Marking place to put this back on TIO. Fingers crossed for good news from parkrun tomorrow. I don't think they have enough landowners happy to go ahead yet so I think it will get delayed further, but until that announcement tomorrow it might still go ahead in just over 2 weeks. Of course this Indian variant has also thrown it off course a bit. Will see what tomorrow brings.

PomRuns · 21/05/2021 00:26

I’ve been out out. Couldn’t wear my hot pants due to truely.

thatgingergirl · 21/05/2021 07:01

PomRuns 🙂 I so want to go out out. I do have things planned, but they're all casual. I have dresses I will be too old for soon. (I've been too old for hot pants for 40 odd years!)

carolinesbaby · 21/05/2021 08:39

Out Out is a dream.... I will be honest and say I am longing for a proper gig, a mosh pit crammed with hundreds of people crammed together and leaping around in unison to something that will mean I am deaf for two days afterwards. Or a rowdy nightclub, a dress and heels I have to take off on the way home. I miss getting dressed up for a night out, I'm over all this lockdown comfort dressing and wearing trainers with everything - jeans and Docs fab in daytime but I want more for a night out. Am I showing my age?

Bordois · 21/05/2021 12:58

Not so much actual good news but a reassuring email from Zoe today saying although there are localised outbreaks, there doesn't seem to a significant impact on figures and that most cases appear to be mild and so shouldn't lead to an impact on the NHS

Bordois · 21/05/2021 13:01

Reacher I like the thought of it rather than the reality tbh - the anticipation and whole process of getting ready is better than the going out! Am I showing my age now 🤣

tobee · 21/05/2021 16:12

I want to go in the centre of London. Go to a bar. Have a long dinner in a packed restaurant.

I even want to go on the packed tube. I love seeing all the tourists coming into London on the Piccadilly Line fresh off the plane at Heathrow.

I want to see commuters, people travelling, loud parties happening. People living!

PomRuns · 21/05/2021 17:47

@tobee that was one of the bits I really liked seeing. People dressed up on the tube, running for the last train home (getting on wrong train -me 😳).

Loved your description @Reachersloveinterest

@thatgingergirl haven’t worn thise hot pants in 30 years, was pleased to pass them on ...
Book something, wear the dress!

@Bordois the prep with a little pre drink is part of the fun.

I’ve foolishly arranged drinks tonight - I’m going to have to get the red lipstick out.

Dementedswan · 21/05/2021 20:30

@PomRuns enjoy your night out 🥳

BessMarvin · 21/05/2021 20:32

Just curious if anyone knows when it is decided and by whom, which vaccine you get? I had got myself all psyched up for ignoring the small blood clot risk, mentally prepared myself for possible bad side effects, went to get my vaccine and I got given Pfizer. I'm early 40s. The place I went to reportedly does Pfizer and AZ. They didn't even actually tell me, it occurred to me to ask just before they administered it. Made me wonder who actually makes the decision.

Dementedswan · 21/05/2021 20:44

@BessMarvin depends on vaccination centre I guess. I think most have switched to pfizer/moderna for first doses and also doing az for second jabs. I had my second az on 12th May at a gp hub, they were administering Pfizer second jabs and az seconds plus over 40s they has released booking slots too via Gps.

BessMarvin · 21/05/2021 21:16

Thanks, it's just my liking to know how things work curious side. Maybe I should have asked while I was there, it was all just so quick and overwhelming!

thatgingergirl · 21/05/2021 21:34

PomRuns - I'm checking out swanky hotels now! Enjoy the drinks, and the lippy!

Autumn101 · 22/05/2021 09:17

Hello everyone, like Pom I’ve been out out too this week! DH and I went for dinner and the restaurant was full - it was so lovely seeing people dressed up, happy, laughing and just so normal.

We also had a day out in London with friends, long boozy lunch, wandered along the river and more drinks in a bar. I was slightly anxious before we went but really enjoyed it, everywhere felt very safe and comfortable

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/05/2021 10:31

Eurovision tonight is going to happen with a proper live audience of 3500, they’re making it an official trial event!
This is making me weirdly emotional Confused

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 22/05/2021 13:11

Friends: The Reunion will be be available on demand from 8am next Thursday and will be shown on Sky One - part of Sky, which also owns Sky News - at 8pm.

Nothing covid related about this at all but 🥳

I feel like the end is nearly here! My age group is next to be called and it feels like they got through calling the 30s in about two weeks so we are possibly only a few weeks from every adult being offered their first dose! Hopefully the sun will come out soon. I've gone down with the flu this week so haven't enjoyed the reopening at all and poor DD (who will be two on thursday) has had to spend the whole week indoors begging to go out for a walk each day. She's also been really poorly. Ah and we were so excited for soft play. İ feel like I've gone backwards into lockdown but also weirdly excited at the same time to come out once I feel better. So relieved I'm getting my first vaccine soon and will be able to travel again. Need some sunshine so badly!!

tobee · 22/05/2021 16:47

I love to see how the vaccine age groups are falling!!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/05/2021 17:18

My only concern about the vaccinations racing through the age groups is that it might relate to low take-up.

tobee · 22/05/2021 18:42

Oh dear! Haven't thought of that! But haven't heard percentages yet!

tobee · 22/05/2021 20:47

Oh yeah there were people drunk singing outside my house at past 5 o clock this morning! Hooray for the easing of lockdown! Grin

1990s · 22/05/2021 21:19

Seems to be pretty certain that the vaccine work against Indian variant. I know there were articles before but this one seemed very positive:
