If you've had your first dose this week, what did you have?

Just interested as at one stage they were saving some of the Pfizer/AZ for second doses and will need some of the Moderna for 18-30. I know we'll get extra deliveries though.

@BuggerBognor

Moderna today. Age 45. Very relieved because AZ side effects absolutely wiped out my DH and I didn’t want DS to go through another traumatic night. (Or to throw away another sweaty mattress... Angry )
Roughly whereabouts are you? Curious which areas are using Moderna and crossing fingers one is near me! Hope you are feeling OK, BuggerBognor.

Little update. Had AZ Friday 11am and precisely 12 hours later came down with aches, temperatures, chills, felt absolutely terrible until about 9pm last night so just under 24 hours. Had a great night's sleep and felt so much better today though a little tired. Hope that reassures anyone having a nightmare day after AZ like myself. Hang in there!

BawhairAway · 18/04/2021 22:03

Had Pfizer yesterday. Sore/dead arm eased off this afternoon, fine now, otherwise no symptoms at all

bopfactory · 18/04/2021 22:09

I had Moderna in Bristol yesterday. Absolutely no side effects! I'm 46 next month.

harknesswitch · 18/04/2021 22:10

I had the AZ vaccine on Wednesday about 7pm, felt fine up until about 1pm on Thursday then felt really flu'y, aches and pains, paracetamol meant it was manageable, I could still work, early night and I was fine on Friday. Just a bit of a sore arm which has gone now

seepingweeping · 18/04/2021 22:16

I had moderna first day it came out. Arm was sore for a day and been fine. It's good it's only 28 days between the 1st and second dose.

I dont understand, 28 days?

AZ Saturday afternoon. Was expecting to feel rubbish given what I’ve seen. My arm is really sore (feel like a few boxers lined up to punch me in the same place), but fine apart from that.

48 and a few autoimmune conditions. I’m thankful to have had it, and where I went was really well organised.

Had AZ last Wed. Tossed and turned a bit that night but that was it. Right as rain the next day. No way does it compare to actually getting Covid or compared to being ‘ill’ in any way.

seepingweeping · 19/04/2021 08:40

@MummaPI
It says on moderna leaflet second vaccine is 28 days from the first and the nurse who administered mine told me so

Exactly the same for me. I'm very relieved.
kerkyra · 19/04/2021 09:02

Had AZ yesterday lunchtime.Slept well and woke with an achey arm but feel fine so far.

SendCheese · 19/04/2021 09:16

Had Moderna at the Etihad yesterday morning. Sore shoulder developed in the afternoon and isn't showing signs of easing yet, but that's the only side effect I've experienced. Oddly, they're giving AZ locally, and younger friends have been invited/had it, but I have yet to receive my text from the surgery (I'm 46).

My leaflet has been amended to say second dose 4-12 weeks after the first.

That's strange, SendCheese. Have you been given a date for the second jab?

Maybe in booking the second jab 11-12 weeks later they have the flexibility to bring it forward if need be.

SendCheese · 19/04/2021 09:57

@Cheshiresun I booked both appts at the same time, was given July for the second. I did wonder if we'd get a rearranged date sometime sooner once they knew which vaxx they were giving.

I had AZ on Saturday. Having seen my DH and DSis take to their beds for a day feeling tired/hungover after theirs, I had cleared the day yesterday in anticipation of the same.

No side effects other than a sore arm thus far, and even that was just an intermittent dull ache. I ended up changing all the beds and clearing out the utility room yesterday as everyone had gone out so I could rest.

SendCheese · 19/04/2021 15:50

@BuggerBognor true, and to be honest I'm happy to take it whenever it's offered!

Hamilton1 · 19/04/2021 20:42

Had AZ on Saturday am, was fine all day until 12 hours later when started to feel sick and achey. Felt really nauseous the following day. Back to normal today. Pleased I had it on Saturday as although wasn’t too bad I wouldn’t have wanted to be at work the following day.

Trekkerbabe · 19/04/2021 20:55

AZ on Sat evening. Fine all night and most of yesterday until about 5pm at which point I felt like I'd been hit by a bus!!
Early night and been fine today.

Ellmau · 19/04/2021 22:40

DB had AZ on Saturday.
