I’m sure this has been asked before so apologies , but just wondering how most people felt after the Pfizer , were any side effects relatively short lived?

OP posts:

Had first dose on Saturday (I'm 35). Yesterday I felt exactly the same exhaustion as I had when I had Covid (it's a strange type of fatigue) and I also had a sore arm. Today I woke up feeling absolutely fine! My arm is still a bit sore, but not as much as it was yesterday.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 17/05/2021 19:51

Had my second on Saturday. First was just a sore arm. This one is a sore arm, and an epic hangover feeling that's dwindling but still about.

Feel far better that I did when I had last years brush with either covid or a bloody awful similar virus.

Blondiney · 17/05/2021 19:52

Had my first on Friday morning. Sore, arm thing kicked in after 4 hours, only lasted a day.

Saturday: Nausea and no appetite. Felt a lot like early morning sickness.

Sunday: Nausea a bit better, still no appetite. Felt tired and a bit 'foggy', dozed a lot. Low level headache. Glands in neck were swollen and tender for a few hours in the afternoon. Weird how symptoms come and go so quickly.

Monday: Diarrhea in morning. Everything else back to normal.

Moondust001 · 17/05/2021 19:52

I was rubbish the first day after my first jab. My friend was crappy for three days after her second. We were both fine for the other jab! We've both had Covid at some point in time. Go figure.

daretodenim · 17/05/2021 19:55

1st dose yesterday - slight sore arm in the evening. Today it's REALLY sore! While thing is hot from shoulder to pinky (not index finger or thumb) and incredibly sore to move - even picking up mobile with it makes me gasp.

That's it though, no headache.

And I got it when I already was weak and exhausted from another illness (vaccination not contraindicated) so expected to be hit hard.

Still got tomorrow to go though 😉

Dogsandbabies · 17/05/2021 19:55

I am almost 30 weeks pregnant and had Covid in January. I only got a sore arm for less than a day after my Pfizer.

littlepeas · 17/05/2021 19:57

Sore arm and intermittent shivers and fatigue for about 3 days - I kept thinking I was feeling better and then I’d go all shivery again and need to sit down.

TheVolturi · 17/05/2021 19:58

I had it a week ago and felt tired but nothing else. It was the run up to my period though so might have been nothing to do with the jab!

atsasnuffothat · 17/05/2021 20:11

@Lovebug06

I had Pfizer this morning. I just have a sore arm so far.

Random question but did anyone's periods go weird after they had it?

I had the worst, heaviest period I have ever had in my life after my first jag (haven't had the second jag yet). Seriously at one point it was like giving birth all over again... However, I am 55 and haven't yet experienced any menopausal symptoms at all - so I can't really be sure if it was the inoculation causing it or just some sort of hormonal nonsense.
TheVolturi · 17/05/2021 20:12

My period was actually heavier then usual yes! Strange.

GypsyWanderer · 17/05/2021 20:18

Yes of course. But I have read the advice and it says if you have a headache beyond the 4 day mark, then it’s important to contact 111 or your GP. I’ll let you know if I call them but maybe you would also like to if you’re no better? They do an online chat too i think.

MRex · 17/05/2021 20:21

I just posted this on another thread, but anyone with a bad headache should have more water in case it's a dehydration headache. If any unusual (to you) severe headache doesn't go away an hour or so after paracetamol and water then contact 111 or your GP. That's any headache ever, not just after vaccination.

Side effects can be reported here: yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/.

GypsyWanderer · 17/05/2021 20:22

I’m glad your headache is easing now. I hope it continues to improve and hopefully mine will follow!

Londontown12 · 17/05/2021 20:23

Sore arm for 1 day with both jabs ! Easy peasy xx

I had 2 paracetamol and 2 ibuprofen yesterday that didn’t touch my headache. It went away during the night and came back this morning and I’ve had it all day today again. I’ll contact 111 tomorrow if it hasn’t gone. I have tried drinking more water. Would paracetamol get rid of a dehydration headache do you think?

Cissyandflora · 17/05/2021 20:25

I’ve had both Pfizer and no side effects whatsoever.

AppleJane · 17/05/2021 20:25

@Mimsytove

Ist jab: head fell off and rolled under the table.

2nd Jab: Boobs went up four sizes ( husband pleased).

Heads still a bit loose, but so grateful I had it.

I can't let this one go by with no comment. Hilarious 😂😂

My boobs are big enough, dreading my 2nd 🤣

Pieceofpurplesky · 17/05/2021 20:27

Nothing at all after number one and felt like I had been steamrollered after number 2. So exhausted and fuzzy head

Yes, i said this to DH. The afternoon after my jab I felt like I did when I first started with Covid, but obviously it only lasted an afternoon instead of 10 days!
WhiteChocTwix · 17/05/2021 21:03

My arm felt increasingly more sore after my injection. About 14 hours in I started to develop a very mild headache. It was gone within 6 hours. To be fair I intended not to have a busy day after the jab, then my plumber said it was his only slot to change my leaking tap, and I supervised to ensure no mess then DF wanted to visit the local pub garden from his care home..., Had to supervise and responsibly return him ✌️then I did a Sainsbury's shop on the way home as I was passing and felt especially ropey pushing a trolley in-store. Thank god for DH who let me perch on a bar stool while he made dinner when I got home. A week on, totally fine, bring on 2nd dose.

MRex · 17/05/2021 21:51

@GypsyWanderer - it'll help while you want for the water to resolve dehydration. If you've taken both plus water and still in pain after an hour then I think you should call 111 now for an assessment.

Lovebug06 · 17/05/2021 22:11

@atsasnuffothat @TheVolturi
Sorry to be weird 😂 but did it actually change your cycle or just the amount?
I'm tracking as TTC so a bit worried about the change of cycles I've read about!

WiltedDaffs · 17/05/2021 22:31

Had my first dose yesterday morning. Sore arm started yesterday afternoon, incredibly sore by the evening. Still a little sore today but it's going.

Slight headache on and off today, haven't needed to take anything for it.

Weirdly, my period showed up 2 hours after my jab and four days early!

GypsyWanderer · 18/05/2021 05:37

Thank you for that. I’ll see how I am today and contact 111 later if my headache returns. I’ve just got up and don’t feel too bad at the moment so fingers crossed it’s passed 🤞🏽

It didn't change the actual cycle length, just I bled a lot lot heavier than usual!
