s happy with that. I just hope I’m better for work tomorrow.

Tuckedinbelly · 19/05/2021 11:13

Fine after the first one, pretty crap after the second one - like having a cold.

Villanelle17 · 19/05/2021 11:16

Had both vaccines now. I got no side effects, just a stiff arm. My mum was the same.

lcenii · 19/05/2021 13:22

Just had my first one! Waiting and watching.

delilahbucket · 21/05/2021 21:41

I just wanted to add, I'm on day three after my vaccine and I have had horrendous period cramps and backache all day. Anyone would think I had come on, except I'm on the pill and not due for another week. I do have suspected endo, but don't normally get cramps until the day I come on.

GypsyWanderer · 21/05/2021 22:07

I was worried about the period side of things after reading about How it can affect your cycle. I was due on 2 days after my vaccine and thankfully mine was the Santa as usual in intensity And side effects etc.

But as I’ve had a headache for a week now and felt want and tired I do wonder if the vaccine exacerbated my period symptoms. I usually have headaches for maybe the day or so before my period and I get tiredness etc.

But that’s the problem with this kind of thing. Everything we are likely to blame on the vaccine because it’s so novel.

LittleRen · 21/05/2021 22:57

Oh my gosh my period is HEAVY, and painful. Very unusual for me.

Mandalay246 · 22/05/2021 05:08

I had my first one almost three weeks ago, and only a sore arm for two days. I'm due my second next week (not in the UK), but none of my colleagues had any issues from theirs, except the sore arm.

delilahbucket · 27/05/2021 08:19

A further update from me. Day 8 yesterday a rash appeared at the injection site. It's doubled in size overnight and looks like a bullseye, white in the middle. It's sore, hot and my upper arm has that achy feeling again. Apparently it's called Covid Arm in the US. I've reported it as it isn't a common one.

thisisbull · 27/05/2021 08:26

Awful, I felt like I had the flu
